Epstein is dead

Jeffrey Epstein has apparently committed suicide.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-us-canada-49306032

Can’t help feeling he has escaped from justice.

MsSafina · 11/08/2019 13:36

I'm not buying this was a suicide. Too many important men stood to lose from any beans that might have been spilled. The wealthy elite always look after themselves.

Trump and his daughter Ivanka

andyoldlabour · 11/08/2019 14:59

Trump, Clinton, everyone who visited that island and travelled on the "Lolita Express" - they were all the same, they all knew what was going on, they were all culpable.

twitter.com/mfstern/status/1160298345832820737

It wouldn't surprise me if they all start turning on each other, and Trump got in the first shot.

If the Politico link on this thread is accurate rather than a photoshop
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/a3661842-Jeffrey-Epstein-dead?msgid=89230378#89230378
then Trump is in it up to his neck.

NB MASSIVE, MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING. GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION OF RAPE AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE.

I'm linking to the thread rather than directly to Politico so people don't (a) stumble into the sworn testimony unwarned and (b) because the post in the thread may well be deleted and I don't want to leave this thread looking like a Swiss cheese. But if you have a strong stomach and you want to see just how far the rot goes, read it before it disappears.

merrymouse · 11/08/2019 19:07

www.vox.com/2019/7/9/20686347/jeffrey-epstein-trump-bill-clinton

This is a good article on the known facts about Trump, Clinton and Epstein.

The politico link refers to the woman who accused Trump of raping her when she was 13. I don’t think they have posted it as a link to a current story.

According to Vox many journalists have investigated this story, but it lacks corroboration.

placemats · 11/08/2019 19:24

Bloody hell that link!

Somehow Trump will get off. It will be said he has onset dementia and therefore can't stand trial. What's the betting on that?

deepwatersolo · 11/08/2019 19:26

According to Vox many journalists have investigated this story, but it lacks corroboration.

She has remained anonymous and has apparently withdrawn the lawsuit (not the allegation). I don't think this kind of stuff will go anywhere, unless there are actual lawsuits and women who go on record showing their name and face - like the Epstein accusers have done - and even they may not get justice in the end. Heck one woman is on record with her accusations against Prince Andrew and Dershowitz and I can't see them being held to account.

I really mourn the lost opportunity of finding out all about the Epstein blackmail operation's reach. But ffs, shouldn't it be enough to have evidence of all those people visiting Epstein and seeing him with all those underage girls and doing nothing!?!?! That alone should disqualify all those people from any participation in public life.

deepwatersolo · 11/08/2019 21:47

Oh, the NYT calls it an alleged suicide. And apparently 2 protocols were not followed relating to Epstein, which faciliated his demise.

AlwaysComingHome · 11/08/2019 23:43

Slightly OT but where I work we aren’t allowed to use the term ‘committed suicide’ because it is stigmatising; we have to say ‘completed suicide’ like it’s an achievement.

I can understand it's good journalistic practice not to state categorically that a death is a suicide (or murder or accidental death) until after an inquest.

deepwatersolo · 12/08/2019 08:27

I can understand it's good journalistic practice not to state categorically that a death is a suicide (or murder or accidental death) until after an inquest.

Definitely. But this practice is quite often not upheld by publications, including by the NYT, so, I do think this wording is significant.

(By contrast, this nymag article, for example, is quite definitive in its first paragraph.

nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/08/jeffrey-epstein-dies-by-suicide-report.html )

Passthecherrycoke · 12/08/2019 09:03

Also I would say you usually use “suspected suicide” alleged sounds a lot more loaded

wacademia · 12/08/2019 09:11

That's a big grin for someone who's mate has just died in violent or suspicious circumstances. Last time I had a mate die (RTA), I was crying for weeks.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 12/08/2019 09:35

Poor Betty.

Imagine finding out that your favourite child is a scumbag.

Will be interesting to see, in time, how The Crown play this out...

DanaPhoenix · 12/08/2019 13:01

In my wishful thinking mode....I'm hoping his death was faked and he's been secretly smuggled to some off the grid black ops sight where he is now singing like the proverbial canary, against any and all, regardless of political affiliation...well I did say I love a good conspiracy theory..

