Jeffrey Epstein has apparently committed suicide.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-us-canada-49306032

Can’t help feeling he has escaped from justice.

OP posts:
Mileysmiley · 11/08/2019 01:42

His death seems suspicious ... I am waiting to see what is revealed in the next few days

TerfTalk · 11/08/2019 01:42

Trump has actually gone slightly up in my estimation after his recent tweets. If he does pursue this, I'll be impressed.

Mileysmiley · 11/08/2019 01:45

@TerfTalk the trouble with Trump is he changes his mind all the time

Mileysmiley · 11/08/2019 02:00

I have just read this

uk.news.yahoo.com/prince-andrew-groped-young-womans-084312493.html

hoodathunkit · 11/08/2019 08:35

The Daily Beast has excellent coverage of this unwinding horror

My areas of interest include female perpetrators, quackery / yoga cults and victims turned perpetrators. The Epstein saga has all of these ingredients

On female perpetrators and victims turned perpetrators (allegedly) this story is worth reading, obviously like all the material in this case it is disturbing / distressing

www.thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epsteins-alleged-accomplices-where-are-sarah-kellen-nadia-marcinkova-adriana-ross-and-lesley-groff

links to wellness and yoga cults (readers will have to do a bit of googling)

www.thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epstein-scandal-butler-for-glenn-and-eva-dubin-says-swedish-teen-told-him-she-was-pressured-for-sex

an interesting piece on the suicide each regime where Epstein was held

www.thedailybeast.com/after-his-suicide-watch-ended-jeffrey-epstein-was-left-to-look-after-himself

also of interest to readers

hoodathunkit · 11/08/2019 08:41

I have read in news articles that some commentators have expressed the opinion that the victims can now rest easy that they are no longer at personal risk from Epstein.

Surely nothing could be further from the truth.

Anyone in possession of sensitive information is at risk of being silenced, one way or another.

As for conspiracy theories, it seems to me that they are being used to manipulate the masses and undermine democracy.

Pizzagate and Qanon are very good examples of this.

They are also used to obscure real conspiracies.

Sorting the wheat from the chaff is far from easy.

FormerMediocreMale · 11/08/2019 09:08

Thanks hooda

It will be interesting to see how this unravels. There does seem to be consistency in stories from different people, certain names and MOs cropping up repeatedly, the money trail and business links...

FormerMediocreMale · 11/08/2019 09:10

I agree, victims are more at risk now than ever before. I hope they are protected.

hoodathunkit · 11/08/2019 09:28

@FormerMediocreMale

You're welcome :)

Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin is named as a person of interest in the Beast story linked here

www.thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epstein-scandal-butler-for-glenn-and-eva-dubin-says-swedish-teen-told-him-she-was-pressured-for-sex

She is also on the medical advisory board of a fascinating organisation that promotes "integrated medicine" (conventional, evidence based medicine combined with snake oil) that can be found here (archived for safety)

<a class="break-all" href="https://web.archive.org/web/20190728221842/www.kulaforkarma.org/our-team" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">web.archive.org/web/20190728221842/www.kulaforkarma.org/our-team

Many interesting people involved with this organisation, some with links to some very disturbing, extremely abusive cults - although I have to say, and this is extremely important, many very well meaning people get involved with criminal cults and have absolutely no idea what they are involved with. Useful idiots abound

Kula for Karma has connections to the Kripalu Center an organisation with a controversial history including allegations of sexual abuse against yoga students

Epstein and Andersson-Dubin shared an enthusiasm for yoga. I would be very interested to know more about Epstein's yoga classes / sessions.

Interesting piece on yoga scandals (very far from comprehensive but worth a read)

www.nytimes.com/2012/02/28/health/nutrition/yoga-fans-sexual-flames-and-predictably-plenty-of-scandal.html

and another

SticksOutLikeDogsBalls · 11/08/2019 09:33

I love a good conspiracy theory

hoodathunkit · 11/08/2019 09:40

There are many yoga based cults that operate in exactly the way Epstein's empire of horrors operated.

Male (usually) leader, considered "untouchable".

