"An open wound...": horrific detransitioner story

No words for this. A 16 year old coerced into going the whole way up to genital surgery.
The result is heartbreaking.

sexchangeregret.com/27-year-old-man-regrets-having-surgery/?fbclid=IwAR2tl9j0hCdvvvkIBcvZjEAdrw28fUeKdv_-PsGSi1dqxZ0nh1DkBSWXgTo

WARNING: very graphic quote. If you think it's TOO graphic I'll report it. Not sure about MN rules. But I think we need to see this up front. Especially lurkers on the fence.

I tried to have sex with a man 8 months after my bottom surgery and I felt disgusted with myself for having him penetrate a pool of bacteria. Blood came out of the cavity during penetration and I could see he was uncomfortable with the looks of the vulva and with the feeling of the vagina on his penis.

He knew I was trans, I told him, but he had never dated a trans woman before.

I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis around 1 year post op. The vaginal cavity was full of unhealthy bacteria, despite me douching with isobetadine regularly.

At this point it became very clear to me that what I have between my legs is nothing more than a surgically created wound.

I honestly don’t understand how this surgery is even legal. It butchers a healthy body and comes with life threatening side effects.

Watch out for that twitter link, when I tried to navigate away I suddenly got a vid of someone (male bodied) wanking in a women’s toilet. Which isn’t the sort of thing I usually see on Twitter or at this time in the morning.

SophoclesTheFox · 04/08/2019 09:12

Is it unusual, field? To me it seems we will hear more and more about this as the inevitable result of the sheer scale of cultural grooming on this topic going on right now.

What’s your suggestion of how we prevent any more people going through what this poor, poor child did?

Do you think regretting transition is a thing, or not?

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 04/08/2019 09:17

littlecabbage and codenamevillanelle thank you. And.. yikes! to the need for dilators. Agree that obviously skin that wasn't ment to be internal will of course have problems being forced to be in hot moist damp condition all the time.

Imagine going through all that surgery and recovery and infections and regular dilation entails, but you'll never actually ever be able to enjoy sex.... and your feeling of wrongness doesn't go away because they treated a mental health condition as if it was biological. Sad

HopeClearwater · 04/08/2019 09:24

whole flesh tunnel trend 20 bloody years ago

I’m hoping that in 20 years all this transgender shit will be a thing of the past, or at least the subject of a lot of regret-filled litigation.

Lamahaha · 04/08/2019 09:28

Field:
It’s also seems extremely unusual. The persons account has no history mentioned of how they felt when they were younger. Did they see themself as a girl? Want to be one? Hate their male body? How did they feel about it? No internal life or emotions reported which is unusual.

So what? The fact that he doesn't relate his entire pre-history doesn't mean that there wasn't one. It just means he wanted to get to the point, which is, that surgery was a disaster, and how.

I'm one of those people who prefer succinct articles. If there'd been a long, long explanation about his feels as a child and his mummy-issues before he got to the transition bit, I'd have either skimmed through it or not bothered to read it at all.

He's focused on one aspect of his story. Not to right an autobiography.

Sophocles yes there are people who regret. I agree there should be much more therapy and checks first. There used to be I believe. It has become a social fad in some cases. Important to hear the bad experiences as well.

littlecabbage · 04/08/2019 10:20

I can't imagine that anyone's experience of having a "neo-vagina"/stinking, infected, skin cavity with no sexual feeling, is not going to be deemed by them a "bad experience" in the long term. Especially if groomed into having one before the age of 30.

NotBadConsidering · 04/08/2019 12:04

It’s been pointed out on here before, but the only reason there is any “depth” created is so a man can stick his penis in it. I don’t understand why there needs to be a deep-enough hole. I can kind of understand the need to remove a penis, and I can kind of understand the need for it to look like a vulva, but the only thing I can seem to take from the need for a numb, smelly, deep-enough hole is for someone else’s benefit. What am I missing?

FloralBunting · 04/08/2019 12:07

NotBad

Nothing. You're missing nothing, and you've nearly highlighted yet another gross element to this. As if there weren't enough already.

Sexnotgender · 04/08/2019 12:08

That’s heartbreaking!

They were fucking groomed by a predator.

FormerMediocreMale · 04/08/2019 12:13

So grim, could they not just have anal sex? Could the hole be closed up and poor person have a better life that way? They are a gay male so surely that could be an option for potential partners?

Poor love. Where are the medical ethics?

A quick Google finds lots of articles clearly telling us that brain development continues well into the twenties. And the sex hormones are likely to play a part in neuro & physical as well as genital. So despite the claim that 'kids know who they are and should be affirmed', the medical profession must surely be aware that mutilating unfinished minds, bodies and brains goes directly against their Hippocratic oath?

Doobigetta · 04/08/2019 13:52

TW do tend to resort to prostitution or end up in industries that involve 'selling their bodies'.
It's not a taboo to them, is it?

I think that’s a bit of a leap too far, Wrath. Not really fair comment. They’re people with a right to privacy and dignity. Not at the expense of ours, but that isn’t what we’re talking about,

BoronationStreet · 04/08/2019 13:57

This is incredibly sad. Sad

Goosefoot · 04/08/2019 13:59

On top of that they seem to have been railroaded into transition by another person who quite possibly was unstable. It isn’t like the jazz Jennings case or other accounts at all.

Except Jennings mother decided that they were really a girl as a toddler. I doubt Jazz can really even remember being treated as a boy.

Goosefoot · 04/08/2019 14:03

I think people who feel very alienated from their bodies, for any reason, may be more likely to try prostitution, or for that matter other self-destructive sexual practices, that someone who doesn't have that kind of problem. Usually with prostitution there is also a financial pressure of course.

FormerMediocreMale · 04/08/2019 14:07

wrath i think thats a bit harsh.

This person was groomed, when the groomer who had funded them died they were left in a pretty shitty situation. Plenty of women in shitty situations resort to prostitution also.

user1486131602 · 04/08/2019 14:22

Holy crap! People! Lots of assumptions here!
It’s not about others morals, but the very sad situation this person has been left to live in.
What if it was you?

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 04/08/2019 15:22

Jazz Jennings who was told they popped open the poppers on their babygro at age 2 to turn it into a dress because the 2 year old Jazz knew instinctively that girls wore dressesHmm
And the price Jazz has paid is that they will never develop and adult brain and never have a sexual feeling in their life

Fieldofgreycorn · 04/08/2019 17:22

Actually NotBad you miss a lot. Gay women often do enjoy penetration together in all sorts of ways and without a penis involved.

littlecabbage · 04/08/2019 18:13

Yes, but lesbians have an actual vagina, from which they can get pleasurable sensations. NotBad is making the point that a numb cavity made from inverted skin will not give sexual pleasure to its owner. And what kind of person would enjoying penetrating such an orifice? Only someone with a fetish.

Bezalelle · 04/08/2019 19:04

I agree with the others who take exception to what you wrote there, Wrath.

BooLooBoo · 04/08/2019 20:10

There's a subreddit dedicated to detransitioners and their stories. Apparently persuading one's partner to transition, have SRS and then dumping them is becoming a recognised form of partner abuse. I wonder if that was the underlying motive here.

Yes I had that thought too. I have seen that subreddit. It makes the most sense as a motive that I can see.

It isn't clear what happened with his parents after he ran away, but it is clear that he was a vulnerable young person. Society should be looking after the vulnerable, not doing this. It shouldn't be allowed to happen.

To me it's partly a result of the consumerist, detached from nature, kind of world that we live in. And it's all centred on the individual, even to their own detriment.
