Apparently “gender neutral” means trousers aka the male default. This is utterly insane. I mean I wouldn’t have minded the choice of trousers or skirts for either sex but only trousers?

They wear shirts at Wimbledon

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 19:38

Stupid to auto correct

shorts

Do you think they should be able to wear shorts

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 19:38

Why though? Why do you need to wear footless tights/leggings under a yoga skirt?
Would be up to the person concerned- there's no need to if you are confident in your knickers. The sort of knickers I wore for PE would be ok.

Do you mean that yoga skirts aren't as practical as wearing one single garment, like lycra gym trousers?

No. The gym trousers will have more and thicker material than the skirt. The skirt on its own or with tights will have the edge for flexibility.

Do you ever get bored of nit-picking?

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:41

And no contraception options should be removed but a l it more research needs to go into finding safe, reliable and reversible options for men so that they have as much choice as women.

You don't, some of the photos were without. Might depend on the temperature , I wear skirts bare legged in summer, tights in winter.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/09/2019 19:44

Some of us have been saying that for years... care to speculate on why more options are available to women when both are equally responsible for conception?

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:45

No. The gym trousers will have more and thicker material than the skirt. The skirt on its own or with tights will have the edge for flexibility.

Do you do yoga? You are being entirely ridiculous. What happens when you do an inversion? Where does the skirt end up?

And I don't fancy being behind someone doing a downward facing dog with their undercarriage on full display or in front of someone doing the happy baby pose with everything on show.

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 19:45

So more contraception choices are ok as it gets men laid but not ok when it means making sure girls have all their needs met ?

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 19:47

Given how the man in question described men benefitting more from a short skirt than women, particularly due to inseams around the crutch and him referencing ancient romans in their micro mini skirts I have a few questions about the reason why this man is quite so enthusiastic about him wearing very short skirts

Eh? What are you on about? Is that because his article defeated your superpowers of nit-picking on its actual content so you had to invent some sort of dubious motive?

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 19:50

You really are obsessed by genitals being on display. Their "undercarriage", if wearing the sort of sturdy gym knickers I had in the 70s would no more be "on display" than the "undercarriage" of dancers and gymnasts is in certain moves.

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:51

Yes, 1 of the biggest problems has been that sperm is in constant production on an as and when basis. A woman's cycle is cyclical and can be manipulated.

Even the most recent advances in male contraception still requires a physical barrier to prevent sperm from being released ie a temporary vasectomy using an injectable substance that blocks the tubes.

I suppose the holy grail will be a pill that can block sperm production though the downside is that a reduction in testosterone leads usually to erectile dysfunction which kind of removes the need for a contraceptive

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:53

So more contraception choices are ok as it gets men laid but not ok when it means making sure girls have all their needs met ?

What are you talking about? I don't want anyone to have current choices removed - clothing, contraception etc.

Girls won't have choices reduced as shorts are not an option right now. So they would be having nothing removed.

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 19:57

So decomposing do you think women should he given the option of shirts at Wimbledon

As you chose to avoid Sarah's reasonable question by focusing on the typo rather than answering the question I'll repeat it, without the typo.(Sorry Sarah- I'm looking to reduce nit- picking opportunities, not trying to be a smart arse)

Do you think women should he given the option of shorts at Wimbledon?

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:57

You would need more than just knickers for some of the yoga positions - knickers move, they are not super glued to the inner thigh are they? As I said, do you do yoga? And what happens to the skirt when you do inversions?

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 19:58

Do you think women should he given the option of shorts at Wimbledon?

Yep - men and women can wear shorts.

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 19:59

Girls won't have choices reduced as shorts are not an option right now. So they would be having nothing removed

So that would be a no to women wearing shorts at Wimbledon then?

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 20:02

Ok , so should women be able to wear a CHOICE of shorts or tennis skirt?

As that's 2 choices. More than the men have .

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 20:02

So that would be a no to women wearing shorts at Wimbledon then?

Really? How many times would you like me to answer the question?

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 20:03

Do you think women should he given the option of shorts at Wimbledon?

Yep - men and women can wear shorts

But applying your logic that would give women 2 choices and men only 1- and that's not fair.

You have argued vociferously throughout this thread that school girls can't have the choice of shorts as that would give them 3 choices compared to boys' 2.

Why aren't you applying this "fairness" rule to Wimbledon?

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 20:04

Ok , so should women be able to wear a CHOICE of shorts or tennis skirt?

Imo, no. They should have the same number of choices.

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 20:04

We would like a definitive as opposed to not picky "oh look arent I clever answer"

As men only wear shorts should women choose from either. An actual choice. Not have ot reduced to one. But to have the pick of the two?

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 20:04

There it is...

MargueritaBlue · 09/09/2019 20:06

So that would be a no to women wearing shorts at Wimbledon then?

Really? How many times would you like me to answer the question?

Do you understand the concept of cross- posting? You hadn't answered it all when I posted either of my questions.

You chose to pretend you didn't understand Sarah's question because of the typo so didn't answer hers.

DecomposingComposers · 09/09/2019 20:06

MargueritaBlue

Do you have comprehension difficulties?

Men - shorts
Women - shorts

Please show me how that's 2 choices for women and 1 for men?

You're so eager to jump in with a gotcha that you're not even reading what is said.

SarahTancredi · 09/09/2019 20:07

And why doesnt it apply to contraception out of curiosity.

Cos currently available there is one for men.
2 if you count celibacy.

So even though more are being researched and come to fruition women have more. Right now.

So if it's notabout getting laid then what is it about cos with your logic it's not fair.
