From The Fail unfortunately maybe someone can find another source but I cant see one atm.

They removed the feminine Venus symbol from its products after complaints

Glad to help you out Mon.

Again no, it wasn’t rude. It was based on your posts so I suggest we put it down to difference of opinion and move on.

PJsatMidday · 20/10/2019 21:02

This movement is like death by a thousand cuts. One petty thing after another, each one you think, "oh is it really that bad, can I be bothered to get het up about it?" And then you get to the position we find ourselves in today.

I can be as petty as I want with my spending decisions. I can spend my money on whatever I want to for whatever reason I want to. I am not going to feel belittled in doing so to assuage the latent guilt of someone else who doesn't want to stop using products by a company that holds adult human females in contempt..

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 21:04

You got it wrong. When you stated Always changed them to scented years ago, I had already said which pads I have to use. They didn't change them to scented years ago, it's a fairly recent change, probably in the last 6-9 months.

So not really a difference of opinion but very happy to move on.

WomanBornNotWorn · 20/10/2019 21:15

Why couldn't Always have simply provided a small percentage of their products in different packaging that wouldn't upset a tiny minority of users? And kept the reality-based packaging for the majority? = Everyone catered for.

Beamur · 20/10/2019 21:22

WomanBornNotWorn
I thought the same. Given the manufacturers of these products have about a billion different variations and packagings, why not do some with plain wrappers?
The lack of listening about women not liking scented products (and the inference that our parts smell) is bad enough but the capitulation and celebration over what seems like a minority complaint is a kick in the teeth.
Never will I buy Always again.
I bought a different fabric softener today too having been a longtime Lenor user.

CactusAndCacti · 20/10/2019 22:26

My sister was allergic to Lenor something like 40 years ago - never bought it ever.

I use Bodyform - the scent doesn't worry me, and I know it is probably hyperbole but too many MN users have said they can actually smell them when others are using scented pads that I have been put off for life.

Night is a worry - I am considering pants, but I am so irregular that it is a massive lay out for something that I may not need.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 20/10/2019 22:29

Tbh Mon I skim read your posts 😉

traceyracer · 20/10/2019 22:31

I may be playing devil's advocate a little but come on, all that should matter is whether the product is good at doing its job or not.

There are things to get angry about, IMO this isn't one of them.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 22:39

Tbh Mon I skim read your posts

You read them enough to jump on them, quote them and try to say I was wrong though. Anyway, I thought we were both moving on. Wink

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 22:41

Please check your facts before being rude

You started with the rude

Branleuse · 20/10/2019 22:41

Bodyform are more comfortable anyway

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 22:42

Apologies...i can see posters are moving on so thats all good

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 22:47

Yep, everyone is definitely moving on...😆

Hawkinsxmaslights · 20/10/2019 22:51

If men want periods they are welcome to them!

I have been thinking about this one (I know this is really about trans that were born a woman BTW) but if men really want to be a women I suggest something to give the pain for 7 days this should be offered along side standard treatments.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 22:56

mon

Yep...also moving Grin

In the direction of bed in my case

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 20/10/2019 22:58

Indeed. Plain packaging. Adult feminine packaging, teen packaging, star-wars packaging, support a good cause packaging, environmentally friendly packaging. The list is long with opportunities for profit.

So honestly P&G Why get rid of the packaging with a female symbol on?

Is it the same reason that you won't manufacture non-scented towels?

If transwomen contacted Always saying they want the venus symbol on the packaging since it re-affirms their identity, who would P&G listen to?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/10/2019 06:42

Traceyracer I may be playing devil's advocate a little but come on, all that should matter is whether the product is good at doing its job or not.

There are things to get angry about, IMO this isn't one of them.

Perhaps you could advise the board of what is acceptable in your opinion to complain about then? As a pp said, this is not just one single thing in isolation, it is one of dozens, hundreds, of single things all mounting up.

I don't even use pads but I am annoyed by it and will certainly not be using other P&G products again. They don't want my custom? So be it.

Lamahaha · 21/10/2019 06:57

Haha. Today, two of my FB friends, who have never before made a gc comment, have posted their anger at Always because of this, and say they'll boycott the brand! Peak trans! I liked both posts, outing myself, I suppose. I can't share, though-- not yet.

Matereality · 21/10/2019 07:16

First Flora now Always. Why do they care so little about women, their main customers? Plenty of other brands are available and it's easy to switch.

Meh, their loss. A weird business decision but there you go.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/10/2019 07:59

Today, two of my FB friends, who have never before made a gc comment

Me too. A young woman I know who has never once commented on anything GC I have said. She shared the link to her friend who replied with an eyeroll and "FFS!"

If only Always would sponsor McKinnon, we'd have this circus fixed by lunchtime.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/10/2019 08:02

Wish I’d screen shotted the As by a tampon company for a trans solidarity promo. Trans woman in a ladies loo (basket of sanpro on the counter). Ummmm why not a trans man?

HandsOffMyRights · 21/10/2019 08:26

If only Always would sponsor McKinnon, we'd have this circus fixed by lunchtime.

Now that I need to see!

'Always - whatever your cycle or 'gender' '
