McKinnon is in serious danger of overreaching McKinnonself. Overplaying the hand, as it were. It's a common mistake made by egomaniacs, especially those that exist in a self-constructed echo chamber.

Targeting beloved sports heroes, what a great way to peak more people. I rewatched Kelly Holmes' Olympic wins on YouTube last night, she was so amazing. The idea of success like that being stolen from women makes me so angry. Why isn't RM embarrassed at their hollow victories? I cannot imagine wanting to draw attention to myself in those circumstances.

Most of the replies are in support of Dame Kelly, and so they bloody should be. Why don't companies do a bit of research before responding on social media? It's a masterclass in how not to defend your brand!

Reading some of this stuff, makes me feel it is. And the use of the bloody work "cis". On what planet does Rachel McKinnon feel it is alright to claim their preferred pronouns etc, but at the same time ignore the preferences of others.

These companies who are willing to throw half the population under a bus to look progressive, they don't half take women and their custom for granted.

I've already tweeted this, but its worth repeating here...the first time I met Dame Kelly Holmes she was helping a young girl in a wheelchair complete the Jr Great North Run. The first time I was aware of Rachel McKinnon she was encouraging vulnerable children to run away from home.

This distinction needs to be made. Not fit to lick her running spikes.

McK has me blocked, even though I have never interacted with McK on twitter - but there are plenty of screenshots showing McK's bullying tactics.

TRAs are really showing themselves up now - you'd have to be a hopeless fool to think Dame Kelly, Martina or Sharron are actually transphobic.

RM has no idea how much Kelly Holmes and Sharron Davies are loved and respected in this country. It just shows the utter arrogance and bullying of RM.
And if Specialized pull out their sponsorship if Kelly, I've send all my bike saddles back to them and never by their products again.

I’ve been in somewhat of a battle about gender issues with a specific colleague for a while now. Just had a phone call from him, which opened “sorry to disturb your mat leave, I think a cyclist on R4 peak transed me this morning”.

They use TERF blocker, I was blocked after three days on Twitter and 0 interaction with them.

Do you think as a Canadian RM doesn't realise how famous /loved these UK sportswomen are?

Or do they know and they don't care?

Maybe they've never followed women's sport much? I could well believe it.

I'm still not sure she knew who martina was when she laid into her, maybe had heard of her but not aware of her massive superstar status and long standing lgb activism, role model to lesbians when few were out in public who were famous etc etc
