wow. How sexy. And high maintenance I believe.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/09/2019 09:23

And there seem to be some surgeons who will do anything if the price is right.

Mimbop · 15/09/2019 09:26

I've name changed for this.

Dd is at an all girls indie school.

I notice the new deputy head has had all the stonewall training and is 'particularly interested in diversity'

This would have pleased me years ago, but now I'm concerned. I want her school to stay single sex.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 15/09/2019 09:32

Why is it always called ‘diversity training’. At best it should be ‘LGBT training’ (more likely ‘T training’ these days). Stonewall doing give a F for religious diversity, ethnic diversity, disability, neurodiversity or even girls.

Mimbop · 15/09/2019 09:37

Also, he's a childless gay man. So absolutely no skin in the game.

PencilsInSpace · 15/09/2019 09:42

Sounds like the same guidance as was leaked a couple of weeks ago, but that time it was for Scottish schools

Birdsfoottrefoil · 15/09/2019 09:50

Mimbop maybe speak to the school trustees?

zebrasdontwearbras · 15/09/2019 09:51

Mimbop, I'm sorry to say that this is all part of the plan. There was a thread around this time last year by a feminist who attended some sort of event run by activists such as Stephen Whittle. They talked "game plans" which included getting TRAs into schools, NHS, local government etc in order to push the trans agenda. It all sounds a bit "conspiracy theory" but every time I read stuff like this, I think of that thread. Regulatory capture, I think we call it now.

My DH said he had to do an online "Diversity training" course a while ago - well, I was all over that! I said I'd sit with him while he did it. Blow me down - it was proper diversity training! It covered discrimination against women and maternity leave, age, disability and homosexuality.

DH works for a global finance company - the trans agenda has clearly not made any inroads into that sector (yet) - but anything to do with education, or healthcare - any sort of public body - seems to be all about gender.

We should be very worried that organisations like Mermaids & Allsorts are providing training for schools, police forces, NHS etc- and covering unscientific garbage like "jelly baby" genders ranging from GI Joe to Barbie.

I contacted the CEO’s office of our local hospital trust, who have recently announced proudly on their website that they are a “Stonewall Champion” trust. I spoke to a lovely woman who said they did it because they want to be sure they’re being inclusive.

When I asked her what it might mean for patient care (vulnerable women not being able to say no to intimate care from biological males, for example), she was unable to give me an answer.

Also no answer to the question about in what way current laws were non-inclusive to trans people. And no answer about whether they were doing the same for a much larger group - disabled people - and what status the trust had adopted to make sure their needs were being met.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/09/2019 09:53

Inclusive my backside. What does that mean?

GColdtimer · 15/09/2019 09:55

Here is out thread on 😱this.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 15/09/2019 09:59

I know it looks neater making hyperlinks present as a word, but these days I would much rather see where I was going.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/09/2019 10:00

Maybe girls will arise and decide en made that they are boys and swamp the boys loos and changing areas.

Are girls as political, stroppy and bolshy as they were when I was at school? We were feminists back then - I don’t really come across that these days with school aged girls.

Thanks 😊

Great idea if they did but I think in the 70s there was more political activism- matches, strikes that we simply don’t see anymore. I think girls need to see their parents rejecting wrongthink in order to do so themselves.
These policies will not change unless parents speak up and demand schools respect the safety and dignity of all children.
Re the indie- you pay, they supply . In this case, they need to supply a unisex changing room or I withdraw my child (and her school fees) and switch her to a school that supports her rights. It might be a good idea to raise the issue now, see how the school are planning to include a mtf wanting to attend the school whilst maintaining privacy and dignity for girls. Their policy should be freely available and included in the lovely glossy brochures they use to lure fee paying parents. We have a voice, we need to use it.
Ftm not really an issue, still a biological female no matter the name change, pronoun etc.

Wurzelsnewhead · 15/09/2019 10:20

Matches?? Autocorrect . There were marches too 😂

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/09/2019 10:29

Such a shame that the comments from yesterday when this article was published have disappeared - much outrage with hundreds of likes for them. I also notice that they've changed the headline.
Still - commentators aren't buying it.

Noconsent · 15/09/2019 10:31

Who is this group?, sounds like they mean business

“Last week a group of parents announced a lobbying organisation aimed at the NHS. One of them, a mother, told a public meeting that the gender reassignment of young people with autism or psychological problems was “state-sponsored sterilisation of the mentally disabled”. Members of the group attended a governors’ council of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, which includes the Gender Identity Development Clinic for trans children. The mother said her 20-year-old, who identifies as a gay trans man and lives with other young people awaiting reassignment surgery, had ADHD with autistic traits diagnosed at the age of six.

She said her child fitted the description of “rapid onset gender dysphoria”, whereby youngsters declare, often in clusters, that they are trans after exposure with their peers to suggestions they are “trapped in the wrong body”.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 15/09/2019 10:32

GCDtimer I’ve already written to my MP about this article. Thanks for suggestions about other things to do. Legally I thought the comparator for gender reassignment was someone if the same sex not the opposite sex. Does any legal person here know?

FamilyOfAliens · 15/09/2019 10:37

I’d like to know too, so we can offer them our support.

FamilyOfAliens · 15/09/2019 10:38

This was the sort of thing JackyHollyoake used to post details about on here, but I think she’s gone now.

This is terrible, shocking news for women and girls.

Seems like the EHRC have decided that as reform of the Gender Recognition Act has been put on hold following a huge response to the public consultation about it, it will introduce self ID by the back door. Women’s rights to single sex spaces, which Stonewall were petitioning for, are removed.

It dismantles the entire principles of safeguarding. How can Isaac say they’ve consulted with feminist groups? He knows very well that there is huge opposition from women to losing the rights that the Equality Act gives them.

He he also knows that teachers have protected human rights not to be made to manifest a belief that they do not hold. The Equality Act does not allow for mind control of teachers who know the truth- that you can change ‘gender’ but never sex.

This comment resonates for me.

It ties in with TheHarpySings report from the conference.
