I find this truly disgusting. This is a list of emotions that many teenagers feel. The ref to ASD and mental health issues is appalling.

Angry

I can't post what I'm thinking as it would get me banned.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/04/2019 16:57

Happy
Sad
Excited
Bored
Put on weight
Lose weight
Standing up
Sitting down
Awake
Asleep...

Oh yes,
cut and dried.

NellieEllie · 13/04/2019 17:03

I cannot believe they can get away with this. Children with mental health problems or ASD - or teenage angst, need help and support through their adolescence, not puberty blockers and chest binders.

Is this written by a medical expert on gender dysphoria? Or an ideologue.

So everyone has gender dysphoria. Excellent. Now can we stop pretending it is a thing and let children go through all the awkward phases they do without making them lifelong medical patients.

SpinneyHill · 13/04/2019 17:10

So anyone who believes in Gender being real and important is feeling shit because they don't fit into One or the other?

Why haven't any angry Feminist women offered up a solution to that.....

Antibles · 13/04/2019 17:10

Ridiculous. "Any negative experience or emotion whatsoever? You could be gender dysphoric."

I don't like that last one. Experiencing decreased gender dysphoria? That's a sign of gender dysphoria! No escaping our clutches that way.

LangCleg · 13/04/2019 17:12

So now critique via comorbidities is gaining traction, the response is not to reflect on possible harms but to appropriate those comborbities as symptoms.

Jesus fucking Christ.

LangCleg · 13/04/2019 17:12

(Apols for terrible spelling.)

maslinpan · 13/04/2019 17:16

Most of the comments are also entirely unimpressed by this woolly, self-contradictory nonsense.

Imnobody4 · 13/04/2019 17:17

Just looked at #EPATH 2019 thread. It's an official conference. Keynote lecture by Alex Sharpe on Sexual Intimacy, Gender Identity and Fraud.

NellieEllie · 13/04/2019 17:20

@Antibles. You are absolutely right. If you no longer feel you have gender dysphoria, that is a SIGN that you have gender dysphoria. Is that a bit, well, mad?

OldCrone · 13/04/2019 17:21

This one's just as bad.

Instead of 'doing nothing', how about some mental health support?

That list almost describes me in my teens. A combination of a horrible puberty and the onset of clinical depression that's dogged me on and off all my life.
I also really struggled with my mum as she was very into "girls do this don't do that" mentality.
I'm not trans. I was a naive lonely teenager who might well have gone along with something like that if it made me feel part of a group and less like a loner freak.

DaiStation · 13/04/2019 17:25

Some of this is actually offensive - bipolar and autism as presentations of gender dysphoria?! They might co-occur but I'm pretty sure for example that my severe depression, mania and psychosis aren't just my gender dysphoria talking...

terfsandwich · 13/04/2019 17:25

Snapshot in case they delete it.

Datun · 13/04/2019 17:29

Decreasing gender dysphoria is a sign of gender dysphoria?

So puberty, where 80% become reconciled to their sex, is a sign they're getting worse!

This is like the advice that if you are not receiving any complaints of transphobia in your school, it's not because there isn't any, it's because no one is reporting it.

So, obviously, loads of complaints of transphobia is bad, but equally few or no complaints, is just as bad.

What a fucking racket.

Thingybob · 13/04/2019 17:32

These slides came from a presentation yesterday by Johanna Olson Kennedy. She is worshiped by trans parents on both side of the Atlantic.

GirlDownUnder · 13/04/2019 17:32

Old oh my Christ - those scales! Shit the bed! It’s even labeled J O-K
which I read as joke, but maybe I’m addled.

I just... I can’t. I’ll be banned.

OldCrone · 13/04/2019 17:36

Johanna Olson-Kennedy. Friend of Helen Webberley.

LangCleg · 13/04/2019 17:38

I just... I can’t. I’ll be banned.

That you can't provide an honest response to this speaks fucking volumes.

GirlDownUnder · 13/04/2019 17:39

Ahh ok - thanks Old of corse. I should think first, no get mad at the net.

GirlDownUnder · 13/04/2019 17:44

Lang it makes me want to cry.

I don’t have kids, but I do have young people I love. I even have people I’ve never met, will never meet, who will be fucked up by this shit.

And I’m not even given the words I need to articulate how wrong this feels to me.

Thingybob · 13/04/2019 17:44

Just looked at #EPATH 2019 thread. It's an official conference

I read through this yesterday, a synopsis of all the presentations and workshops over the 3 day conference.

It gives an indication of how much money there is sploshing about in the trans industry.

IAmNotInvisible · 13/04/2019 17:45

I'm at a loss to know how anyone can sit through a talk which presents such vague statements and not challenge it to be honest.
