When she watched clips of herself babbling nonsensically about what a woman is does she think she's doing a solid job and representing her party and its manifesto well? I can never figure out if the people spouting this stuff have enough self awareness to understand how they look to other people.

Being aware of how you're perceived by others is a fairly key skill for a politician.

She manages to put together a coherent answer to all the other questions she's asked and on this one she stumbles and falters. She's had plenty of time to come up with answers, and she has a team of advisers who could have come up with answers for her. But she still has no answer to the simple question "what is a woman?"

Looking at Jo's face, I am 100% convinced that she is not a true believer of this nonsense. She is foolish politician who has picked a position when in her political bubble and is getting ripped apart on it when leaving that space. Literally, every word she has uttered is riddled with self doubt.

Voters can smell bullshit.

I think it's great that she's being so persistent in putting herself out there on this issue.

After Thursday, when the ruins of her election campaign can be properly surveyed, it will become dazzlingly apparent to all politicians what a career-terminating position this is to take.

She really should watch herself and think about why she comes across as such an idiot on this topic. I'm sure it wouldn't take her long to realise it's because her position makes no sense. Maybe she's already realised this, but politicians don't generally like to admit they've got something wrong.

There is a medical assessment for a GRC. TRAs would like you to imagine invasive and humiliating tests. In fact, no physical examination is required and you don't even necessarily need a doctor to do it, just someone with appropriate expertise.

Personally I don't feels she's got any in-depth insight into this. She's been briefed on a stock answer and she's not followed certain scenarios through nor heard from abused women who have a deep fear of any man.

It is craven opportunism, that is politics.

I do not even think she is good at craven opportunism, there is nagging conscience there, you can hear it in her voice, see it on her face. Right now she is probably wondering what she is doing.

Boris would have lied with no regrets and not given it a second thought.

I don't believe any woman who's had a baby can possibly believe that biological sex isn't a thing. Some may claim to, but I doubt any of them would come across any more convincingly than Swinson with a camera stuck in their face and someone grilling them.
