There is a lot to get through in court today. It might make the MoS?

Hope Kate is bearing up Flowers

(Socks? H? - HA HA HA HA HA)

LangClegsInSpace · 07/02/2020 08:31

Good luck today Kate, keeping everything crossed Flowers

Umyeahnah · 07/02/2020 08:33

Seriously????????????

This is more fucked than I thought.

Hail the Almighty.

popehilarious · 07/02/2020 08:35

I think criminalizing someone for name calling is ridiculous. I also think creating multiple accounts was a bad idea. The police reaction was far OTT.

My main frustration at the whole thing is that certain characters go trawling Twitter looking for insults they can take to court and here Kate gave one of them exactly what they were after, which could've been easily avoided, but I guess I'm glad it's all getting out in the open.

warning: expect an increase in faux-naif goady posts (here and elsewhere) from the usual suspects looking for more report-fodder.
Don't feed them!

Hi all, and thanks for the reports.
We've made some deletions from this thread for speculation, and also troll hunting. Please do try and post within the guidelines or we may have to take this thread down.

Well I wouldn't want my history being brought up if it was irrelevant to a case I'm a victim in.

The judge must’ve been satisfied that ‘bad character’ WAS INDEED relevant, they even had a pre hearing to determine that it was.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 07/02/2020 09:17

Wishing Kate well today. Flowers

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 07/02/2020 09:23

You all being feminists and stuff.....

Lol. It doesn’t take long. Grin

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 07/02/2020 09:29

Wise words Pope

Rooting for you today Kate. If you're reading. Wishing you strength and sending love.

May the judge (or magistrates?) be clear sighted.

QuentinWinters · 07/02/2020 09:39

It sounds like it is relevant because on of the things Hayden is upset about is a tweet that said they were " a very, very sick individual. I have evidence of that.'"
I'm assuming the defence want to demonstrate this tweet isnt unreasonable (unless misgendering is a crime) and they cant do that unless bad character evidence is allowed.
Honestly though, when you look at some of the horrific stuff female MPs get tweeted and that's not in court

AutumnCrow · 07/02/2020 10:07

The whole thing is quite extraordinary. I wonder if the Twitter execs are even remotely bothered about the outcome of the case for its users.

norijunior · 07/02/2020 11:16

Good luck Kate. I went to the court today to watch/support but they said there were no spare seats.

suspended · 07/02/2020 11:17

Yes that is what I am worried about - this has massive impact on not just Twitter, but social networking in general.

MsMcWibble · 07/02/2020 11:18

A while ago I wondered about the abuse Caroline Farrow said she was getting on Twitter, so I went through the timeline of a certain individual. I've just been back through the many, many screenshots I took. I think I found 45 mentions of Caroline from that person in a few days.
What I noticed this time was that it wasn't just this individual who was involved, it was also their friends. One in particular. What counts as harassment these days?

MsMcWibble · 07/02/2020 11:20

Oh and good luck to Kate.

happydappy2 · 07/02/2020 11:50

McWibble it appears that women just have to accept banter & intimidation (sometimes on a daily basis just walking down the street) whereas transwomen can pull out the old 'hate crime' card.
It is beyond belief that a fully grown XY individual has more protection under the law, than a woman.

MsMcWibble · 07/02/2020 11:53

Seems to be the case though, happy.
I am sincerely scared by what is happening to women.

goldfinchfan · 07/02/2020 12:23

You have my support too.

AmIInvisible · 07/02/2020 13:01

SH is bringing the charge of using a public communications network to cause annoyance, inconvenience and anxiety......we could all claim XY individuals using twitter claiming to be women causes us annoyance and anxiety.

I'm not sure this is a very wise move for SH though considering the tweets she and the good Dr have aimed at Caro and if the judge sides with the prosecution on this point, could be the end of twitter as we all know and love it.

Melroses · 07/02/2020 13:03

Whilst this trial is going on, the 'friends' keeping ramping up the abuse against other women. And the police do nothing Sad

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/02/2020 13:45

The judicial system, the police and Twitter to this point have demonstrated repeatedly that what is sauce for the goose is definitely not sauce for the gander.

Demonstrating too that however the gander wishes to frame their sense of identity, it will involve selective and beneficial aspects only. The geese remain stuck with the unwanted aspects that cannot be identified out of. And all of the sauce.

andyoldlabour · 07/02/2020 15:00

Best of luck to Kate. The comments after the Mail article were pretty unanimous - a complete waste of police and judicial time and resources.
