I feel so sorry for Kate. Even if she's found not guilty - as I hope she is - she has been put through the mill by someone who has a string of criminal convictions and has a history of referring to people on Twitter as "freaks" and "nutters". The police and the CPS should be utterly ashamed of themselves. They look like complete fools and misogynists.

ArranUpsideDown · 07/02/2020 16:06

According to Maya on Twitter: Verdict to come Feb 14

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/02/2020 16:17

Same day as Harry.

Ooh what a coincidence. Hmm

Melroses · 07/02/2020 16:18

That's a long wait.

scotsheather · 07/02/2020 16:28

Why such a delay it's only a days case.

Melroses · 07/02/2020 16:33

Who knows. Harry's was going to be out early Jan.

RoyalCorgi · 07/02/2020 16:35

Feb 14? How odd. The judge obviously needs some time to think about it.

It will be an interesting day for freedom of speech one way or another.

Lordfrontpaw · 07/02/2020 16:35

Maybe it’s good news and the judges are donning their flameproof clothes and digging moats around their houses?

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/02/2020 16:36

Very odd. My tin foil hat is looking tempting.

I can't imagine the stress that both Harry and Kate are going through. I really hope that the verdicts are positive for both of them. This is an incredible threat to freedom of speech. But one positive thing is that many of us are watching and the somnabulant media, or at least parts of it, has woken up.

Why is the absolutely disgusting abuse and harassment that Caro was subjected to not a criminal act but this guff is? Is it simply that Caro hasn’t taken it to court?

RoyalCorgi · 07/02/2020 16:45

Sexnotgender: I'm pretty sure that Caro has reported the abuse and harassment she's been subjected to multiple times to the police, but they haven't taken action.

Sexnotgender · 07/02/2020 16:46

Unbelievable.

Angryresister · 07/02/2020 16:49

What happened?

Angryresister · 07/02/2020 16:52

Sorry posted when internet down.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 07/02/2020 16:56

I rather love how the Mail has included a photo of SH today and the rather more flattering one SH uses on twitter. Say nothing, just lay it out there.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/02/2020 17:01

Hang on, so both Scottow and FairCop are finding out on the 14th. Is this just a coincidence, or do the results depend on each other?

Lordfrontpaw · 07/02/2020 17:04

No one looks like their profile photo though!

It’s like when a group of young women had been convicted of beating someone up in a nightclub or trying to proposition a man on a flight (yes these came up on my newsfeed this week) and they show their social media filtered selfies with huge eyes, perfect skin and huge pouty lips, with little bunny ears or flowers/stars around them - then you see them outside the magistrates court looking far less glamorous!

MForstater · 07/02/2020 17:05

Kate did brilliantly under very stressful questioning.

I hope the judge sees what we could all see.

These really are the modern witch trials.

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 07/02/2020 17:07

So someone has been involved in a "fair few" litigation incidents, but then again, too few to mention.

Regrets, there are none. At least not about the victim of their violence.

And stops singing.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 07/02/2020 17:08

Possibly so. But if you're intent on getting people to pretend they can't see what they can see, reality is a cruel mirror.

Well done Kate Thanks

Thank you for updates Maya!

It would be sensible PR to handle them together (especially with it being Friday and "take out the trash day" in news item terms).

www.theguardian.com/politics/shortcuts/2015/dec/18/take-out-the-trash-day-the-perfect-opportunity-to-bury-bad-news

But it seems implausible that they'd be timed to coincide.

RoyalCorgi · 07/02/2020 17:12

Is this just a coincidence, or do the results depend on each other?

They're very different things - Kate's was a criminal trial, whereas Harry brought a judicial review against the College of Policing. I'm assuming that the judge in Kate's case needs time to go through the evidence carefully and consider the verdict. So I think it's coincidence, though I guess it's just possible that the judge in Kate's case doesn't want much publicity and is hoping it will be buried by the Harry Miller verdict. That seems unlikely, though.
