Does MN have a problem with trans people? **MNHQ edited title as OP has apologised for 'accusatory' tone**

Seem to be threads constantly on the issue of trans.

Why?

Is it because it conflicts with the idea of sex as a construct?

Is it an age thing?

There must be mums on here with trans kids - do you just stay out of it?

Why the obsession with the idea of being attacked by trans women? Is it not the modern equivalent of homophobic blokes all thinking gay men want to rape them?

If your reaction to fear is to scream "paedo" and "rapist" then you probably shouldn't be allowed out unsupervised by a professional.

Cross-dressing people
This is a term used to describe people who dress, either occasionally or more regularly, in clothes normally associated with another gender, as defined by socially accepted norms. People cross-dress either privately or publicly for a variety of reasons and many crossdressers do not identify as trans. This replaces the term transvestite which many people find offensive

TinselAngel · 27/11/2019 18:06

Ask how many of the trans widows ex's started off as cross dressers and ended up as trans women, then you'll find out whether cross dressers are transgender or not.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:06

For someone who said they didn't know you sure are arguing with me a lot.

BovaryX · 27/11/2019 18:06

Eyes, According to your incredibly plausible story, your cousin was attacked by two women in front of a security guard and because of this all men should have access to women’s toilets as a collective punishment?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:07

Eyezswideshut

The term is under the Transgender umbrella.

Eyezswideshut · 27/11/2019 18:08

She was verbally attacked by 2 women who then got a security guard who tried to resolve the situation, yes. I believe he said to the woman that my cousin is a woman and apologised to them as well as her.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:08

many crossdressers do not identify as trans

This is meaningless anyone can identify or not as 'trans'.

RedDogsBeg · 27/11/2019 18:08

They might be a subset of men but I think we have agreed that data about men cannot be extrapolated to trans women.

We have certainly not agreed on that. Trans woman are male, they are of the male sex class, therefore statistics relating to male violence and sexual assault very much do include them as a class.

BovaryX · 27/11/2019 18:09

And as a consequence, you believe all men should have access to women’s toilets as a collective punishment? Is that your position?

Gertrudesgarden · 27/11/2019 18:10

Nope, I haven't agreed to that, either. Don't put words in my mouth, lovie duck. I bite.

Eyezswideshut · 27/11/2019 18:12

@CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost

Another fantastic try but if you read the text in the image, Stonewall say it is someone who wears clothes for the opposite gender.

As trans people and Stonewall see trans women as women and trans men as men, someone who was born male and occasionally wears female clothes wouldn't be cross dressing if they identify as a trans woman. They'd simply be wearing clothes appropriate to their gender identification. For a trans woman to cross dress, they would be wearing male clothes according to Stonewall. Again, really good try and well done for trying to reference your points.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:12

Stonewall who are lobbing to change the law are telling you Crossdressers are under the transgender umbrella.

RedDogsBeg · 27/11/2019 18:12

And if we are going to treat them like predators based on the fact that they are a subset of men then we should be treating men men as definitely dangerous

And we do treat men as a potential danger to women and children when they are in positions of vulnerability which is why we have sex segregated spaces, safeguarding, etc., etc. ffs.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:13

Look at the fucking picture i uploaded of the Umbrella graphic!

popehilarious · 27/11/2019 18:14

eyez are you genuinely, really, saying that if you see someone in a female toilet who doesn't conform to your standards of feminine appearance, they should be QUESTIONED about it? Yet you claim to be trans-inclusive? You are not. You would get torn to shreds on trans twitter if you said that.

OldCrone · 27/11/2019 18:14

From my limited understanding, cross dressing is a sexual fetish and isnt about gender or sex identity so your point is moot, lovie ducks. Really good effort though.

Oh dear, haven't you seen the Stonewall trans umbrella?

ALL CROSSDRESSERS DO THIS!

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 27/11/2019 18:15

That's what a cross dresser is!

ScapaFlo · 27/11/2019 18:18

We haven't agreed anything of the sort that data about men cannot be extrapolated to transwomen. They are one and the same thing, except some transwomen take hormones, some transwomen have had surgery, and most transwomen pose no threat to anyone at all, just like most men.

popehilarious · 27/11/2019 18:18

So to sum up:
Eyez doesn't really know what 'trans' is
Eyez demonstrates eyez doesn't understand that risk of a group doesn't directly translate to risk of every individual within that group
Eyez cannot answer what 'living as a woman' is - I assume due to Eyez' previous posts it's something to do with appearance
Eyez denies that a large part of the trans umbrella is actually trans
Eyez thinks one incident that allegedly happened to a woman being shouted at in a toilet means that all women should be denied the protection of sex-segregated spaces, yet cannot walk through the logic of this.
