Sheffield strip club keeps licence despite opposition by feminist coalition

From the way the Guardian reports it (but does anyone think their reporting is unbiased) the undercover filming that campaigners organised has worked against them.

I think the licence will be reviewer again in a year. Have a horrible feeling that if it hadn't been "feminists" campaigning but "local" people the council would have acted differently. The patriarchy likes to be seen to slapping down uppity women.

They didn't even value the opinion of the local Rape Crisis Centre which works nearby. Sad

So, Roses - can you think of any problem with an industry that searches out 18-year-old girls who only look 12 and have immature breasts? If you try really, really hard?

Waterl00 · 20/09/2019 15:28

I know what she is implying Roses, I am pointing out that it makes no sense as we cannot be as uniformed as a primary school playground debate.

Literally.

LangCleg · 20/09/2019 15:29

Oh my goddess.

There is no depth left unplumbed, is there? A one woman sex industry peaking machine - and genuinely believes is taking the majority of the reading audience with them.

My gast is truly flabbered. And not in a good way.

And still not bothered about evidenced exploitative environments at Spearmint Rhino, I see.

Datun · 20/09/2019 15:41

and genuinely believes is taking the majority of the reading audience with them.

I going to say that can't be the case, given, what do they call it now, the ratio?

But you never know what information goes in when one's skim reading results in leaving out most of the words.

BickerinBrattle · 20/09/2019 15:44

Of the most powerful people in the world, the overwhelming majority are men.

Of those most powerful men, the overwhelming majority of them buy women. They buy or are gifted women to fuck or to beat, women to strip for them, to hang on their arms, to decorate their parties.

Of course, some of those women aren’t women at all but young girls.

Oddly, there aren’t private islands, brothels, agencies, and clubs that provide men and boys in this way to powerful women. I think I can be 100% certain that neither the Queen, Margaret Thatcher, nor Benazhir Bhutto ever availed themselves of rent-boys.

But there ARE brothels, clubs, agencies, etc. that provide women and girls to men with far less power than the most powerful men in the world — much much less power in fact — and for a small window of time these less powerful men get to be the power in the room.

There is NOTHING equal between the sexes in these power dynamics. The notion that the women hold the power because the men get turned on is ridiculous, just as the notion that the girl alleging Prince Andrew fucked her was the one holding the power is ridiculous.

And sorry — but you can draw a straight line from Spearmint Rhino to Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew, and Little Saint James. It’s all of a piece: girls and women — the younger the better — as products supplied to men. It’s only the quality of the surroundings, the drugs, the bling, and the whiskey that differ.

Waterl00 · 20/09/2019 16:00

I am quite sure the co-dependent relationship that Courtenay described in a previous thread between the women who are showing their genitals to the men whose hobby is looking at them and whose revenue generating occupation is selling the live viewing opportunites, probably does sometimes lead to a belief that it's always mutually beneficial and I am quite sure no one would ever take a problem to someone as co-dependent on this as Courtenay either.

She seems scarily intimidating in her defence of the genitals out playground she plays in. It is an intimidating environment that operates on those rules of engagement as she has amply demonstrated.

I just googled the club in Moscow, it was shut down as an embarasment as it was on the main tourist strip. There are lots of others though and there's a handy guide from a punter talking about the top 6 benefits of clubs in Russia over the boring ones in Europe and the USA, - being that you are encouraged to pay to touch, get pissed and have sex with the "girls" and it's cheaper.

This all reminded my of my sleazy cheap colleague who explained he would regularly get chucked out by the bouncers as he refused to spend any more money than the door entrance and they got fed up of him uneconomically taking up a front row seat..

Anyway, I will donate again to the legal fund....this has all brought back the disturbing memory.

LordRandallXV · 20/09/2019 16:05

I wonder why young men don't choosy choice to 'fund their way through college' by being perved over by middle aged women?

I have an acquaintance who's pretty buff and he worked as a naked waiter whilst at uni. Not sure exactly where, but he used to joke about being chatted up by middle aged women.

BickerinBrattle · 20/09/2019 16:11

And if that were so common, you wouldn’t need to know exactly where.

You could just say: a place like the one down the road from Spearmint Rhino.

By the way: did any of those middle-aged women rape him?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 20/09/2019 16:11

POTUS: 'Grab em by the pussy'

Roses: Twisty shit !!
Jesus Christ.
He means their cats. Can you really not see it?
Fux sake.

Rest of the world: Confused Hmm Shock

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:15

Yeah, Tentacle, completely the same as what I was saying. Hmm
Cool story bro.
Biscuit

LangCleg · 20/09/2019 16:15

Tentacle Grin Grin Grin

They say the best humour is closest to the bone...

LangCleg · 20/09/2019 16:16

Cool story bro.

DID YOU JUST ASSUME A GENDER?

Crivens! Where are the Wee Free Men when you need them?

LordRandallXV · 20/09/2019 16:17

woman paid to be naked in her "workplace" = fine because privacy waived"voluntarily" using financial coercion. Whistle blower takes photos of this taking place to expose dodgy employment practices (touching when license conditions say this isn't allowed) apparently not fine because privacy violated.

Surely the keyword here is 'consent'.

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:18

This place is so predictable Grin
Not playground here! No not at all, @Courtney555 must have been totes mistaken there as you said! Grin

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:19

General you

LordRandallXV · 20/09/2019 16:19

And if that were so common, you wouldn’t need to know exactly where.

But that's not the point.

The PP stated it doesn't happen and it clearly does.

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:21

Surely the keyword here is consent
You'd think, wouldn't you?!

BeMoreMagdalen · 20/09/2019 16:22

And yet you stay, magnanimously sharing your unique perspective on reality with the world, who stand by in astonishment.

Specific you.

LordRandallXV · 20/09/2019 16:33

Rich, powerful women don't avail themselves of toyboys, right?

Sheffield strip club keeps licence despite opposition by feminist coalition
Wurzelsnewhead · 20/09/2019 16:37

Hey Roses, Lord Randy’s turned up to help you out, your very own knight in shining armour.
The grand plan??

Take the thread back a few pages and rehash the same old bullshit 😂

Meanwhile in Sheffield.......

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:42

Ah, back to playground cos someone offers a differing opinion again?!
Yeah but no but never happens.
Self awareness?
Yeah.
This board does lack it sometimes.
Why not discuss what the poster said instead of oh noes, doesn't fit my narrative so I'll resort back to playground name calls?

sillage · 20/09/2019 16:44

LordRandallXV, what has that got to do with the women in Spearmint Rhino where there are multiple stream of evidence showing employers maintain an illegal, coercive and abusive working environment and the lack of accountability for those violations?

Do you have anything to add on this topic or not?

RosesAndRaindrops · 20/09/2019 16:47

What has that got to do with Spearmint Rhino
Take it up with whoever it was who said there wasn't a market for toy boys and women hiring men for sex.
It'll be do with that, I presume?
If people don't want their view or narrative questioned, why put it out there in the first place?

NatashasDance · 20/09/2019 16:49

There 1000s of strip clubs in the UK. I can think of 6 within 10 minutes walk of my city centre office. And this is in a mixed commercial/residential area with some of the swankiest new office space going- not some down at heel dock area.

The naked waiter example and Vivienne Westwood's husband is comparing oranges with , oh I don't know, a yak for all the resemblance the 2 have.

And sorry — but you can draw a straight line from Spearmint Rhino to Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew, and Little Saint James. It’s all of a piece: girls and women — the younger the better — as products supplied to men

Of course it is.

sillage · 20/09/2019 16:50

I'm taking it up with LordRandallXV.
