Love that the men are describing their curves in their frilly panties.

You say curves.

I say the only thing in those pants is a cu..

not a proper one

NumbersStation · 12/11/2019 00:05

And my boycott is going strong.

Get it up ye M&S.

WrathofSIxFootSixElf · 12/11/2019 00:08

M&S lingerie reviews are likely to be strictly moderated soon... because...
Wanking Men.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 12/11/2019 00:08

Well, you see, some straight lines identify as being curved.

Melroses · 12/11/2019 00:15

The first time I noticed a male review I naively thought it was a mistake

Me too - it was about 3 years ago when I was looking for a full underslip to go under a 'factory dress'. I was looking for something I would consider a bit old fashioned like my grandma wore with lace on. The review said it was sexy and the reviewer wore it in bed Confused

I mean the things are supposed to give structure and lining to dresses and make rather nasty synthetic bedwear.

There were plenty more reviews - thought maybe it was women using their husband's account lol. Know better now.

Datun · 12/11/2019 00:18

I honestly think there's a sort of Dr Who perception filter over these fetishists.

M and S don't see them furiously wanking into their knickers or wanking over their reviews and promoting their mates' reviews. Thoroughly enjoying their misogyny and getting aroused at the power play violation of women and their clothes.

Somehow it's sanitised. The women aren't being objectified and targeted. The power doesn't really lie with these men.

Hey M&S, publicly exclude them from everything female and watch what happens. Then you might get it.

NumbersStation · 12/11/2019 00:27

It won’t be feeling bloody sanitised when they are wiping it off the curtains and walls in their all inclusive cubicles.

Happiness25 · 12/11/2019 00:37

I’ve used the “report as inappropriate” button for all 5 men’s reviews of the tanga pants. I asked why they were publishing men’s comments about wearing ladies’ pants and if this was why they were allowing men into what used to be the women’s changing room.
I’ll check in a day or so to see if the reviews are still there.

CeridwenTheWitch · 12/11/2019 00:41

Oh my god those reviews! Wow, that is absolutely shocking. Full fetish on view and M&S not only allow it online, but welcomes these blokes into our changing rooms!

It would be funny if it wasn't so absolutely terrible, given that it means that female customers of M&S are forced to share changing rooms with these men.

I really, really hope all women boycott them. This isn't acceptable.

MrsSnippyPants · 12/11/2019 00:44

What fresh hell are these reviews?!

That’s it, I’m buying a fucking black light and it will live in my handbag.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 12/11/2019 00:47

The reviews are the missing link that answers the question of whether or not M&S knew what the results of opening the lingerie changing rooms to anyone male who'd like to access them would be.

Yes, yes they did, and apparently they think the presence of Wanking Men in spaces where tween girls are being fitted for their first bra is "progressive".

Great thread by the magnificent Jean Hatchett on a Marks & Sparks fact finding day!

theflushedzebra · 12/11/2019 00:52

These men (NAMALT obvs I hope!) have been slipping under the radar, yet are in plain sight Shock

Doing all this! In our changing rooms, posting photos on line, ringing Samaritans and other helplines about it - not for help - but to get off. Just ugh. And it's seen as "harmless" ?!

I'll never see a rack of M&S lingerie the same way again. I will just picture men wanking off in them. Thanks a lot M&S - we should re-christen you Men & S.

CeridwenTheWitch · 12/11/2019 00:54

Yes, seeing those reviews suddenly it all makes sense. M&S must have known for a while that a good proportion of their customers are men with a fetish, hence this decision to prioritise them over women. I'm so glad it's been made public, so we can all shop elsewhere and leave the fetishists to it.

finnmcool · 12/11/2019 03:18

Have all those reviews been screenshot and saved?

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/11/2019 04:24

Ceridon
I get what you’re saying but I wouldn’t have thought it’s a good proportion by a long shot. Maybe I’m naïve.

Isn’t it more likely that leaving a review is part of the thrill? Having 5 male and 5 female reviews on a particular pair of knickers doesn’t mean 50% of that item is sold to men to my mind. It means women are far less likely to leave a review. But perhaps I’m wrong? And what conclusions are M&S management coming to?

I now wonder if they’re actually capturing data on the proportion of sales of sexy lingerie to men and women. And then how do they ascertain if it’s for personal use or as a gift?

TimeLady · 12/11/2019 04:50

I've often wondered who bought/wore some of the more flamboyant offerings in M&S lingerie department. I rather assumed it was men buying for their female partners but now I'm beginning to wonder if M&S has had a crossdressing 'department within a department' all along.

Justabaker · 12/11/2019 06:36

They (the fetish men) have been hiding in plain sight for some time. No woman needs to read a review of knickers. FFS. You know from your experience as an actual human female what knickers you're prepared to wear and when. Comfy knickers, sexy yet less comfortable, thongs, tangas, boy pants. All have their place and time.

I'm with all the PPs - I think M&S knows and has known for some time and has gone from:

  • shuddering in horror and hoping no one figures it out to
  • looking the other way to
  • chasing the fetish pound.

I also think that there are deep psychological reasons why its M&S. And its all part and parcel of the pathology and 'sissification'. Don't google it or if you do clean your cookie cache immediately after. Bleah.

I've got a sewing machine and I know how to use it. I may start making my own.

Justabaker · 12/11/2019 06:49

Update. In the name of market research, I went to Amazon, searched for 'black lace lingerie' and chose a 'decorative' bra and knicker set. Decorative in that is clearly meant to worn briefly and then removed if you know what I mean. That bra couldn't support the boobs of an ant.

Anyway. Good news and bad news in the product reviews. There were actually 82 product reviews. Only 3 or so seemed obviously pervy. But the highest rate and longest review was absolutely from a fetishist man.

So, it's not just M&S but clearly M&S is 'destination shopping' for perverts.

It’s official; Marks and Spencer have fallen, the sequel.......
theflushedzebra · 12/11/2019 06:56

I'm struggling to believe that M&S are deliberately putting the male fetishists above their core customers - women.

I think it's an ill-advised trans-inclusive policy ("let's make everything gender neutral") and as a result the male fetishists are whooping.

Writing reviews/liking each other's reviews/putting up pictures/general exhibitionism is definitely part of the fetish. These men are not trans, they identify as male. They have a fetish, a paraphilia - they need counselling, not a free ticket into the women's changing rooms Envy

LizziesTwin · 12/11/2019 07:07

The reviews by men with lots of likes are under masses of women’s pants. I’m relieved that I tend to buy very simple cotton underwear but never again from anywhere where there are reviews as I’m sure the ability to review encourages this behaviour, it’s a form of exhibitionism.

SarahTancredi · 12/11/2019 07:10

They also seen to add in more detail than necessary.

Looks great under a dress. I bought black to go with my matching bra. No need to re adjust all day. Tight Jean's etc...

All the womens ones : poor quality m&s

Hmm
littlecabbage · 12/11/2019 07:12

I don't think they are necessarily trying to encourage fetishists over actual women - they must know that women make up a far, far higher proportion of the target market.

I just think they've been brainwashed by Stonewall into believing that TWAW, and have decided that to deny TW anything that actual women have access to, is "transphobic". I bet they thought us women would either agree with this policy, or wouldn't notice.

I think that with continued protests and boycotting, there is hope that they will see sense.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 07:14

I guess they think ‘a sale isn’t a sale’ and don’t think that encouraging one set of sales discourages a hell of a lot more.
