From The Fail unfortunately maybe someone can find another source but I cant see one atm.

Transgender lobby forces sanitary towel-maker Always to ditch Venus logo from its products

Sanitary towel pad maker now kowtows to transgender activists born female
They removed the feminine Venus symbol from its products after complaints
Butmany of Always’s female customers have responded angrily to the move
Sanitary towels with the new packaging will arrive in the stores by January 2020

Ridiculous

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 18:50

I don't care about parking threads. I really don't. So I do this thing where I don't click on them, or read them, or comment multiple times on them. Works for me

Not really the same though is it as I do care about women's rights. I had a view to share and I'm entitled to do that. I have concerns about some trans issues affecting women.

I will continue to comment on this thread as many times as I like. You can always just ignore my posts if you wish to. Wink

littlecabbage · 20/10/2019 18:52

I've emailed P&G explaining why I will no longer buy their products.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 18:58

Exactly. But this is something every woman can do, don't buy their products. Vote with your money.

I have to buy their products. I've tried so many brands of towels as well as other products and nothing else works.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 19:16

Take off the Venus symbol but slap a rainbow on everything. (Only $19.99 a box) yes it really is LGBT themed cereal.

‘Paint the whole world with a rainbow’ indeed.

I don't understand why any other product won't work. I know some of always range is good for very heavy flows, but maternity pads will also work won't they?

TequilaPilates · 20/10/2019 19:26

Cos maternity pads are like wearing a house brick in your knickers?

ThreeLittleDinos · 20/10/2019 19:36

Boots do slim maternity pads? Other brands might do too.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 19:37

If you don't understand, then you are fortunate not to have periods like mine. I haven't found anything other than always maxi night pads that work unfortunately. The maternity pads I've tried are poor in comparison.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 19:46

I found them to be rubbish. As are the standard ones. Have you actually tried any of these products if you suffer with heavy periods?

ThreeLittleDinos · 20/10/2019 19:47

No I don't suffer. It was just a suggestion, incase you hadn't thought of maternity for normal use. If there's not an alternative product suitable then there's not much choice.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 20/10/2019 19:54

Annoyingly, I saw the deletion message from @MNHQ on Friday just before heading out to do my weekly shop.

The message very clearly implied that the information about the packaging change was incorrect.

So believing it was all a hoax, I bought a big box of Ariel.

And now it looks like P&G are prepared to ignore the vast majority of their female customers after-all.

FFS

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 19:55

No I don't suffer. It was just a suggestion, incase you hadn't thought of maternity for normal use.

I think most women who suffer from heavy periods, endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids etc have tried pretty much everything. It's very frustrating, costly and affects life hugely. I hope you now have a better understanding of why other products don't work.

CharlieParley · 20/10/2019 19:57

Like leeloo1 I too noticed the new pattern. No twee flowers, but a Venus symbol. Cool. I didn't think it was intended as a statement (however subtle) relating to the current debate. I just thought it was simply logical. Periods = female. Symbol for female = Venus. Nice change from the flowers.

You're seeing lots of messages on Twitter and a campaign on this now precisely because this packaging is new.

And considering that on the FWR front page right now are around half a dozen different examples of female erasure, no, this isn't just one thing. It isn't one little thing. It is part of the ongoing war on women.

And yes, many trans activists are female. Many of them are trying to identify out of womanhood, for a variety of reasons. But all of this is part of pushing transgender ideology and legislation onto society.

I fear that those who honestly think this is just about stupid, inconsequential packaging, haven't paid enough attention. I don't expect anyone to take action over this, but I would hope that the nature of what is going on will be noted.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 20/10/2019 19:57

I won't lower myself to the pettiness shown by anyone complaining about a logo
Bully for you. I can’t see the moral high ground any longer- too many rainbows and mermaids blocking the view.
Always aren’t the only pads for heavy flow btw- might be the case for you but not for me. Plenty of other choices out there that do the job perfectly adequately and without smelling of cheap perfume.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 20:04

Bully for you. Wink Unfortunately I haven't found anything else that does the job adequately so I have to stick with always which they recently changed to be scented. Clearly some heavy periods are heavier than others, who would have thought ? Someone has recommended another pad to me which is unscented but still made by Always so hoping that will solve the cheap perfume smell problem.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 20:08

And complaining about a symbol isn’t petty? Bullying a company to change its packaging for you and the rest of you community (which is teensy) isn’t being a wee bit precious?

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 20/10/2019 20:13

Recently changed to scented? Where you have been for the last two decades, they changed years ago?
Btw there’s no award out there for heaviest flow Hmm
I’ll repeat: there are alternatives to Always that do the job - although clearly not for you.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 20:20

And complaining about a symbol isn’t petty?

Is this question for me? If so, if you read my first post, I did say I think it's pathetic that trans men would be bothered by packaging.

I'm sure many trans men wouldn't be bothered, only a few attention seeking, dramatic ones. But by women acknowledging it, I think it turns into a silly game, rather then sticking to the big issues that really matter.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 20:24

Recently changed to scented? Where you have been for the last two decades, they changed years ago

You're wrong. The ones I use, Always Maxi Night only recently changed to scented. I know because I searched everywhere for old stock and contacted Always about it. All old stock, (non scented) was gone and no new stock (scented) was available for a couple of weeks at my local stores.

Please check your facts before being rude ! Wink

ErnestJones · 20/10/2019 20:26

Thank you for your kind words and Flowers I am all sorted now and can go home tomorrow.

Fortunately my years supply of Always has been used up and I shall be sourcing alternative brands. The Tesco own brand wasn’t that good to be honest. Has anyone used Aldi Always Rip Off ones?

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 20:30

Btw there’s no award out there for heaviest flow
I’ll repeat: there are alternatives to Always that do the job - although clearly not for you.*

Didn't say there was, I was simply explaining that other products haven't worked for me. If I used other products I wouldn't be able to leave the house for any longer than 30 minutes. I work, have children and a life and obviously that is not a option.

As you like repeating, I'll also repeat: there are no alternatives I have found that work for me. HTH

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 20/10/2019 20:40

Rude? Where was I rudeConfused?

With the caveat that this is not being rude - if your flow is as heavy as you describe you should see a gynaecologist.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 20:49

Rude? Where was I rude?

Where you said:

Where you have been for the last two decades, they changed years ago

Rude......and incorrect.

if your flow is as heavy as you describe you should see a gynaecologist

😂 If only I'd have thought of that.
