Hi I'm a long time lurker, who read with disgust the last thread and wants to send , to caro. I've scanned since last thread finished for new one but no luck! Hope no one minds if I start one!

I too have made a donation but would also like reassurance it will go to your legal costs not to your ministry as I echo the PP: I can handle the dissonance of supporting you on some issues and not others!

Just as there are lawyers who are keen to 'test the laws' and try to make a name for themselves by taking on such vexatious claims, there must be others on the other side of the fence (or history of you will) who are raging at the misuse of laws to protect being used to attach and abuse (and brave enough to go against the mob).

@Absolutepowercorrupts have you seen the order? I'm curious as to why that would have been ordered. That would be very unusual (I'm a litigation lawyer dealing with court orders all the time). Usually you can choose from a raft of options for service. First class post is usually the method of choice in most cases.

The doc's thinly-veiled attempt to scare women into not donating to a crowdfunder has made me want to donate again. Excellent work, raising awareness and reminding me to pop back to donate some more.

Generally speaking, the discretion will not be exercised against “pure funders”, i.e. “those with no personal interest in the litigation, who do not stand to benefit from it, are not funding it as a matter of business, and in no way seek to control its course”.

I’m sure Caro would donate any excess to charities supporting women who have experienced violence in all its forms. Or are some of you concerned about scuttlebut?

Any surplus funds will go straight into the corporate pot or fund set up to help other people finding themselves in similar situations.

I think an umbrella fund is an incredible idea and needs expediting ASAP.

What I saw was the revolting blog, with a screenshot of Caro's tweet questioning the personal service of the order, with explanations of the wording of the order in vile terms by the author of the blog who appeared to have access to the order. I do believe that the use of " in person" as a standard phrase, meaning by letter or other means to make sure that the document reaches the correct person has been seized upon by the narc and the narc has used this to validate their position.

Court appearance is at 2pm on Thursday. The High Court. Just in case anyone is at a loose end.

Well it's just nonsense. "Personal" in service refers to the Defendant, as in you can't serve it on a proxy. It doesn't refer to a claimant being required to stomp off in a very unfeminine way to do it themself. CPR 6.5 is very clear and easy to read, particularly for anyone with a track record of being involved in civil litigation, whoever they might be.
Which means whoever wrote that blog is either stupid, malicious or simply poorly advised.
