I've just been googling waxing in my area.
It seems there are specific male services advertised (male therapist) and female only services.
There are larger salons that offer treatments to both but don't specify the sex of the therapist carrying out the treatment so they could feasibly employ male and female staff.
One of the large salons only offers chest and back waxing for men and has this disclaimer so I'm guessing the therapists are probably female.
Please Note
We do not do intimate male waxing and we operate a chaperone policy so that staff are not alone in the building with someone they don’t know. This means that if you are a new customer we may not be able to accommodate you at short notice.
I also noted that one of the larger salons has warning in the male massage section that says 'No extras so please don't ask' - clearly this is a common occurrence. It should be noted there is no such warning on the female page for the same massage!
It all seems rather sensible and there is somewhere for everyone to go to receive a service (unless you are a vexatious individual who seeks validation at the expense of others).
