And, as she says in the thread:

"Meanwhile a group of people have terrified and harassed my family. Doxed my children, made violent and sexual threats, signed me up to porn accounts, did the same to my husband, threatened to visit here. And tumbleweed..."

Flowers for caro

Great news. Maybe a wee bit of overreach their eh Susie?

Your own little army you’ve got at your disposal to bully any woman who has independent thought different from your own. Is their push back in your ranks?

Susie Green, you’re a disgrace and should not be anywhere near children. The time will come when you have to answer for your choices to intimidate, bully and manipulate. Hopefully starting with your removal from your position that has influence over our children and finishing with your arrest and prosecution for the abuse of your own child.

India willoughby has tweeted saying India will be on gmb later discussing this

Sarcelle · 20/03/2019 07:19

I know it stucks in my craw to rely on men, but for once I am glad the professional loudmouth Piers Morgan mentions this a lot on national tv. He is highlighting the farcical nature of this debate in quite an effective way. He is bringing it to the attention of a lot of people who never noticed what was going on.

BigFatGiant · 20/03/2019 07:20

Maybe a mass tweet at the police force in question would send the right message. Can anyone think of a clever hashtag? #gofightactualcrime? #doyouractualjob? #whyareyousostupid?

Sarcelle · 20/03/2019 07:21

Wonder what IW take will be. I am not able to watch, on way to work. If anybody does watch could you please update.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 20/03/2019 07:21

Piers also mentioned this case of someone demanding compensation for misgendering :

James Kirkup:

spectator.us/misgendering-child-british-journalist/

Jackie Green, who identifies as female, was born male and was once known as Jack. After hormone treatment in the US to prevent the onset of male puberty, Jackie Green underwent ‘penis inversion’ surgery in Thailand at the age of 16, the youngest person ever to undergo such a procedure. (That was in around 2010. Thailand has since changed the law to set a minimum age of 18 for such surgery.)
I do know that Susie Green has made several public comments about her child’s past anatomy and gender identity, including in a 2012 BBC documentary (Transsexual Teen, Beauty Queen) when she said this:

‘Having the anatomy of a boy was a constant reminder that she still wasn’t who she wanted to be.’

The documentary also includes some footage of Susie Green discussing the detail of that inversion surgery, with what appears to be a degree of amusement.

Since the investigation is ongoing and some of the details remain unclear, I will say no about this for now, other than to repeat the core fact of the case:

A British police force is investigating a journalist because of words that she published.

Sarcelle · 20/03/2019 07:22

#gofightactualcrime - to the point!

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/03/2019 07:25

Does the FGM legislation specifically mention which organs need to be cut and interfered with?

Yes, very much so. Fgm has 4 stages and each stage is listed in detail so absolutely wouldn't be valid here as Jackie didn't have labia cut off/sewn up, etc.

I get that fgm and what SG's child had done are very different with different reasons behind it. But the point I was making is that it seems crazy one is illegal to take a child abroad for and the other isn't. Fair enough as an adult if you want to chop your genitals off but there ought to be something put into law that it's illegal to take a child abroad to have it done. It's almost like current law hasn't caught up with current practice.

Carowiththegoodhair · 20/03/2019 07:27

This is good. My phone is going crazy.

Floisme · 20/03/2019 07:29

Very pleased for you Caro.
And before the media move on to the next story, maybe someone could hang around and do a little digging into why Mermaids seem to have the police on speed dial.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/03/2019 07:30

Can you just say ‘I withdraw my complaint’ or do you need to say why? I suspect this case will be ‘the nasty bullies made me scared’. Case for wasting police time?

I suspect the questions of ‘who your child? Why would someone call a girl a boy? Ahhh cute baby photo - is that your little girl...oh. So when, how, what? Oh’. Too many questions on a decision that a career has built on justifying.

I almost feel... nah

I read the mail yesterday - no mention of the abuse that Caro has been having not the police apathy with regards to that. Friends in low places indeed.

hackmum · 20/03/2019 07:30

Very much looking forward to reading Caro’s piece on Sunday. I think this will peak trans a whole new swathe of people.

TirisfalPumpkin · 20/03/2019 07:34

That’s really good news. I will specifically buy a paper for Caro’s article. This is journalism worth supporting.

Green’s conduct surely meets the legal definition of harassment by now.

LizzieSiddal · 20/03/2019 07:37

Flowers Caro, I’m very pleased this seems to have been resolved so quickly. You shouldn’t have had to go through this but the one good thing to come out of this, is the very clear message that the UK media and general population, will not put up with this 1984 nonsense.

Skittlesss · 20/03/2019 07:43

Can you just say ‘I withdraw my complaint’ or do you need to say why?

Usually you would give a statement saying why. Eg. Some DV victims withdraw and they say something along the lines of: my previous statement was true, the events occurred, but I no longer support police prosecution because... (I don’t want to go to court / we are back together / I’m pregnant).

ToeToToe · 20/03/2019 07:43

Good. Well done, Caro - going public and shining a light on this s definitely the best thing.

Adrian Harrop &co can stop crowing on twitter now Wink Grin

TimeLady · 20/03/2019 07:45

Way to go, Mr Kirkup Grin

You managed that without using any pronoun in ref to Jackie AND to include that video clip of Susie being somewhat 'amused' at her child's surgery.

Hard as it is personally, Caroline, we need cases like yours and the others to be put in the spotlight to cut through the BS.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/03/2019 07:50

I see Harry the owl is in fine form on twitter:

Xxx - man
Xxx - man
Xxx - man!
Come and get me...

Now when is the investigation going to happen into why the police appear to be the the personal attack dogs of a certain charity?

littlbrowndog · 20/03/2019 07:54

Great news caro

We still have shark who was arrested in front of her children and put in jail by police for Something said on twitter and hasn’t heard what is happening to her

LangCleg · 20/03/2019 07:56

You managed that without using any pronoun in ref to Jackie AND to include that video clip of Susie being somewhat 'amused' at her child's surgery.

And made a suppression of the press point that nobody else has.

Also: methinks the tweets he highlighted were chosen very deliberately.

hackmum · 20/03/2019 07:57

Are the police now going to investigate the intimidation of Caro by Harrop and Hayden?

EweSurname · 20/03/2019 07:59

Perhaps Harry could lead a Spartacus moment, getting men to put themselves in the firing line for a change!

I'm sure loads on twitter would happily take part

Janie143 · 20/03/2019 08:01

Harry the Owl is fantastic

OrchidInTheSun · 20/03/2019 08:06

Now Green has withdrawn the complaint, who's covering the costs of the 'thorough investigation'?