Coterie of female (mostly) recruiters most of whom are victims turned perpetrators
A pseudo-academic training programme teaching massage and sexual skills and advocating subservience as "empowering"
A culture of silence and complicity to appalling abuses via the forces of social conformity
A mixture of rewards (usually modest) and threats (usually significant) in order to keep the lid on the can of worms
The collection of "compromat" in the form of explicit photos, films and coerced "confessions", the latter often conducted under the guise of "learning blockages" necessary for authentic living
Other seriously dark and evil stuff that is probably inappropriate for me to refer to explicitly here

This piece is a springboard for those wishing to research this further - if you want to do this, please be aware that is is dangerous, just like the Epstein web of connections are dangerous

<a class="break-all" href="https://web.archive.org/web/20190525091126/coconuts.co/bangkok/features/broken-years-sexual-abuse-alleged-agama-yoga-school-koh-phangan/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">web.archive.org/web/20190525091126/coconuts.co/bangkok/features/broken-years-sexual-abuse-alleged-agama-yoga-school-koh-phangan/

hoodathunkit · 11/08/2019 09:41

oops

"learning blockages"

should read

"clearing blockages"

Remember the Barefoot Doctor? He, of course, denied any allegations of sexual molestation with his clients.

www.theguardian.com/uk/2007/jan/28/politics.health

Not entirely on topic, this is an excellent long read regarding rape kits being stored without having been tested. Upward of 11,000!

www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2019/08/an-epidemic-of-disbelief/592807/

Certainly there is something very suspicious about Epstein's 'suicide'. However, the truth of it will never come out. Staunch denials from Buckingham Palace will also lead to further fuel the conspiracy. However, it's all smoke and mirrors to deflect from those complicit in this disgusting affair.

The victims will never see justice and that's the real tragedy. Angry

merrymouse · 11/08/2019 10:49

Trump has actually gone slightly up in my estimation after his recent tweets. If he does pursue this, I'll be impressed.

I think he is just trying to fuel anti Clinton conspiracy theories to deflect blame.

He certainly went to parties where underage girls were made available to older men to grease the wheels of business. Whether or not he actually committed a crime is irrelevant to the fact that he actively benefited from that culture.

He is trying to create noise for the part of the internet that only cares about crimes committed by their own side, and acts as though two crimes cancel each other out if the participants come from opposing political tribes.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 11/08/2019 10:51

This. Whether he was actively involved in the abuse, he certainly knew about it and as pp said, benefitted from the culture around it.

A culture where girls are expendable, a series of orifices for rich, white men.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 11/08/2019 10:51

Trump may do the right thing, but it will be for his own selfish reasons and he will certainly gain from it.

placemats · 11/08/2019 10:57

I watched Fahrenheit 11/9 last night and the section on Trump and his daughter was nauseatingly creepy. Remember this too?

www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2016/oct/13/trump-makes-inappropriate-remarks-about-10-year-old-girl-video

'I'm going to be dating her in 10 years time. Can you believe it?'

merrymouse · 11/08/2019 10:57

oops! " that only cares about crimes committed by THE OTHER side!!!"

MockerstheFeManist · 11/08/2019 11:22

Today's Mail headline: "Andrew's Anguish..."

Gosh, poor Randy Andy.

The stable of BBC Royal Correspondents strangely uninterested in this.

FormerMediocreMale · 11/08/2019 11:39

Sod randy andy, Fergie and their daughters i feel for. Fergie has had to put up with so much shit since she married that creep, I think she must be an incredibly strong woman and will have to play the role she is ordered to yet again.

If Epstein was dispatched (lets be honest with his age and what he was facing it is possible his heart gave out) it was so blatant that if victims starting dropping dead, who would be surprised ditto those that tried to bring the truth to light in the legal and political system.

deepwatersolo · 11/08/2019 13:17

The other possibility is that he’s actually in witness protection, which is far more interesting.

Please. You cannot really believe this is about justice Bowl? If anything, some Secret Service whisked him away so they could get all the info on how to blackmail whom in the great game of politics, imo.

Alternatively, he was killed or he killed himself, whereby nobody can convince me that this was just a blunder. Epstein was currently probably the most watched prisoner internationally, with everyone wondering what beans he would spill... Even if taken off suicide watch, it is unfathomable that they would have presented him with a straightforward way to kill himself by oversight. Not buying it. They at the very, very least consciously gave him a very easy opportunity to do it himself.

To quote Michael Moore: 'Here’s what I know about the uber-rich: They never drive themselves, they’ve never done a load of laundry, and they have no friggin’ clue how to tie a knot in a noose.'

deepwatersolo · 11/08/2019 13:30

He certainly went to parties where underage girls were made available to older men to grease the wheels of business. Whether or not he actually committed a crime is irrelevant to the fact that he actively benefited from that culture.

Agreed. And the big elephant in the room is: even if none of the people visiting Epstein's Island or being around him (Trump, Clintons... all of them, no matter) took part in the sexual exploitation of these girls, they all understood that Epstein did. And they did not think any of it. Because, apparently there is a special set of rules for the uber-rich, particularly relating to their dealings with the unwashed.
