He has a point about the demonisation of 'chavs' and the middle class attitude of looking down people's noses, which helped to enable austerity and a culture where we judge the deserving and undeserving poor. He understands the corruption and bastardisation of language better than most cos he wrote a book about the point.
However after that he ran out of ideas and I'd argue has gone directly against that principle in many respects, because supporting Labour without question was more important. He's since made a living out of his understanding of propaganda and communication in more than one way
He clearly demonstrates he knows how language matters and how it can be used in a way which is harmful against groups which are marginalised. So he actively uses it when it suits his own personal political aims.
This I have a BIG issue with. He either has an enormous lack of integrity and lack of self awareness or he is acting in a way which is rather more sinister. Which is why I like to refer to him as Mr 1984, because thats his twitter handle and I refuse to beleive that is a choice without thought because I like to make the connect to the concept of totalitarian IngSoc which Jones is quite blantantly peddling in real life.
I dislike anyone who actively pushes euphemist phrases in a political context, regardless of their political persuasion as its against the interest of the public at large as its a tactic to hide the truth and material reality behind whilst things can be done against the population without proper accountability and transparency. Its fundamentally anti-democratic and authoritarian.
