Just that. I feel like the only option available to me is spoiling my ballot which is clearly a terrible waste.

I’ve held my nose and voted Labour (postal vote). I don’t feel good about it though.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 07/12/2019 20:03

Lib dem. Despite completely disagreeing with them on this issue, but there isn't any party which has a GC stance.

Fantasisa · 07/12/2019 20:06

Lib Dems have explicitly told us they don't want our votes. So they won't be getting mine. And Labour isn't even pro-Remain. It beggars belief.

CatInTheDaytime · 07/12/2019 20:06

I’m not happy about it but snp. It’s that or not voting - I can’t vote for anyone else. It was down to my green and snp candidates and the snp one is seemingly GC or open to it, while the green one is wokey mcwokeface.

GirlsInGreen · 07/12/2019 20:07

I live in a huge Lab Maj constituency - so i'll be writing
WOMEN DONT HAVE COCKS and ticking every box in the hope someone will look at it.

SirVixofVixHall · 07/12/2019 20:08

Probably Plaid, definitely not Labour . May even vote Tory, as I care more about Women’s rights than I do about Brexit.

womanaf · 07/12/2019 20:09

LD. Not happy about it but small chance we can remove a useless non-GC Tory here. Am taking the new light that’s being shone on self-id as a win.

Yesterday, post Swinson on WH I was def spoiling ballot, but then BJ pissed me off again.

firawla · 07/12/2019 20:11

Labour, as the Lib Dem attitude towards this has made me never want to vote for them again.

Uncompromisingwoman · 07/12/2019 20:13

First time I have no idea who to cast my vote for. They're all reprehensible and frankly dangerous to women and children. May well end up spoiling my ballot.

Xiaoxiong · 07/12/2019 20:15

Same as you woman - local Tory MP is almost completely invisible and the only party potentially able to unseat would be the LibDems.

It's Hobson's choice though isn't it. I couldn't bear to vote Labour and have someone turn around and say I voted for a "Brexit supporting party" the way they did last time, among many other things. I can't bear to vote Tory because of Brexit, among many other things. The Lib Dems I agree with many of their policies except seemingly anything to do with women.

Xiaoxiong · 07/12/2019 20:17

Ironic as the Lib Dems cancelled my membership and direct debit over this a year ago when I wrote to them to ask whether they really meant GC women's votes weren't welcome.

Babamamananarama · 07/12/2019 20:19

Labour, because the gender issue isn't something that is going to be solved in this election but we've got to play the long game and in my view it's absolutely imperative that the Tories don't get in.

I can absolutely understand the very strong sentiment that is felt on this issue but would plead with people not to spoil their ballot. This is an election where in many places every vote counts, and we are at real risk of the Tories making the lives of a great many children, women, poor and disabled people even more unlivable. And I'm hugely worried about the deliberate degradation of our democratic processes too.

teawamutu · 07/12/2019 20:20

Spoiling, probably. Live in a very safe seat so my vote makes little difference either way.

Can't vote Labour, Lib Dem or Green. Cannot possibly stomach voting for Johnson's Brexit. Leaves nothing.

Littlelamp456 · 07/12/2019 20:21

May even vote Tory, as I care more about Women’s rights than I do about Brexit.

I would hope that extends to a woman’s right to:

  • be able to feed her children
  • not have to sleep on the streets
  • have free legal representation if she needs it
  • fund her health services
  • fund her refuges, crisis and counselling
  • be able to leave her husband without waiting destitute for 6 weeks with her children while she waits for UC

Just saying, please think about what women’s rights the Tory’s are actually advocating for and how much harm they are causing so many women.

Vote for whoever you want obviously it’s just statements like this that get my back up.

I’m voting tactically to get them out.

GCAcademic · 07/12/2019 20:22

I am spoiling my ballot, but I live in a very safe Tory seat.

Fantasisa · 07/12/2019 20:24

If we can't even be called women anymore, there is nothing else.

avocadoze · 07/12/2019 20:28

Holding my nose and voting Lib Dem. Brexit and Marxism damage all of the population: at least the Lib Dem policies only really hurt half of it.

Duchessofealing · 07/12/2019 20:30

Have voted Tory (postal vote), the country got a say in Brexit even if I don’t agree, but we are being steamrollered over what a woman is.

soapboxqueen · 07/12/2019 20:33

The are only two possible (short of divine intervention) outcomes to this election. Tory government or hung parliament. That's it.

If you want a tory government or are not bothered about having a tory government - vote tory, spoil your ballot, don't vote.

If you want a not-tory government - vote for whomever has the best chance of defeating or keeping out a tory MP.

These are the options.

I totally get why people don't want to vote for any of them. I really do. They are all a pile of shite. I'm so angry that I'm in this position due to just shear fucking stupidity, arrogance and misogyny of the parties but we are where we are.

We can't fight all the battles at once. Pretty much everything is still to play for but I fear a majority tory parliament will actually be dangerous in a way we haven't seen in a long time.

RubyViolet · 07/12/2019 20:34

In a Labour safe seat, won’t vote Tory and Lib Dem’s have lost the plot so maybe Green. Still can’t decide have always voted Labour.

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 07/12/2019 20:35

I'm in an odd situation where it's a Tory safe seat, the council is LD/Con - I've not ever had a Labour leaflet through the door and only seen 1-2 Labour posters in the last 10 years... however last GE Labour were second ahead of the LD. Was it a blip? I'd very much like to see the back of the Tory guy but the Lib Dems don't want my vote even though I don't want to waste it on Labour.

RoyalCorgi · 07/12/2019 20:39

I'm GC and pro-Remain. I'm in a Tory marginal - the Tory will probably win but the only candidate who might beat him is Labour. The other parties are far behind. So I will vote Labour. I believe there are enough GC women in the Labour Party to fight self-ID successfully.

OverByYer · 07/12/2019 20:40

In a totally safe Labour seat.
But I will be spoiling my paper as no one deserves my vote
Can’t vote Tory for what they have done to public services
Won’t vote Labour because Corbyn and anti semitism
Won’t vote LD for their stance on Self ID

Squigglypig2 · 07/12/2019 20:44

LD. All of the parties are shit on this and I want to send the clearest message possible re remain and also I am not happy with the two main parties going so extreme again. I'm in a safe labour seat so it won't make any difference to outcome but will increase LD vote share.

lazylinguist · 07/12/2019 20:44

Voting LD in spite of their self ID stance. Where I live is pretty much safe LD seat. Tactical voting advice for my constituency says vote LD if you don't want Tories to win the seat.
