I only know who they are due to DD watching their make up videos. They were on BBC 3s Glow Up program as a guest judge.
Apparently they were being blackmailed and so came out in a video, which is a bit shit for them.

I am stunned. I've watched her videos for ages and had no inkling at all.

I feel really really sorry for her. How awful to be blackmailed.

PracticallyFamous · 14/01/2020 11:36

Am I the only person in the world who has never watched a YouTube make up video?!

Nope, but then I don't wear make-up.

Can I ask why some people immediately switch to they/them pronouns as soon as somebody's revealed to be trans? She clearly prefers she/her and it seems like an attack on her to ignore that.

"Attack"? By using neutral language to describe someone born male who presents as feminine? If you think that's an "attack" you need to get out more. Maybe get out to any event where women want to gather to discuss the issues affecting them. You'll almost certainly see a few "attacks" there and I can guarantee a) they won't be by the women and b) they'll be a damn sight more damaging than the use of civil neutral language.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 14/01/2020 11:41

Nikki says that her mother "knew" from pregnancy that Nikki was a girl, and that when Nikki was born, was still a girl despite her biology

Ffs. Mentally unstable parent who clearly wanted a baby girl puts all their baggage onto their child. How is that not abuse?

UpfieldHatesWomen · 14/01/2020 11:42

Can I ask why some people immediately switch to they/them pronouns as soon as somebody's revealed to be trans? She clearly prefers she/her and it seems like an attack on her to ignore that. Because Mumsnet censors women who wish to use the correct sex-based pronouns to refer to transwomen as 'he', so using 'they' is a way to avoid being coerced into accepting the misogynistic view of what it is to be a woman that gender ideology promotes. Not intended as an attack on any individual, but an assertion of women that we should be allowed to define ourselves for ourselves and not be dictated to by males. Y'know, feminism.

NotBadConsidering · 14/01/2020 11:52

Never heard of this person but I think it’s great. Hopefully those 12 million followers will now get an insight into the inevitable health problems that come from hormone therapy started on children.

Sorry my op went up to standard, I've been on MN for years , I'm not fishing for screenshots. I am GC but realise my op wasn't very well formed.
Nikkie has a massive fanbase of a young girls, I don't think hearing the 'born in the wrong body/ I liked pink and dolls so therefore I'm a girl' is beneficial for them to hear, especially coming from someone they look up to.
I saw Nikkie for the first time on Glow Up and I presumed at the time they were trans.
They seem to be a nice person, but I doubt they would have come out without the threat of being exposed.
It's very dishonest, imo, not to tell your partner.

Poor nikki
100% all round.
Poor nikki

Complete aside, but why did someone get triggered about Dutch women being tall? They are the tallest nation on earth?
www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/maps-and-graphics/the-tallest-and-shortest-countries-in-the-world/

And yes, there are tall women (I'm 6ft) all round the world, but it's a fair comment to say tall women are more common in the Netherlands.

Cohle · 14/01/2020 12:18

Good for her. The fact she has been blackmailed into this is awful.

It seems a shame that the only kind of transwomen some FWR posters think should be allowed to be discussed here are AGP perverts.

rocketmen · 14/01/2020 12:21

She's a trans woman. She's transitioned in every way possible the people here seem to want trans women to transition and people still won't offer her the basic respect of she/her pronouns. It's quite sad.

sickandtiredofsick · 14/01/2020 12:23

I don’t understand so she wants to change to be male or she was born biologically male but has already transitioned to be female ?

UpfieldHatesWomen · 14/01/2020 12:26

rocketmen where do you get the impression that 'people here' want 'full transition'? There's no such thing as full transition anyway, sex change is impossible, facts aren't hate.

Callmejudith · 14/01/2020 12:26

She has already transitioned.

sickandtiredofsick · 14/01/2020 12:26

Ah ok I get it now I was confused which way round

Floisme · 14/01/2020 12:27

Coco is a long-standing poster, as a simple search would have confirmed.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 14/01/2020 12:28

What about respect for women, and not being defined as female according to if you like playing with Barbie and makeup? That's offensive and everything feminists have been fighting against.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/01/2020 12:28

Interesting the number of 'I never realised' type comments on this thread. I thought GC women always claimed they could spot every trans person a mile off

Nope...

Sympathies for Nikkie, dreadful that she was being bkackmailed

sickandtiredofsick · 14/01/2020 12:31

Well if never have guessed in a million years and not that it matters but I really wouldn’t have. I think it’s her body shape you don’t associate Such a feminine fuller figure with being transgender do you

coffeeagogo · 14/01/2020 12:31

Erm can we give it a rest with 6 foot thing - I’m 6,1 and it isn’t that unusual these days and not all of us are slim and dainty - I’m in my 40s and when I was at school back in the day there were 3 of us over 6’ in my class then

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 14/01/2020 12:33

You're ok Lang I haven't got a clue either...

Ah the first rule of misogyny Robin: women are responsible for what men do

fuckitywhy · 14/01/2020 12:43

I'm in the "no shit Sherlock" camp myself. How awful that a mum can have that narrative from day one though. Kids have no chance.

staydazzling · 14/01/2020 12:55

i had no idea, genuinely, im 5'9 over size 8 feet, not all women are dainty

UpfieldHatesWomen · 14/01/2020 13:03

No, Robin some men are a threat to women, that is what is discussed here. Acknowledging this fact in the discussion of women's rights does not lead to some random chancer blackmailing a transwoman YouTuber. By your logic women's rights should never be discussed in case it leads to someone somewhere committing a crime. Very convenient way to silence women.

sanluca · 14/01/2020 13:13

Interesting the number of 'I never realised' type comments on this thread. I thought GC women always claimed they could spot every trans person a mile off

Because seeing a person on a youtube video from shoulders up and no visible adams apple due to their build is exactly the same as meeting a person of the same build in person and clocking they are male......
