I stand with Allison Bailey

It increasingly feels like we should treat witch hunts against individual women as attacks on women as a class.

I thought women here might appreciate a thread to show their support for Allison. I don't know her personally, but I believe in all women's right to free speech.

I stand with Alison.

Mine is a 'just to say' blank card. Inside I've just thanked her and told her how important her work is and that she has support.

Just a note from an ordinary woman.

YogaDrone · 27/10/2019 11:16

I stand by Allison 100%. How she must have fought to get to her position only to find that her chambers are now selling her out to homophobic, sexist bullies. FlowersFlowersFlowers

JustAnotherMammi · 27/10/2019 11:18

Mine is more of a letter card. Just stating she has support and I hope she will soon be back at work with it being laughed at how ridiculous it was to begin with. That I hope it will be quickly concluded that women and LGB shouldn't be silenced etc. Giving her my best wishes. X

Standing with Alison

MrGsFancyNewVagina · 27/10/2019 11:24

I hope she has someone sifting through the cards, because I’m sure the poor bullied woman will be receiving horrible stuff too. We need to make sure she’s knows how much we admire her strength of character.

teawamutu · 27/10/2019 11:33

So much woke.

Just seen on another thread, a poster has noticed Kathleen Stock has pointed out on Twitter

‘Anyone unsure about why gardencourtlaw has reacted in so publicly partisan a matter to BluskyeAllison’s involvement in the new AllianceLGB may be interested to know that the Trans Equality Legal Initiative (TELI) are based there. Check out their propagandistic feed’

This connection with the well funded “strategic litigation” organisation (ie to test the law where possible to favour gender ID) explains why garden chambers are so keen to crack down on anyone questioning the party line.

HandsOffMyRights · 27/10/2019 11:36

Allison's tweet from earlier.
I admire her integrity, courage and dignity in the face of such bullying and cowardice.

I've used funky pigeon to send a post card, that way anyone from the post office to the office junior can read it.

I stand with Alison.

youkiddingme · 27/10/2019 11:46

I'm very new to all this, and can get very anxious. Just a quick check, is there anything I really should or shouldn't put in the card? Thanks for any heads-up from those of you who know what you're doing!

greenapplesred12 · 27/10/2019 11:49

gosh, Allison is a brave woman. She's strong enough to say what she thinks, stand by what she believes. I hate that I can't/won't do this. She's much stronger than me. Huge respect for her.

greenapplesred12 · 27/10/2019 11:53

god, Owen Jones really doesn't get it, does he? The comment about cunnilingus is in reference to the cotton ceiling, this idea popular with some woke types that female bodied lesbians should have sex with male bodied trans women who identify as lesbians. The idea that male bodied gay men would have sex with female bodied trans men who identify as gay men is risible. The subject doesn't come up and on the rare occasions it does and super woke gay men admit that they wouldn't have sex with a transman, that's considered fine.

zen1 · 27/10/2019 11:54

I also stand with Allison. I’m sick of women being hounded and ganged-up on. And I wish Owen Jones would STFU.

Waterl00 · 27/10/2019 11:57

The chambers have to say they will investigate complaints. That's what you do. Someone complains, it is investigated. It would have been a bit of a surprise if they responded to complaints by refusing to take them seriously.

Yes Allison is right, they have had to respond to the TRA hate mob, as usual, but they are publishing only neutral statements about taking complaints seriously and supporting equality.

I imagine the Stonewall factions within the chambers are going to come under serious strain here, it is about time too as the law being taught by Stonewall is seriously questionable if not downright false.

We need barristers to sort this out as it's such an emotive mess.

Michelleoftheresistance · 27/10/2019 12:01

I stand with Allison. This is appalling. Homophobia is now fine - so long as you exclusively aim it at women.

And yet more evidence of regulatory capture. Hang in there, Allison. #nowomanleftbehind

stillathing · 27/10/2019 12:02

I stand with Allison too.

ChattyLion · 27/10/2019 12:03

I stand with Allison, her individual targeting by the misogynistic authoritarian gender extremists only goes to show how needed the new LGB Alliance is and how power crazed and fucked up this culture war against women has got. Employers should be sticking up for their employees not investigating them. What has she possibly done anyway for anyone to investigate? ..Thought crime?Hmm Not being validating of men enough? HmmSticking up for lesbians to be lesbians in peace without men ‘lesbians’ trying to encroach on them? Hmm

Also Stonewall if it has any decency at all, will be out there tweeting its support for Allison and condemning individual personal attacks on her or any person simply trying to stick up for lesbian and gay or bi rights and for women. Come on, Stonewall.

ChipOnMyOvary · 27/10/2019 12:06

Alison has courage and integrity.Flowers

Pota2 · 27/10/2019 12:07

The chambers don’t have to say that they will investigate anything. They were responding to someone who doesn’t even have the balls to put his real name to his social media account. It was a totally spurious complaint anyway with zero evidence that she had said anything remotely controversial besides being a co-founder of an LGB group. If I co-founded an anti-racist group and a load of white pride idiots on twitter tagged my employer and said I was anti-white, would you expect them to even respond, let alone launch an investigation? Of course not.

She has had death threats and they have made no public statement. It’s very clear where their loyalties lie and they have fuck all to do with upholding anyone’s rights and everything to do with money.

GivesNoFox · 27/10/2019 12:12

As a gay women the level of cognitive dissonance and tantrum throwing from LGBTxyz123 media both astounds me and saddens me.

These people don't seem to grasp the the fact that just because something doesn't include you it doesn't automatically make it ANTI- you. Its like they have zero critical thinking skills.

I stand with Allison Bailey and the LGB alliance.

Woko haram can gurn themselves into human prunes for all I care.

FadingStar · 27/10/2019 12:17

For men like Jones, what women need and want matters not. Men are king.
