Fair play for women have developed a new leaflets regarding women's sports. We should all now share widely with anybody we know in any kind of sporting capacity so that we can get everybody talking about this if possible.

The time to speak is now and as we've seen from Public reaction to the Sporting issue public opinion is overwhelmingly in favour of keeping women sport for biological females only.

Fantastic! We need to move away from centring this all around testosterone.

NeurotrashWarrior · 01/03/2019 13:33

We are the class of low testosterone havers according to the way sport is going.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 01/03/2019 13:33

I think the sports issue is very clear and we need to really get people talking about this as it isn't even particularly contentious. Everybody who lives in the real world knows that male and female bodies are completely different.

Absolutely, I feel this the the only thing I can openly talk about.

AbsintheFriends · 01/03/2019 13:35

Dame Kelly Holmes tweeting her support.

Nice work Sharron Davies, and FPFW.

ValWiggin · 01/03/2019 13:39

That's an excellent leaflet. Good to see it being shared.

Datun · 01/03/2019 13:49

Wow, Nic Williams. That's a fantastic leaflet.

Callmejudith · 01/03/2019 13:56

I think it's v v telling who she has tagged in the tweet too.

MhairiV · 01/03/2019 14:01

Goodness. Today feels like a good day. Strength in numbers.

We need a bit of a He for She on this (and on everything else) - time for some high profile male sports people to step up. Fingers crossed.

Dame Kelly's response:

I hope they also remember the importance of youth pathways. You only need a couple of 14 year old trans girl butterfly swimmers in Surrey, or hockey goalkeepers, or hurdlers and the rest are left without a chance to access the training they would need to become future England athletes.

It has already happened in Connecticut.

QuietContraryMary · 01/03/2019 14:19

That's a good leaflet, except:

Laurel Hubbard also won an actual (not masters, full-on world) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP silver medal. And Laurel Hubbard is 40 or 41 years old.

The 21 year old I think is Cece Telfer? Should be named.

Miller & Yearwood won the GIRL'S (not women's) sprint, and it wasn't technically the second year running. Yearwood came 2nd in the 2018 state INDOOR (to a girl), Miller wasn't competing (AIR was still competing as a boy in the indoor season, but do factcheck on that). Yearwood & Miller won the 2018 state OUTDOOR sprint and have now also won the 2019 state INDOOR. Outdoor won't be till the summer, fairly obviously.

Tiffany Abreu is 34 (since October), not 33. And competed for years with males at a low level, now is an elite female.

Tamikka Brents name is not 'Tammika'.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 01/03/2019 14:45

Unashamedly pro-women.

Good for her.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 01/03/2019 14:55

Brilliant leaflet

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/03/2019 16:04

I see our favourite cyclist tried to make it all about them... Self referencing us really poor show

As enny akademik duz noe

LatinforTelly · 01/03/2019 16:15

Can anyone tag in male sports slebs on twitter, even if they are a twitter 'nobody' (I am). Is it considered bad form/spamming? I think Michael Conroy has tagged in Lineker but I can think of quite a few male athletes who could be tagged in. Why doesn't someone semi-well-known do it?

Callmejudith · 01/03/2019 16:39

Karen Pickering has spoken up

Sally gunnell! GET IN 💪

This is so encouraging. I did wonder if they'd gone a step too far when they came for Martina. MARTINA BLIMMIN NAVRATILOVA. On what planet does that seem like a good idea? Own goal. Hopefully.

Courday · 01/03/2019 19:52

This is ace. The more speak out the easier it will be for them all.

Courday · 01/03/2019 19:55

"This is so encouraging. I did wonder if they'd gone a step too far when they came for Martina. MARTINA BLIMMIN NAVRATILOVA. On what planet does that seem like a good idea? Own goal. Hopefully."

Exactly. McKinnxon should have bent over backwards and done/said anything to get Martina onside. Instead they went on the attack.
Martina is big news in the sports community and must have a massive network of influential friends.
The worst own goal in history :)

Needmoresleep · 01/03/2019 20:04

Brilliant.

Unless the BBC is prepared to accept that it is not homophobic to believe that womens sport should be restricted to non drug taking XX chromsome people, they wont have any high profile women commentators for next years Olympics.

How about some support from their male colleagues?!

BelladonnaSolanum · 01/03/2019 20:05

I was never a sporty child, but growing up even I was in awe of these incredible women

OvaHere · 01/03/2019 20:06

From the tweet posted by Callmejudith

Many trans kids don't participate in sport due to prejudice

Well no female kids anywhere will be bothering soon due to the fact it will be pointless and potentially dangerous. Guess they don't give a shit about them though.
