Met Police officer videos toilets at work for Mermaids

jadefinch · 23/02/2020 11:01

She's only been on Twitter for less than two weeks - she also says she's a women's coordinator for the Met - but her timeline is all pro trans tweets including praise for Peter Tatchell, support for 'rainbow crossings' and made up stats that '89% of trans people have considered suicide in the last year(!)'.

But most disturbingly, she's made various videos, seemingly for Mermaids as she's tagged them into her posts, of the men's and women's toilets where she works. She's said the point of these videos is to show what's in the toilets so trans people can feel included - THIS IS NOT WHAT A POLICE OFFICER SHOULD BE DOING.

.. Chemsex is a gay-sex-on-drugs cultural phenomenon thing..

Christ!

Now I know that I have to ask - illegal drugs?

There is a real issue with trust between gay men and the U.K. police force, particularly hard to navigate within this specific subculture that embraces illegal drug use and becomes more vulnerable because of it.

This kind of stuff, along with lesbians being beaten on a London bus, is what our police forces’ LGBT specific staff should be getting to grips with. Instead they are fannying about over unkind tweets and doing guided video tours of the female lavatories.

Siameasy · 23/02/2020 17:57

OT but..Didn’t poor old Brian Paddick say something GC and then got shut down and had to retract?

Anyway I hope FairCop get hold of it because the public are paying for this nonsense and for this person to talk rubbish on Twitter

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 23/02/2020 17:58

It’s a broad spectrum of mostly illegal drugs, Horse inc some that are fairly new fangled and have now been made illegal but weren’t until the laws caught up.

The new pre-exposure anti HIV drugs are thought to have contributed to the rise of the modern sex party, while it’s great that gay men are no longer living under the dark cloud of AIDS, there are fears of a resurgence of other STDs, ones that have become anti biotic resistant.

Chemsex sits at a cross section of public health and crime. It must be very challenging for police forces to tackle, in our increasingly sexualised society. Showing off the bogs to appease the trans activists seems like a terrible waste of public funds to me.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 23/02/2020 17:59

This is a good moment for Fair Cop and LGB Alliance to collaborate, I reckon!

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 23/02/2020 18:04

So would officer clever also put film of bank vaults on Twitter if a lobby group asked?

How about stopping enabling sexual fantasies and dealing with crime?

Mockersisrightasusual · 23/02/2020 18:16

Back in the bad old days, coppers used to hang around in the gents waiting for some poor sod to come in and smile at them.

How things have changed.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 23/02/2020 18:59

Thanks for the explanations. So, excuse my ignorance, but why on earth is a police officer hashtagging anything with 'chemsex'? What earthly reason would there be for that? Is she promoting it? Raising awareness of it? And if so, why?!

jay55 · 23/02/2020 19:04

I cannot imagine Aviva are happy to be linked to chemsex.

This is a question I can not answer. Perhaps she thinks the station ladies would make a good venue for a chemsex party? Plenty of room for getting ones bits and bobs out. Plus mirrors. And it’s hoseable!

If only they could find a middle ground between this and not bothering to properly investigate the suspicious deaths of young, gay men, because, chemsex party!

Lordfrontpaw · 23/02/2020 19:22

She’s a lesbian. And obsessed with ‘inclusivity’ to the point where what, every tweet mentions it. Why so obsessed with this rather than the business of doing her actual job?

I don’t give a shit if the police that turn up to an incident are far, straight or sleep with horses (actually, scratch the last one) as long as they do the job with professionals and impartiality and don’t piss about arguing the the 6”3 person with a beard who mugged me could be a woman and that I shouldn’t be horrid and assume it was a man, so can I rewrite my statement...

Oh well, she will get bitten when she says she doesn’t date women with male bodies.

StealthMama · 23/02/2020 20:16

@SerendipityJane then that's not relevant to this particular thread? What's your point, in supporting women's rights that is Hmm

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/02/2020 20:26

YY.

