I really hope the outcome is fair to women and upholds free speech.

The sisterhood is truly an awesome thing when stirred up.

Someone appears to have dug in 5000 times whaaaaa? (it wasn't me btw)

That is bloody brilliant. Faith in human nature (almost) restored.

teawamutu · 26/09/2019 13:43

Can't say how pleased I am for you, Busted.

I'm sure you've thought of this, but would it be worth approaching, eg, whoever represented Miranda Yardley?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/09/2019 13:44

Isnt there a twitter-er called the lady lawyer or something like that? If it is covered on the blog (roll on fridays?) then it may get some interest. I am sure there is some lawyer itching to make a name for themselves andthisis a very interesting area of human rights (and wrongs).

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/09/2019 13:45

and sadly a lot of the big law firms seem to have been infested with stonewall.

Somerville · 26/09/2019 13:49

Woohoo for the huge contribution (and all the regular size ones)!!
Let’s pat ourselves on the back for all that digging.
Any specific way we can help with solicitor search, Busted?

Popchyk · 26/09/2019 13:50

Miranda Yardley's defence barrister was Gudrun Young.

www.2harecourt.com/barristers/gudrun-young/

Young also represented Linda and Venice in their civil action.

Got both cases tossed out.

Also Allison Bailey of Garden Court Chambers might be able to recommend someone. I think she specialises in serious crime herself but might be able to recommend a colleague.

Anya Palmer is representing Maya Forstater in her employment tribunal. Specialises in employment but might be able to recommend someone.

Might be worth reaching out to FairCop as well, if you haven't already. They have people in place for their case.

BustedWench · 26/09/2019 14:21

I have exhausted most usual routes. My criminal case is being supported and dealt with. That's the big juicy one that some were interested in but were too late.

The civil one is the one people don't seem to want to bother with, if anyone knows of any solicitors, than please let me know so I can test the waters. I've been badly let down by some GC ones so angling for someone with a passion for truth and justice! Need me an Elle Woods type 😂

To that very generous donor: thank you Flowers

We all know you may have to stay anon in this battle, for the same reasons as many. But your generosity helps so much - Kate stay strong!

(Countdown to a TRA crediting the Religious Right tho Grin)

DrLouiseMoody · 26/09/2019 20:47

First, I'm thrilled that everyone has hit their targets and can now secure representation.

I just wanted to note that, tonight, Crowdfunder have suddenly disabled comments on mine, Kate's, and Helena's projects. It's not a glitch since other projects are displaying fine.

Now, I've been having some dealings with Crowdfunder and I'm becoming slightly concerned that they might be being threatened for hosting our projects. Some of the wording got removed from my text as, despite it being straightforwardly true, they claimed there was a risk of "defamation" - despite being sent court documents. Weird.

Anyway. I'd give some thought to withdrawing all funds now if you're confident you've enough for the foreseeable (can always do a second round if necessary). I'm becoming slightly wary that someone wants to shut our funds down.

RoyalCorgi · 26/09/2019 20:56

Isnt there a twitter-er called the lady lawyer or something like that?

Are you thinking of Lady Justice? She was at one of the Woman's Place meetings saying she actively wanted to represent clients. However, she is a barrister, not a solicitor, so Kate would have to find a solicitor to work with first.

somebrightmorning · 26/09/2019 21:07

There are rules about whether solicitors can turn down a case.....

CadburysTastesVileNow · 26/09/2019 21:16

Maybe a direct access barrister to cut out the solicitor?

BustedWench · 26/09/2019 21:41

Louise, the comments were disabled yesterday. They're disabled on others too, controversial funders, so I imagine it's just precaution.

Direct access barrister? I will get googling, thank you @Cadburys

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/09/2019 21:47

I'm becoming slightly wary that someone wants to shut our funds down.

Of course they do.

FannyCann · 26/09/2019 22:07

Very happy to join the dig, I always wanted to be an archaeologist!
I reduced the tip to the dig administration in protest at it being allowed to comment.

BustedWench · 26/09/2019 22:11

I like your style Grin thank you ❤️

teawamutu · 26/09/2019 22:29

Busted, are you going to set a new stretch target? Or are you covered now?

The advice to get the money out now if you can sounded v sensible, btw.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 27/09/2019 00:31

I agree, get the money out.
