Hey BBC, where's our front-page promoted article and video interview about all the things women have done for and by each other, for centuries, to stay safe in public? No?

The "look at poor ickle us suffering from these things nobody has ever had to worry about before" is so infuriating. We have been living this shit forever.

Case in point. Yesterday lunchtime I walked through an underpass behind two men and two women (all separate).

Both women cast a casual-but-clearly-deliberate glance behind them as they descended into the underpass, to check out who was walking behind them. I recognized it as I did it too.

Both men strolled along without a care in the world.

Not sure about this one, what if a trans taxi is a bike or rollerblades that identify as a taxi ? Would be a bit awkward when dressed up to the nines.

There's a well known trainer trick splitting delegates into men and women and asking each group to record on a flip chart what they do to protect themselves from sexual assault

Men: 'don't get sent to prison, hahahahah'

It's the same as the SNP boasting about their programme of government which is going to tackle lots of issues pertaining to women and girls, and in the same breath trying to introduce self-ID.

In Germany they have special parking spaces for women under some of the big malls. Their spaces are closer to the door and in well lit areas. It did feel a lot safer when I went shopping there with my SIL.

I don't think it's taken anything like as seriously as dangers towards women in the media.
I also don't think it can be eradicated. There's always been violent people and there always will be.^

Yeah it'd be great to protect all vulnerable groups. If that was what happened.

Except the biggest group, women, who have the highest actual rate of attack, rape, assault and murder against them (by vast orders of magnitude) are blocked from setting up services that protect them. By the same sex who perpetrate those crimes. It's "sexist" apparently.

But not in this case. In this case it's perfectly fine to have special exclusive services for a tiny minority who have very low crime rates against them.

Are people missing that this is in New York? There’s at least one female-only taxi service there already. Scotland is completely irrelevant