I bridled at that.

jadefinch · 23/02/2020 20:44

A useful time to remind everyone that South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Billings told TalkRadio that, because "there are people in our communities that need to trust the police", they divert resources such as for sending officers to investigate burglaries towards them investigating 'offensive tweets' such as misgendering, even if there is no suggestion that a crime has been committed.

This also comes on the same day that a video went viral of girls challenging a man who had been masturbating on a train next to one of them. They tagged the Met Police into the video on Twitter and there were dozens of replies from women saying they've reported incidents like this to the police and the police did absolutely nothing

Brian Paddick's former boyfriend died as a result of chemsex.

If anyone is reporting directing to Met then suggest Met Professional Standards Directorate should be copied in.

Doobigetta · 24/02/2020 08:46

The world is a weird, fucked up place now. A few weeks ago a friend and I found ourselves across the road from a club running a fetish night. We were watching the furries in the queue for a few minutes and eye rolling, and then we noticed a young man puking his guts out next to them. From where we were standing he looked about fifteen, he was very small and slight, and wearing nothing apart from bondage gear, so basically naked. And it was pouring, and blowing a gale, and very cold. And this very young man had a similarly dressed but much, much bigger man standing over him while he was being sick. So as from where we were the guy looked underage and incredibly vulnerable we went over- it didn’t feel right not to see if he was ok. So two minutes later we were surrounded by men in bondage gear and bouncers telling us to fuck off and mind our own business. (It was clear by this point that although he was very very young, and the puking wasn’t just alcohol related, he was over 18.) And then we were confronted by another guy, this one dressed head to toe in rubber, who was quite happy to tell us that there was nothing to be concerned about and nobody was at any risk at all, and he knew that because he was an off-duty police officer... it definitely felt like the moment I officially joined the older generation.

Great question Scrimshaw It's beyond bizarre, but the police seem to have rewritten their role at the behest of Stonewall. It's quite astounding.

AbsintheFriends · 24/02/2020 10:12

In her introductory video, here twitter.com/katelgbtq/status/1227692627157495809 before she goes on her toilet voyeurism tour, Kate tells us she is a 'transgender spock' (wtf??) which, she explains, does not mean she's transgender herself, but is the person transgender or transitioning officers can talk to in confidence (because of protection by GRA) about things like 'toilets, changing rooms and uniform fitting issues.'

Caroline Criado Perez covers the longstanding issues women police officers have had with uniform fitting issues, namely that stab vests are made for male bodies (at least one woman officer has been killed as a direct result.)

The people whom Kate is trying to ingratiate with her perky videos will not have their lives put at risk by 'uniform fitting issues'. The people who will are not going to be at risk because they are transgender, but because they are women. But who cares about them? No costly campaign to make them feel valued. Not even enough cash to ensure their lives are adequately protected.

74NewStreet · 24/02/2020 10:19

What a peculiar little weirdo she is Hmm. Is a transgender Spock an official position, (is it a thing at all?!) or has she self ID’d as one?
Pity she wouldn’t think to identify as a fucking police officer, the little twit.

WanderinWomb · 24/02/2020 10:33

There is raising a serious issue from a training course and there is hashtagging it on Twitter!!!!! Never do the second one.

If you click that hash tag be careful there are no young eyes around

Many penetration videos come up.

This officer isn't just stupid, is an actual danger.

FairCop · 24/02/2020 10:43

Thanks for thinking of us. Feel free to tag us in here or on twitter.
We are aware and arranging next steps.

FYI - Spoc is 'single point of contact' we use them for all sorts of reasons. Basically a liaison officer. It's not a paid role and is usually done alongside/around your paid role.

WanderinWomb · 24/02/2020 10:44

I think I may have found myself on the same rainy street corner as Doobigetta two weeks ago.

Some of those furries and pups were indeed very young and vulnerable (also freezing cold)

74NewStreet · 24/02/2020 10:45

Oh, I see. Sorry Blush
