I love this woman. Constantly campaigning, body positive intersectional feminist.

“When one critic claimed trans women “are erasing women’s rights” and told Jamil to “sit down”, the body-positivity campaigner replied: “Why don’t you sit down? I am a full time feminist activist. I am also a trans advocate, and I in no way see trans women as ANY threat to our fight.
“To include them is true feminism. The propaganda against them makes them appear to be interrupting our cause, but it’s nonsense.”

If only more people were like her 🧡

The video Magdalen Berns did about Everyday Feminism illustrates this very well.

KettlePolly · 31/10/2019 09:34

I posted a link to that earlier in the thread. I agree!

Ereshkigal · 31/10/2019 09:43

Ooh sorry, missed that!

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 31/10/2019 10:07

They've appropriated it to form some sort of weak catch-all social justice movement. Because it was only ever going to be women who would be expected not to centre our own needs in our own liberation movement.

Yep. See this (fucking ridiculous I know but bear with me) article in the Independent this week.

The core objective of feminism to dismantle all forms of oppression is always abandoned by anti-trans campaigners.

Women being told what 'the core objective of feminism' is by a male. It's 'to dismantle all forms of oppression' apparently....

TinselAngel · 31/10/2019 12:04

I wonder why it's on women to dismantle all forms of oppression?

Ereshkigal · 31/10/2019 13:06

It's 'to dismantle all forms of oppression' apparently....

Oh how surprising. With no time left for the sex based rights of women and girls, no doubt.

Could it be more blatant a takeover?

Ereshkigal · 31/10/2019 13:23

I wonder why it's on women to dismantle all forms of oppression?

It isn't, because feminism is "for all genders" so we can expect that males will step up to do some work on this any time now.

Just like the "feministying" men did at the Toronto Libray the other night :)

Back to the original post, if you think TW are actual women you've got to be a bit short of thinking.

AdultFishcakes · 31/10/2019 14:00

I think the OP just decided to plop out a talking point that IMVHO has been done to death here.

IsadoraQuagmire · 31/10/2019 14:26

She's a tedious fool.

BloodyCats · 31/10/2019 16:01

Does anyone follow Jayde Adams? She’s not afraid to call her out on various things she’s said, also very funny.

Glamrou went to Eton and Cambridge but harrasses women who want the 'privilege' of pissing in pease.

Haworthia · 31/10/2019 19:19

You know that cliched old saying “don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out”. That’s Jameela.

Literally just stumbled across this on Twitter, too.

SunsetBeetch · 03/11/2019 15:46

This is the woman who slags off Kim K for wearing make up but thinks pornified Bergdof is a dazzling example of humanity.

Yeah...it's almost as if certain people are held to different standards, and can "get away" with more...

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 03/11/2019 21:35

The only thing Jameela Jamil is interested in promoting is Jameela Jamil - before she jumped onto the woke bandwagon no one had the faintest bloody clue who she was. Her latest Twitter attacks on a Guardian journalist* who dared write the most faintly questioning article about Jamil's latest wheeze, "body neutrality", is really OTT. We should all just ignore her.

*(And I can't stand the Guardian)

allmywhat · 03/11/2019 22:03

Every time I see this thread title it gets funnier. I think between them OP and Jameela have redefined "iconic."

TinselAngel · 03/11/2019 23:27

And isn't it iconic...don't you think
A little too iconic ...and, yeah, I really do think...

TinselAngel · 03/11/2019 23:41

Sorry that keeps going round in my head whenever I see the thread title.
