Oh the irony of being lectured about being rude by someone who, in the context of a discussion about whether an insistence that TWAW meant it was justified to place male-bodied rapist Karen White into a women's prison, where White went on to sexually assault two of the women inmates, said "Here's my answer - I don't give a shit."

Being gay is about being attracted to people of the same sex.

If you want to compare being transgender to being gay or being Muslim, can you supply a similar definition for what 'being transgender' is?

For that comparison to stand, we would have to be living in times where it was mandatory to become Muslim in order to keep your job, where government institutions were mandating mosque attendance, and saying “Christians can’t be Muslims” would get you a visit from the West Yorkshire Police.

It’s not working for me as a comparison, I’m afraid.

A person who believes their sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex?

How is believing you were born in the wrong body any more crazy than believing a big guy in the sky created the world and watches everyone?

I think "attack" means "disagreeing with my opinions, and being able to back their disagreement up with actual facts and logical argument," Jacky. I believe that sort of thing could be somewhat "triggering" to someone mired in cognitive dissonance. Having attention drawn to the gap between what you believe and how the world actually is must be psychologically somewhat discombobulating.

I don't know if that's aimed at me, but in the time that Roses had posted half a dozen times 'cite your sources', I had googled and found the links, so all I was doing was saying that that was what they could have done
I could have done, you're right. That doesn't change the fact random numbers were thrown out without backup into the thread for anyone reading
In what seemed to be a "thousands of people are all doing this" way - which people could think "oh god, yes all the people transing is terrible it's an epidemic" way.
Which if it isn't questioned and blindly gone along with is how it comes across.
