Jonny Best to be investigated for transphobia by Uni of Huddersfield

Some kind soul at University of Huddersfield has initiated a formal complaint against me for contravening the uni's social media and trans equality policies with my 'transphobia'. Here is the info passed to me today - note the attempt to smear me with mention of 'victimisation'.

In every one of those examples put forward by the complainant, Jonny says “ideology” but the complainant changes it to “people”. Remarkable that someone who has reached university-level education doesn’t know the difference.

That was my first thought too. Expelling people who make nonsense or vexatious complaints would be an idea but this individual clearly needs the education.

The mission creep of expelling individuals for ideas and wrong think has an alarming momentum and I can't think of a period in history when that has ended well.

I think it feels more like the cultural revolution at the moment. (Obvs not at the mass killing level). Which, when I read about it (from reading Wild Swans in the 90s) I always wondered how such a thing could happen, and people just go along with it, en masse. Now I know.

There's an update!

The complaint against me at University of Huddersfield has been thrown out; there is no case for me to answer. However, the university has issued me with a formal warning because I went public with the details. I am appealing this sanction immediately.

Hah 'went public with the details' means we are embarrassed about the whole thing and want to brush it under the carpet.

SO glad the complaint has been thrown and I hope the complainant has been suitably reprimanded for bringing it in the first place. Very glad too that Jonny isn't taking the formal warning lying down. He's right. There must be transparency in these situations.

Yes - a formal warning on @JonnyBest 's record would be tantamount to saying, "You've been cleared but the Uni is willing to be complicit with the intimidatory intention of this complaint and beyond the worrying and exhausting process you have still emerged with a demerit".

Excellent news re the complaint being thrown out, Johnny. I'm very relieved for you. I wonder if at some point there will be recourse against people making complaints in bad faith?
