Banned from women-only FB group

A trans woman edited by MNHQ because OP is using second language posted in a women's only FB group wanting free emotional labour and "validation" from untrained women to help them with getting over their abusive ex boyfriend.

I stated it wasn't appropriate to ask untrained women to take on their emotional labour, especially considering what had happened to them was so traumatic (according to them they ended up in hospital), and especially not for free and suggested they seek professional help instead.

Cue trans woman and women stating I was being transphobic, and "wouldn't understand the fear a marginalised group would go through."

I was told I hadn't been through a traumatic experience before so couldn't possibly understand what the OP was going through.

I've been banned from a group specifically designed for women. Nowhere in the post did I mention anything about the OP being trans.

I am so sick of this shit. The world has gone mad.

Naw it just became a round abouty of nothing been said. And truly nothing been said of any interest after first few pages
Gtg start a war. Bbl

JessicaWakefieldSV · 14/07/2019 21:14

Part of the emotional labour required of women is indeed to "validate" MTF trans. You were right to refuse.

^^ this

genuine discussion doesn’t involve repeating the same things and asking the same things, over and over.

And why does that happen? Maybe because a discussion is had and then a new poster joins in who raised a previously addressed point and so the same answers are repeated, or, as the OP did here, someone tries to re write history by repeatedly saying that they didn't say something that they blatantly did say. So why can't people point out, everytime, that actually they did say it?

You are making out like it's only posters on one side of the argument doing this but it isn't.

PCohle · 14/07/2019 21:15

Naw it just became a round abouty of nothing been said.

Whereas your posts really upped the level of discourse Hmm

serialtester · 14/07/2019 21:17

I just think you've all got far too much time on your hands.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 14/07/2019 21:18

more veg

i'll make a note of that. i used to hate wasting 75% of the seeds from a £2.99 packet, because I could never keep them well enough that the left overs germinated properly the next year. thanks Jess

JessicaWakefieldSV · 14/07/2019 21:20

You’re welcome

FormerMediocreMale · 14/07/2019 21:27

Cucumelons - never heard of them before. They are amazing, just disappointed they taste of cucumber rather than melon as i don't like cucumber.

Bernard the number of seeds you normally get is far too many so much better to pay less for less seeds.

RosesAndRaindrops · 14/07/2019 21:27

You could say that about everyone who posts on MN lol

Hi meat
I've read the full thread and have to agree with Doyoumind.
It feels like some people are reading a completely different thread to me.
I can't add anything else to it but I think you are right and hopefully more women who have been banned will get in contact with you.
On another note, have you seen Dark on netflix? It's a series from a Germany and it is really outstanding.

littlbrowndog · 14/07/2019 21:33

Ok on the seed thing Aldi was selling off their multi seed packets at 49p
They are good seeds. As said above I can waste seeds

littlbrowndog · 14/07/2019 21:34

Is it scary once ?

Datun · 14/07/2019 21:39

Early you aren’t be civil or constructive so I’m just not engaging. What an unpleasant discussion this has turned into

It really has. One of the worst. Some posters are really quite unpleasant.

OP, please ignore this thread. This is not what FWR is usually like.

Go have a beer, and forget about this post.

littlbrowndog · 14/07/2019 21:43

Yeah datun

Shitefest tbh

This.

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 14/07/2019 21:49

Little
First episode I was a bit eek this a bit scary but then it turned into one of the most interesting programmes I've ever seen. It's time travel one, but not as you know it. Give it a try, at least 2 episodes. I've been enthralled by it.Can't say much, don't want to spoil it!

RosesAndRaindrops · 14/07/2019 21:49

I agree with you there.

Go have a beer, and forget about this post
Grin
What with all th oi ois and veg talk, now this "move along, nothing to see here go have a beer and forget about it some are really, really desperate for the topic not to be spoken about, aren't they lol.
I'd love to know how it's de-railing to ask a question or disagree with something someone says but all this bonkersness to desperately shut the thread up is A-OK?

RosesAndRaindrops · 14/07/2019 21:53

So why can't people point out, everytime, that actually they did say it?
Because you can't. Didn't you know you're just supposed to let it slide?
All agree, no dissent?

littlbrowndog · 14/07/2019 21:54

Naw rose you are just a bore tbh

Cheers once. Will give it a try I like that sort of stuff

AloneLonelyLoner · 14/07/2019 21:55

@maet this is the first time I've RTFT and can't add much (as it's late here and I'm lame), except to say the same thing has happened to me. Being chucked out of a women-only group by a man. It's startling

I am in Germany (in tech strangely) and did wonder at first if it was a language/cultural thing and in my experience Americans are very quick to take offence at Germans (wrongly usually). But it does seem like the whole group pounced on what was a perfectly reasonable post about the inappropriateness of such a story on the group page.

I'm sorry @maet that you've experienced this too. I know how upsetting it can be.

RosesAndRaindrops · 14/07/2019 21:57

Bore? That's a new one, I'll take it although the way you just jump in with oi oi rally cries and resort to personal insults says a heck of a lot about what goes on on here

DecomposingComposers · 14/07/2019 22:00

Because you can't. Didn't you know you're just supposed to let it slide?
All agree, no dissent?

It's like there's some kind of collective amnesia or something, all denying that certain things have been said when they are there as plain as day for everyone to read.

It is truly bizarre to witness.

maet · 14/07/2019 22:01

@Oncewasblueandyellowtwo Dark is great - it's not often we do a good series so I was really impressed with it and can highly recommend it to anyone if you don't mind subtitles!
I'm watching Inside No. 9 which was recommended to me on MN. I do love British black comedies, or British comedies in general.
A tip: absolutely never ever watch the German version of The Office. It's awful 😅

PCohle · 14/07/2019 22:01

It's amazing the way no one ever tells a poster who is agreeing with them to get a life and get off mumsnet.

The absolute hypocrisy about derailing is astonishing. Truth you posted earlier asking MNHQ to step in and stop posters derailing the thread. That only goes for derailing by posters you disagree with then?
