Does anyone know if this is really true? Apparently TRAs have targeted the bank & complained about them letting FPFW bank with them... so are considering closing their account.

Natwest need to think about this carefully!

Wasn't this a long time ago?

HermioneWeasley · 09/02/2019 14:31

NatWest have said they are “taking it forward”, which could mean many things. If you’re on twitter get on there and give them some pressure

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 14:41

Where have you seen this?

Hamster00 · 09/02/2019 14:45

Here I think .. twitter.com/G1rl_From_Mars/status/1094023318460600320

Mumfun · 09/02/2019 14:51

most GC cant see that status - could you copy please?

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 14:52

I’d like to thank you for that link Hamster but unfortunately I ended up clicking on the profile of one of the TRAs commenting on there, and it was not a pretty sight. I wished I hadn’t asked!

This will blow up in NatWest’s face if they bow down to TRA demands. The can see from the comments under the Tweets how this will get written up in the press - “NatWest bans women from having their own bank accounts on random misogynist’s demand”. The Times will have a field day

Look at how much legislation has already been bent against women thus far. It is totally possible, sadly.

FlyingOink · 09/02/2019 16:02

There have been a number of occasions where this has been used to target organisations. The previous occasions have been right wing groups. But the pile-ons can be used against anyone.
PayPal, gofundme, etc are also all susceptible.
It's a real problem.

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 16:04

It didn’t go too well for Ocado, did it? NatWest should take note.

FlyingOink · 09/02/2019 16:08

Yeah, banks are stupid to pander to any political pressures in terms of who they offer retail banking accounts to.
It's very easy to swap current account providers, and the pissed off ex-customers are not replaced 1:1 by supporters.

FlyingOink · 09/02/2019 16:10

I wonder if anyone actually signed up to Ocado as a direct result of them pressuring Primesight?
I doubt it.
Get woke, go broke.

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 16:12

Get woke, go broke.

😂😂 Great slogan!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/02/2019 16:14

I like the idea that Nat West should look more closely into where the money is coming from.
The TRAs just will not believe it's crowd funded, despite all the evidence.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 09/02/2019 16:18

I am blocked from seeing that link 🙄 can you link from the NatWest account?

TopBitchoftheWitches · 09/02/2019 16:19

If that is possible, I should add.

loveyouradvice · 09/02/2019 16:30

Natwest lots of us have banked with you for eons.... and yes we are women and we are feminist and we support FairPlay for Women. The title says it all - that is what it is.

ANd I for one promise you a field day regarding negative media coverage if you close this account

Trousering · 09/02/2019 17:00

I also clicked onto the profile of the compliner to Nat West.

Trousering · 09/02/2019 17:01

Complainer. Woops. Bizzare that we are the offensive ones and yet this weirdo has pictures of their arse end on display for all to see.

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 17:20

I’ve just made a donation to FPFW, which is something I said a while back I would do each time they were targeted in this way. So well done, TRA loon, for raising money for them!

GCAcademic · 09/02/2019 17:22

Do you mind, Trousering - I was trying to forget about that! Envy - not envy

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/02/2019 17:27

Who runs company twitter accounts?

Well I do know since I do. People tweet all kinds of crap and I choose not to engage just because some crackpot makes a wild accusation.

Why do so many big companies (so you would assume they have professionals working for them) ask ‘how high’ when a trans activist wails ‘jump!’?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 09/02/2019 17:27

I've also made a donation.
All hail our leader!

Lifeinthelastlane · 09/02/2019 17:29

Where do they think the funds are coming from? I’m rather suspecting it’s from the wages of middle aged women like me Confused
