It increasingly feels like we should treat witch hunts against individual women as attacks on women as a class.

I thought women here might appreciate a thread to show their support for Allison. I don't know her personally, but I believe in all women's right to free speech.

I stand with Alison.

The person who started that petition has been dragging Allison on twitter all weekend, making a lot of false claims, all of them quite vile.

Turns out the person is a non-passing transman in a queer relationship with a cis-queer man. (I think that's a bio woman in a relationship with a bio man!)

god, Owen Jones really doesn't get it, does he? The comment about cunnilingus is in reference to the cotton ceiling, this idea popular with some woke types that female bodied lesbians should have sex with male bodied trans women who identify as lesbians.

Owen is really not intelligent, he has clung to a script of what he should believe, and has never dared to critically examine his beliefs. That doesn't just apply to this debate.

I don't think the chambers will take much notice other than the standard brush off "we promise to take your complaint seriously" emails they have sent already. They are legal barristers, not moral ones.

They represent murderers and child abusers if they have to. Foolish indentifarians know so little about the way the world operates and yet preach at everyone from their position of stupidity.

It's also telling that Julie Bindel is also getting piled or calling out this attack on lesbians.

It makes you wonder whether he really is totally un- reflective, or whether he just feels that he cannot now admit any fault at all....He is getting himself into a right old mess, whatever the case.

As I understand it a barristers’ chambers is effectively a partnership of barristers. They own or re t the building and employ the clerks and pupils and cleaners/outside clerks. Can anyone explain a bit more?

Bought and wrote my card today then realised I've run out of stamps. Balls! So it will go tomorrow. Kind of hoping that a steady stream of cards through the week will be a good thing to show strength of support for Allison.
