Well @theflushedzebra - I've just spent 20 minutes reading the product reviews for a particular pair of brazilian silk and lace knickers on their website. A review from a woman might get 2 or 3 likes at most. A review from a man buying for his wife or gf might get the same. A review by a man that explicitly says 'i wear them and love them' gets about 30 likes. If they've got a single data analyst looking at their website - they know.

My tongue-in-cheek suggestion of a separate Lingerie for Men department- with it's own fitting room - perhaps isn't looking so daft after all. Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 07:23

True. I’m sure there’s a line out there for men’s lacy pants with extra space for the ‘differences’ and passing for where boobage is ‘lacking’ (who are they kidding - squishing your fat chest does not look like cleavage).

They don't want their own though, do they? They want to force women to take part in their fetish.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 07:31

Maybe if they add some photo booths to the fitting rooms - for the full experience?

TimeLady · 12/11/2019 07:34

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to look at men 'browsing' in the lingerie department with completely different eyes from now on.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 07:36

‘That’s not your colour... try the XXL... too sluttish... for wearing around the home or at work...?’

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 07:53

Now I wonder how many 'females' are posting reviews in the lingerie section.

I'll be checking the tone from now on.

It's all a bit 'Are you being served', (except this is more sinister).

Justabaker · 12/11/2019 08:01

I think a big part of the kink here is identifying as a male. If they 'identified' as female then no one would know they are men. And it would be more difficult for their pervy mates to find and up arrow their reviews.

I may send this one off to the Daily Mail. Sorry, I know its a rag but this is the kind of cheap nasty stuff they love.

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 08:04

the missing link
You're not wrong there Kittens. Grin

LizziesTwin · 12/11/2019 08:09

I thought the same @justabaker

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 08:12

Justabaker
You are sooo right, leaving a review as a female doesn't validate them, and it's a bat signal to other fetishers.

They've been flying under the radar on purpose.

This stuff is not designed to fit men anyway.

PocketDictionary · 12/11/2019 08:16

You know how gussets are sometimes not sewn down at the front? I need mind bleach.

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 08:21

Arghhhhhh
Well, every day is a school day.

Lamahaha · 12/11/2019 08:24

Actually, I'm amazed that it is even possible to try on knickers. I'm aware that when trying on swimsuits, you are supposed to keep on your own underwear. I would have thought it would be a huge hygiene problem with such scantiy pants? And I'm not convinced that some men trying them on would not come in them, for the thrill.
Swimsuits have plastic linings in the crotch. Do these knickers have such protection? And even if yes, it's not enough. It should not be possible to try on knickers, or return them once bought, unless enclosed in an unopened packet. I never would buy such things if they can be just tried on for size. ugh!

Write-up in The Tab for Jean Hatchet:

Woman goes to Sheffield M&S pretending she’s a man to protest transgender-inclusive changing rooms

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 08:25

Is. That. Really. Why. The. Gusset. Is. Not. Sewn. At. The Front.?

I've often wondered why that bit is left un-seamed. Does anyone know of another reason?

ChattyLion · 12/11/2019 08:25

What, are their cocks the same dimensions as a tampon string? Confused

TimeLady · 12/11/2019 08:31

Apparently it's easier (thus quicker & cheaper) to leave that opening unstitched.

LizziesTwin · 12/11/2019 08:34

Jean’s brought it up with screenshots on Twitter. Thank you @Jeanhatchet

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 08:37

I have never tried on pants, bra or swimsuit in a store. Never ever. Do people do this? Or is it just an ‘extreme lingerie shopping’ hobby?

PiedImperial · 12/11/2019 08:37

Wow. Those knicker reviews are Envy ( not envy). I have just reported some of them as being "inappropriate".

They ask for a reason why, and I may have said something about this being the sort of person we don't want allowed in female changing rooms...

Elodie2019 · 12/11/2019 08:43

Glad JP is talking to the people at the top. You know, the ones making the decisions and policies.
Shooting the messenger (sales staff in M&S Sheffield who have no say re. HO policy ) is bad form.
The quest for publicity worked but what can sales staff do about the situation in reality, day to day?

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 08:44

I've never tried on underwear or swimming costumes.
Because. Obvious hygiene reasons.
Reinforced by the use of plastic sticker. Ugh.

Now I have begun to think this has been a man thing for quite a long time.

LizziesTwin · 12/11/2019 08:46

I’ve tried all 3 on in a shop. If I’m trying on a bra, which I’d have to do as they all fit slightly differently & I like the pants I want to know what size. Same for bikinis & swimsuits. I don’t want to have to return things.
