I've not seen this reported anywhere till today but good news.
The rubber fetish wanker who filmed himself in the NSPCC loo at work was dismissed on 12th August ,I hope he isn't employed by another charity.

Here's the letter complainant recieved. Good news, at last.

slipperywhensparticus · 11/10/2019 13:06

Good...

SarahTancredi · 11/10/2019 13:08

Have they apologised for calling everyone homophobes?

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 11/10/2019 13:11

Why has there been no apology to the thousands of people the NSPCC slagged off as 'homophobic'?

And why can I not find a single news report about this?

andyoldlabour · 11/10/2019 13:14

Of course we shouldn't forget that the odious Owen Jones tried to call out the people who reported this.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/12/lgbtq-rights-danger-pride-fight-back-homophobic-attacks

"The anti-trans activists who hounded Bergdorf are now demanding the sacking of a senior, gay NSPCC employee because they found pictures of him in fetish gear online, suggesting therefore he is not safe around children.

MockersthefeMANist · 11/10/2019 13:14

They've got the MiB flashy thing. Everyone's forgotten all about it.

NotBadConsidering · 11/10/2019 13:14

Yes, so they sacked him because of actions inconsistent with the values of the charity. So all those employees who supported him and tweeted how it was “bullying”, what happened to them? Hmm

I’m sure any future employer will google “James Makings”. Interesting results when you do.

SarahTancredi · 11/10/2019 13:16

Funny how he failed to call out the nspcc for being homophobic. Because nspcc clearly think gay men are so incapable of behaving in an appropriate manner that they just have to he allowed to film themselves wanking at work in order to be able to remain employed.

Fraggling · 11/10/2019 13:17

That's weird.

I thought they gave him 100% support.

Why did they change their minds.

Why didn't they tell anyone.

GirlDownUnder · 11/10/2019 13:25

How very curious that this update was kept on the down low after the initial brouhaha.

It's almost as if spin matters more than honesty or transparency.

A oversight I'm sure, and we'll see this is Prick News et al very soon....

Dangerfloof · 11/10/2019 13:30

Oh wow, didnt see that coming 😂

RoyalCorgi · 11/10/2019 13:33

Good work, OP, and very good news. Have you put this on Twitter at all? I think it deserves a bit more publicity.

NotBadConsidering · 11/10/2019 13:35

Owen Jones tried to call out the people who reported this.

Guardian in “let’s forget about what we wrote previously” shocker. See also: America’s first legal non binary person.

VictoriaSpongeAndTea · 11/10/2019 13:38

I'm hoping this means NSPCC have (belatedly) remembered they are a charity who are supposed to be keeping children safe (note I am not suggesting wanking rubber man was a threat but behaviour was a red flag)

truthisarevolutionaryact · 11/10/2019 13:41

That's reassuring. I did worry that they were arguing that his behaviour represented the best of NSPCC practice. It would be interesting to see what they said to all their staff who reckoned that criticism of this was homophobic - especially those who work directly with children. Hopefully training has been provided for them?

And now they have rediscovered their values, maybe they might be able to have a word with Warwickshire County Council about their practice of promoting felching, fisting and bukkake to 13 year olds and the safeguarding implications of this? Just a thought.

RaymondStopThat · 11/10/2019 13:42

That is such good news. And shame on those who defended him. With twitter, it's so fast moving that it's easy to forget a burning issue and move onto the next one. Has anyone heard anything about the YHA review into their single sex accommodation policy? Maybe we could keep asking about that too.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/10/2019 13:47

Well that was kept quiet. I SAID THAT WAS KEPT QUIET!

Funny there wasn’t a twitter storm of attacks on the NSPCC for ‘kink shaming’ rubber boy. I must’ve missed the stonewall T-shirt ‘some people take their kinks to work and post it on the Internet - get over it’.

RedToothBrush · 11/10/2019 13:47

The PR here is incredible.

mimivanne · 11/10/2019 13:48

RoyalCorgi

Info from Twitter,Jane Harris
The letter from Garry NSPCC is addressed to Jane,so I'm thinking Jane Harris may have been a complainant .....

Here's an old thread with loads of links: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3611125-AIBU-to-say-that-if-you-work-in-child-protection-you-shouldnt-post-pictures-of-yourself-wanking-at-work-in-fetish-gear

and the screenshot from the NSPCC saying they won't tolerate bullying of their staff.

James Makings recently participated in a ‘queer fashion show’ held at the V&A Museum of Childhood, with the words ‘Self Luv’ written on his bare arse.

What’s that phrase US journalists use about Trump? Oh yes...

‘Bad optics’

RoyalCorgi · 11/10/2019 14:00

Oh yes, I see. I read too quickly and thought that you'd received the letter. Didn't see that it was on Twitter. I hope someone has asked OJ for his opinion.

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2019 14:53

Yeah report people for concerns for a guy wanking at work and posting it online.
Nspcc said that was bullying and all the bullying tweets should be reported.
A children’s charity. WTAF

RoyalCorgi · 11/10/2019 15:11

Nspcc said that was bullying and all the bullying tweets should be reported.

It's just unbelievable. I'd really like to see an apology for that. What I want more than anything, though, is for the press to pick up on it. I don't see why they haven't done. The Mirror was the only publication to report on the original story. Something like this ought to be huge.

HandsOffMyRights · 11/10/2019 15:20

Excellent news.
The NSPCC needs to get its house in order.

Even prior to Bergdorf and Rubberman, this CHILDREN's charity was tweeting dangerous rubbish like this:
