Apparently telling women to 'die in a grease fire' is hate speech. Who knew?

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Yes, still tweeting, McKinnon’s tweets in the last few hours are classic DARVO, with a smattering of abuse of Paula Radcliffe for good measure.

LizzieSiddal · 29/03/2019 22:15

We’ve seen it all before, Harrop, McKinnon and SH, narsassistic rages when their authority is questioned.

At least it’s all in the open and we can gather evidence.

Ereshkigal · 29/03/2019 22:15

How dishonest they are.

FermatsTheorem · 29/03/2019 22:17

Not knowing who Linda Riley is, I googled... glad to see MN already has the answers Wink

“transphobe have adopted the practice of misgendering trans women with 'they' pronouns, because they know that they'll be banned for using 'he'

They're doing it on purpose.”

Have they only just worked this out?

FermatsTheorem · 29/03/2019 22:20

I find it offensive to be subjected to compelled speech and being forced to mis-sex someone for their own validation when they are being openly misogynistic and saying vile, vile things about women. Not going to do it.

CaptainMarvelBunting · 29/03/2019 22:21

"transphobe have adopted the practice of misgendering trans women with 'they' pronouns, because they know that they'll be banned for using 'he'

Lolololol. Yes, pal. I do it all the time about people for whom if I used the correct sex pronoun, I would be deleted or banned. And until we are truly in a dystopia where you can compel speech, there ain't nothing you can do about it, McKinnon.

Iused2BanOptimist · 29/03/2019 22:24

I rarely use "they" as I just can't use plural for singular. Mostly I do all sorts of grammatical somersaults to avoid using pronouns at all. Initials work well for me RMK.

EweSurname · 29/03/2019 22:25

Oh sorry kat didn’t see that you’d posted about Linda Riley!

MrsJamin · 29/03/2019 22:25

Me neither. I will talk about McKinnon by referring to McKinnon as McKinnon, and not use pronouns at all.

nauticant · 29/03/2019 22:30

A good thing about the stunning and brave™ crowd sorting out T*'s use of "they" is that it would require compelling the use of "she". They might get a bit shock when that edict goes out to the general public: use "she" or else you'll end up in court and possibly then in prison.

Over-reach. We need to see lots of it.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 29/03/2019 22:31

Same. I don’t believe misgendering is a thing so as MN has silly rules that make it impossible for me to correctly sex a person, even a person who refers to people using sex based slurs and uses hateful language directed at women every single day, I shall use ‘they’ or a persons name. Compelled speech isn’t law creepy stalker.

CaptainMarvelBunting · 29/03/2019 22:48

Yes, indeed. Initials or neutrality is all certain people get out of me. And an invitation to plant a smackeroony on my peachy if they don't like it.

pombear · 29/03/2019 22:58

It appears RMK would like us all to be compelled to use forced-speech to make us all refer to RMK in the way that RMK would like us to refer to RMK. I, for one, am glad that RMK is back on Twitter in all RMK's glory - helps to shed light on RMK's batshittery.

And personally, the more RMK expresses RMK's wish that I should only refer to RMK by the pronouns that RMK demands, the less I feel minded to do so.

Like many have said previously, here and on twitter, lots of women who RMK would class as 'transphobes' (aka women seeking to ensure women's rights aren't rolled back) are actually women who've had loads of experience in dealing with toddler tantrums and know the importance of holding lines and boundaries.

Linda, on the other hand, is more of a puzzle. Has she hitched her wagon to the wrong horse and is now too embarrassed/entangled/financially comitted to be able to unhitch?

Because it seems a very odd look for a lesbian so stridently defending and helping someone like RMK, who has suggested that lesbians should 'cope/adjust' just fine to an encounter with a penis.

Justhadathought · 29/03/2019 23:00

Only suspended...not banned?

littlbrowndog · 29/03/2019 23:05

Yeah McKinnon was suspended for saying that women should die in a great fire.

McKinnon mate Linda Reilly said she had connections to help her

Reilly the lesbian who is gonna have to adjust to the penis according to McKinnon but hey that’s what friends do

Sharing and caring

BettyFloop · 29/03/2019 23:10

For all XX warrior women and with a slice of nose snub to those who'd have us "die in a grease fire"...

andyoldlabour · 29/03/2019 23:13

"Because it seems a very odd look for a lesbian so stridently defending and helping someone like RMK, who has suggested that lesbians should 'cope/adjust' just fine to an encounter with a penis."

Thanks Pombear, I am really perplexed by this, because none of it makes any sense.
Why are the "handmaidens" protecting RMK when they are openly hateful of women, whatever their sexual persuasion?
I honestly think that RMK's earlier tweets were so obscene, that they could be taken as an incitement of violence towards women, which in the UK is surely a criminal offence?

Ereshkigal · 29/03/2019 23:13

This, exactly. We can also avoid using pronouns at all, which is my preferred option.

Datun · 29/03/2019 23:23

But to deliberately target women undergoing an unpleasant medical procedure who just want to maintain a modicum of dignity, privacy and control over what happens to their own body - and do so advocating for a cause which erodes these boundaries in such a way that it's a very real possibility that in future women will have the stark choice of AGP health care professionals versus refusing vital medical tests... That's just evil.

Indeed it is.

McKinnon can't help themself. KF predicted that tenure would ensure the (barely there) mask would drop like a stone.

Bring it on.

Justhadathought · 29/03/2019 23:24

Wow! Linda Riley actually hates women. Life's ironies never fail to surprise. I reckon Linda Riley doesn't really 'identify' as ( & therefore with) a woman at all

lady69 · 29/03/2019 23:25

The cyclepath. We know it’s game.

Hulo · 29/03/2019 23:36

Some I'm happy to call by their desired pronouns - generally those too well mannered to demand or bully... politeness and respect breeds the same. RM will forever be a 'they' or an RM on here and Twitter. Never ever anything else.

Ereshkigal · 29/03/2019 23:39

I'm not happy to call any male person by female pronouns. It feels much better now I've stopped doing that, and I'm not reversing it.
