Tavistock’s Experimentation with Puberty Blockers: Scrutinizing the Evidence

www.transgendertrend.com/tavistock-experiment-puberty-blockers/

"To summarize, GIDS launched a study to administer experimental drugs to children suffering from gender dysphoria. Between 2010 and 2014, puberty blockers were given to 50 children. This study yielded only one published scientific article on outcomes. It showed no evidence for the effectiveness of GnRHa: there was no statistically significant difference in psychosocial functioning between the group given blockers and the group given only psychological support. In addition, there is unpublished evidence that after a year on GnRHa children reported greater self-harm, and that girls experienced more behavioural and emotional problems and expressed greater dissatisfaction with their body—so puberty blockers exacerbated gender dysphoria. Yet the study has been used to justify rolling out this drug regime to several hundred children aged under 16. Almost five years after the last patient was enrolled in the experiment, there is no evidence to substantiate Carmichael’s claim ‘that the results thus far have been positive’."

This thread...amazing work and so much food for thought

this thread has opened my eyes (again)

there are people out there who get something (enjoyment satisfaction validation?) out of making others believe things about themselves that aren't true (as in the satanic ritual abuse panic).

this is something I had not previously thought about

hoodathunkit · 09/03/2019 17:41

On a tangent

This is not just about living in a time when healthcare policy regarding children is being subject to control by activist groups.

Exactly the same thing is happening to adults with serious mental illnesses. Of course it is important to "empower" vulnerable individuals, whether children or vulnerable adults. It is always important to listen to what they have to say and to bear their choices in mind when creating policy.

The problem is that for decades (possibly longer) minority groups and various campaigning and activist groups have been bankrolled and influenced by outside actors. This phenomena has intensified with the advent of the Internet.

Sometimes genuine activist groups have been hijacked, I think that this was the usual way of doing things, but with the advent of the Internet certain actors have also created fake grassroots organisations in the virtual world, including on facebook and other social networking websites and have used these groups to influence policy.

One extremely easy way of harvesting contact details and compromising the lives of all kinds of political and minority activists has been via organising petitions and harvesting emails and telephone numbers.

Something that may appear to be an opportunity to help women or children or oppressed minority groups or even animals can be an initial point of contact with something quite sinister.

We all need to be careful about this.

We also need to be aware of the ways in which the movements for lesbian and gay rights have been appropriated, also the goddess spirituality movement and various apparently spiritual movements that claim to promote women's empowerment have in fact been appropriated and perverted into sinister machine that abuses and exploits children and vulnerable adults in terrible ways.

The TRA movement is just one aspect of this new are of manipulation, fake news and astroturfing.

One thing that we must be extremely cautious about IMO to to not fall into reactive, hostile dynamics with other oppressed groups. We must avoid witch hunts and black and white thinking. Staying thinking is difficult when you are expected to believe that a fish is a bird and a carrot is an apple.

This is, to some extent, an organised attack on thinking. Language is policed and dissent and sceptical, rational thought cannot be permitted.

This is exactly what the actors controlling these issues want to happen.

This video of the Asch conformity experiment is highly relevant to this discussion

Hrtft but BLOODY HELL:
Transvestism is seen as more common amongst men but women wear trousers so often it is hard to tell if a woman is in fact a transvestite
Shock

From the old Mermaids site:
Gender Identity Disorders in infancy, childhood and adolescence are complex and have varied causes: in the majority of cases the eventual outcome will be homosexuality or bisexuality, but often there will be a heterosexual outcome as some gender issues can be caused by a bereavement, a dysfunctional family life, or (rarely) by abuse. Only a small proportion of cases will result in a transsexual outcome.

please never forget: a gender variant child or teenager will not necessarily grow up to be a transgendered adult.

These pages are from 2000. I understood that it was under Susie Green that the big push for children to be recognised as transgender happened. When did she take over?

DoctoressPlague · 09/03/2019 22:53

That's interesting OldCrone.
Three years ago apparently, but she has been involved in Mermaids for much longer than that.

Susie Green's child would have been 6 in 2000.

Just saying.

Still fancy a boob job? Beware of hard-sell tactics... and no mention of implant-related cancer: Mail on Sunday reporter who went undercover to test the ethics of Britain's breast surgeons delivers her damning verdict

Not trans. But interesting to see the hard sell and lack of transparency here.

I take it schools are informing children of this when they are supporting transitioning and Mermaids are also upfront about this.

Gender Identity Disorders in infancy.....

WTAF? This is insane.

hoodathunkit · 10/03/2019 08:30

This post is for anyone working at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust who has been feeling pressurised into conformity over issues relating to experiments on transgender children, claims of satanic ritual abuse or any other concerns.

You are not alone.

History is being made. Now is the time to step up to the plate and make your voice heard.

I would like to remind you about the Milgram experiment, an experiment that will be well known to all of you.

I would like to invite you to watch this archival video

Watching it will be a return to the early days of your training in psychology and mental health issues, but it is very important to revisit the basics from time to time.

As history is being made, what kind of "teacher" are you?

Are you one of those who stand up for your concerns for others and refuse to continue with the experiment or are you one of those who continue to conform and to do what you are told even if it harms others?

Take your time to reflect upon your concerns. Ask yourself "what kind of person am I?". Do the right thing. Make your concerns heard. Ensure that, as history is being made, you step up and do the right thing.

'Trans stories need to be told'

I'm posting this here simply because I repeatedly feel the end point is being sold but not the true story, warts and all.

This isn't always a fairy tale where people live happily ever after.

Tell those stories among adults. Tackle the restrictive stereotypes for children. Support mental health constantly.

Hippocratic Oath or Hypocritical Oath?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/03/2019 09:06

no sign of the Times article this weekend

could they be subject to an injunction?

RedToothBrush · 10/03/2019 09:10

Possible. Or possible they are waiting for something more. There's been a sense of something bigger brewing for a while. Or they sitting on the story for maximum impact given there's quite a lot of news this week...

There was a Grey-Thompson article today.

Lumene · 10/03/2019 16:03

Or may be because Telegraph already covered it, so no longer a ‘new’ story for the Sunday’s.

Melroses · 11/03/2019 10:06

This weeks news is bogged down with the upcoming Brexit votes. Maybe they are getting ducks in a row, or ferreting further.

MhairiV · 11/03/2019 14:14

I saw this thread on Twitter and wanted to share - this seemed like the most appropriate thread given the topic. I feel ill.

MhairiV

'Penis packers' for three and four-year-olds have been the subject of threads before. It's absolutely abhorrent.

And they look like mini versions of male penises.

A lot of them are made by the same companys who make prepubescent sex dolls, (often only the torso).

It really does feel as though Pandoras box has been opened, and there is no one in authority who can close the lid.

I personally don't understand how these companies can't just be shut down.

sackrifice · 11/03/2019 16:29

I got a post deleted yesterday posting the same.

I've asked how it breaks talk guidelines but I don't think I've had it clarified yet.
