Blimey! Sharron is one amazing lady

noraclavicle · 06/03/2019 21:30

McKinnon is a joke.

Defenestrator · 06/03/2019 21:30

I think I have a girl crush.

Of course she's got broad shoulders you morons - she's a swimmer!

Vixxxy · 06/03/2019 21:45

Now Joss Prior is weighing in. I don't even understand what that is meant to mean.

Sharon Davies should stfu about males competing with females being unfair, because apparently she looks trans. Even though talking about how male/female someone looks is apparently a huge nono (and I am genuinely not seeing how Sharon looks male, at all?!). We are to believe Joss and Rachel 'pass' for female better than Sharon does. Delusional fuckwits.

Datun · 06/03/2019 22:32

I try to be feminist about it and not get too hung up on looks, etc, but damn, I'd give my right arm for that body.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/03/2019 22:34

Id give your right arm for that body too datun

Datun · 06/03/2019 22:35

🤣

TinselAngel · 06/03/2019 22:36

If you train for about 25 years, you could!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/03/2019 22:36

I'll be 75 tinsel

Its not gonna look the same Sad

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/03/2019 22:38

No offence datun

Its just I'm quite attached to my arm

Less so to yours Grin

Provincialbelle · 06/03/2019 22:42

Message from Sharron’s 20 year old daughter: twitter.com/graciedredmond/status/1103314168860631041?s=21

Datun · 06/03/2019 22:43

Less so to yours

It's fairly competent, even if I do say so myself.

Maybe a finger. Or a toe.

TinselAngel · 06/03/2019 22:43

God Rufus, steal some plutonium from some Libyans, invent the flux capacitor and get it sorted.

Datun · 06/03/2019 22:45

It's commendable that she's attempting to defuse and keep it cool, Trig.

But it won't work.

Datun · 06/03/2019 22:45

Sharron's daughter, not Rufus.

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 06/03/2019 22:50

I'm quite happy with my squishy, squashy bod. Because my body, like Sharron's, has served me well to achieve things, despite the disadvantages we've both laboured under. I am extremely grateful that we've both been able use our brains and voices to speak up for other women, just like so many other women, known or unknown.

Because that's how I know my daughters will thrive, and how I have hope that other women and girls will thrive too - women in all sorts of shapes, sizes and interests who are willing to speak up for each other in the face of self-absorbed men who live in a fantasy world and would strip women of their rights and protections.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/03/2019 22:58

tinsel

Fair point, complete lack of effort on my part there

Im a bit scared to google plutonium stockists...is libya still the best place?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 06/03/2019 22:59

Nope we're ok

Apparently we have tons of unradiated plutonium in the uk

That does not sound safe at all...

pombear · 06/03/2019 23:14

Thing is, most of us women who are women (no qualifier needed here), who are of a certain age, have come through the slings and arrows insults stage, and lots of us, no matter how we 'present', would tolerate a 'you look like a man' insult pretty sturdily.

It's interesting, isn't it, that males (usually in their 30s/40s/50s who are presenting/identifying/believing they are women) are the ones who think slinging such an insult will touch the sides.

I call projection. Because it would hurt them to have the trans/male thing slung at them.

They just don't get it.

Oooh, you look a bit like a man.

Er, OK, whatever, I know who I am. Whatever! Any-hoo, about this female single sex spaces, sports, prisons thing...

Meanwhile, in gender-fluid world, what indeed looks 'like a man' or 'trans? (Are they saying 'trans' is hinting at 'male-bodied'?!) Cos, surely, none of us know what a 'man' and a 'woman' is, what with all this sciencey stuff telling us it's not a thing anymore? Just your feelz.

pombear · 06/03/2019 23:15

(I think they could be challenged as being a little transphobic there!)

pombear · 06/03/2019 23:17

In the meantime, imagines a struggle between Rufus and Datun in the arm wars. Keep your body parts women!

Like with the Pugilators (giant cotton buds) on Gladiators.

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 06/03/2019 23:23

Libyans are easy to defeat if you nick their plutonium, too. Just get them to drive into a little photo developing booth in a camper van and you're golden.

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 06/03/2019 23:33

The 'You look like a man' thing is so bloody weird. It gets thrown at the Williams sisters too. I've been told I 'walk like a bloke' before now. It's a fascinating insult from people who think they are breaking gender binaries - they think that when we tell men they look like men, we are doing it as a value judgement, as an insult, when it's just a recognition of reality. So their response is to hurl wounded insults based entirely on their projected insecurity.

Seriously, why would it wound me to tell me I 'look like a man' if you reject a gender binary? Why would it be relevant? This isn't about appearance, or clothing, or identity - it's about empirical fact. Sharron Davies clearly doesn't look like a man. But even if she did, she isn't a man so it doesn't affect anything at all.
