And it's to influence public policy and it's been retweeted by the police

Strange they haven’t seem to have done due diligence as this does not look like a ‘good fit’, nor does the well documented past behaviour of the individual indicate a safe pair of hands. Or maybe they are scared to say ‘no’.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 14/10/2019 17:35

Challenor is known to have no clue about safeguarding, and possibly be incapable of understanding it, and to support child rapists.

Challenor is utterly unsuited to work with any children or young people under any circumstances, full stop.

I hope there will be a major outcry and this 'choice' will be rethought in favour of vulnerable children and young people.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 17:36

If I had a child using the service I would be deeply worried.

At this point you have to ask a) why does Aimee keep seeking out work with safeguarding children considering her history, b) why do none of these organizations run like hell?

SarahTancredi · 14/10/2019 17:49

And lets not forget what this says about the police . A quick Google and it's all there.

Most of us have to be careful what we face book etc because our jobs will be at stake. Why is it down to other people to tell the police what they should already know.

GrinitchSpinach · 14/10/2019 17:50

Unbelievable.

Countdown to OJ calling all of you homophobes and transphobia in 3, 2, 1...

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 14/10/2019 17:51

OJ can call me whatever the hell he likes.

It makes no odds to Challenor being an utterly unsuitable person to work with children. Ever.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 14/10/2019 17:53

Please God tell me Challenor won't have actual access to children?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 14/10/2019 17:54

Apart from anything else Challenor's partner writes CSA fantasy pornography doesn't he?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 17:55

Oh I’d forgotten about them. Did they get married?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 14/10/2019 17:59

Apart from anything else Challenor's partner writes CSA fantasy pornography doesn't he?

Yep.

MissLawls · 14/10/2019 18:03

Does Challenor also still have a role with the LibDems?

Why does this person continue to get work and why is no one in authority prepared to take a stand. That's not a rhetorical question.

Am not saying Challenor is an abuser but they have been around abusers and their partner writes porn about kids.

I am reminded of how no one stood up to Savile at the BBC and in NHS hospitals. Quite the opposite. He was welcomed with open arms. All this coming so soon after the Me Too/Time's Up movement and after Savile's long career of child abuse was uncovered.

I am NOT saying Challenor is a child abuser. I am saying they should be nowhere near children nor any kind of safeguarding of children.

Being trans does not get you a free pass. Challenor should face the consequences of past and current associations.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 14/10/2019 18:08

Please God tell me Challenor won't have actual access to children?

It's a youth group. My experience of youth groups is limited but the ones I know actively involve their members in policy making so I would assume* that Challenor's role in 'public policy' will involve contact with children.

*I sincerely hope I am wrong with this assumption

DJLippy · 14/10/2019 18:16

Note the age group. 13 - 21. I would hope that any organisation which allows such a wide range of ages to mix freely has robust safeguarding policies. Serisyly what 21 year old wants to hang out with 13 year olds?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 14/10/2019 18:17

I’d love to know what ACs secret is. I’ve seen their twitter feed, how they write, and I’ve seen them speak on videos and i am utterly baffled as to what these organisations are seeing in this person that makes them want to have them on board, as the public face of or as an advisor. There is nothing in the stuff I’ve seen that suggests to me this is an intelligent, articulate individual with a natural flair for PR. Quite the opposite in fact. I just don’t get it. Why are these organisations chomping at the bit to have this person join them (and risk all the negative focus that comes with it) is there a flip side to them that they’re keeping just for private meetings?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 14/10/2019 18:25

Not just a youth group, but one that meets kids at secret locations.

So totally safe.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 14/10/2019 18:26

I share your bafflement. Even if you put aside the many safeguarding and judgement concerns this individual is not exactly the most compelling speaker or writer. My cat would make a better community liason.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 14/10/2019 18:26

I can't find any named people who run that group, nor full names of any staff or mentors.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 14/10/2019 18:27

Is Coventry Leeds pt 2?

OhHolyJesus · 14/10/2019 18:54

AC is due to marry Nathaniel Knight in Dec in Michigan according to the tweet announcing their engagement.

Floisme · 14/10/2019 18:56

I trust Prism are familiar with the Verita report into the Green Party earlier this year and what it had to say about the party's grasp of safeguarding and about Aimee's judgement specifically. Copy here just in case: www.greenparty.org.uk/assets/images/national-site/Final%20report%20-%20Executive%20summary-%20cover.pdf

ChattyLion · 14/10/2019 19:38

What the hell is this organisation thinking?
Are the children and parents involved being made aware of this person’s back story?
And what of that back story, qualifies this person to offer anyone advice on anything related to children?

StealthPolarBear · 14/10/2019 19:42

Isn't chancellor a trans woman? And can therefore do no wrong.
Didn't you all get the memo?