Seriously though if you didn't see this coming, well you better get yourself to specsavers. It's quite amusing to see how the media are trying to spin this. People on the street that have never entertained a conspiracy theory in their life are giving this story some serious side eye 😒

deepwatersolo · 12/08/2019 13:47

Yeah, but you know that this info will then not be used to punish anyone but to blackmail them into starting a war or whatever [adjusts tinfoil hat].

It was so predictable Epstein would not survive to stand trial, it is now kind of lame he actually died. On the bright side, I have now repeatedly seen people state that the Epstein death has tipped them over and they have finally joined the CT camp now... Wink

The sad thing is that nothing will change. I mean, we all know that elite sex blackmail rings are a thing since when, the 80's?

www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1989/08/01/the-bombshell-that-didnt-explode/ff09cdb0-7d64-428b-8415-a6998b9f0c65/

And yet, nothing ever changes.

NornIroning · 12/08/2019 14:02

My OH loves a good conspiracy, as a result we listen to loads and loads of alternative podcasts and news programs, some left learning, some right, some libertarian, some bat shit crazy. If he were a betting man we'd be rich by now. He predicted Trump would win, he said that depositions and court orders for something massive was in the wings over a year ago. His two cents? Trump was always in line to take the large part of the blame for this (to the extent that he thinks this is why he was 'allowed' to win), he's guilty as sin, but so are many, many others so we can't let waves of Trump hate to eclipse this and I have to agree with him on this one.

DanaPhoenix · 12/08/2019 14:07

ikr Deep I just feel like chanting "One of Us, One of Us.." to those people. Hahaha.

Seriously though you are right. Nothing will change because the majority prefer the comfortable lies to the harsh reality of truth.

Have you ever seen Conspiracy of Silence?

deepwatersolo · 12/08/2019 14:31

Have you ever seen Conspiracy of Silence?

The banned Discovery Channel documentary on what basically evolved to the Franklin cover up? Of course I have.

The very fact that this documentary could be pulled from all channels in the US (and beyond) and was never shown (except the makers apparently saved one of the copies instead of handing them all over as compelled), tells you all you need to know about the reach of this.

And then the same sh*t happened all over again with Dutroux. And no mass mobilization of Belgian citizens, no documentaries by UK and German public broadcasters (!) on the investigation and the >20 dead witnesses changed anything.

And the Epstein case will be the same. And no one can tell me Epstein's fancy parties, high tech video equipment and little black book didn't shape politics in the past 20 years.

DanaPhoenix · 12/08/2019 14:39

EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THE ABOVE DOCUMENTARY ^

Sorry for shouting but if anyone thinks Epstein is about left vs right politics think again.

God yes the Dutroux affair, horrendous, little girls in cages.

How many more children?

justasking111 · 12/08/2019 14:51

Has anyone read James Herbert book Ash book 3, I did and suspected it was a book about people hiding in plain sight.

NornIroning · 12/08/2019 14:54

Have you ever seen Conspiracy of Silence?

Thank you! I couldn't remember the name of this, have been trying to describe it to people.

deepwatersolo · 12/08/2019 21:04

Oh look Dana, now that Epstein is dead, the FBI goes to his island to destroy any and all evidence once and for all.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7349729/Dozen-FBI-agents-raid-Jeffrey-Epsteins-Pedophile-Island.html

(I'm actually serious.)

deepwatersolo · 12/08/2019 21:38

Oh, and indy political commentator Kyle Kulinski finally joins us in CT-Ville...

hoodathunkit · 12/08/2019 22:57

Have you ever seen Conspiracy of Silence?

The banned Discovery Channel documentary on what basically evolved to the Franklin cover up? Of course I have.

Trouble is the coverup was a hoax incorporating satanic ritual abuse narratives and the "documentary", like so many on Discovery Channel is really fiction.

My father, who suffers from dementia, occasionally o[pines about Hitler being alive, pyramids on the moon and the mysterious supernatural powers of crystal skulls as a result of watching the Discovery Channel. It isn't exactly a credible channel.
