"My vagina looked SO bad that my mom, sister, and the surgeons wouldn't even let me look at it. Eventually, I used a compact mirror to get a peak and all I could do was laugh. If only you guys knew.."

twitter.com/JazzJennings__/status/1092971983996895232

"In life, everything is about attitude & perspective. Even though my vagina falling apart was the hardest thing I ever experienced, I knew that one day I would be fully healed & recovered. I had to adopt the mindset of my future self & know in my heart that everything would be ok."

twitter.com/JazzJennings__/status/1092969159753850881

"I'm glad that this rare complication happened to me rather than to another trans individual. With the love & support of my family, it makes it easier for me to conquer a challenge like this. I can't imagine how devasting it would be for someone without that support system."

Jazz is talking about the multiple surgeries caused in large part because of the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.

The 'devastating' effects are what Mermaids are campaigning for for thousands of UK children.

Sad

Without going into detail, online links suggest that Amir is a vulnerable adult too.

Oh dear God. This just gets sicker.

Lamaha · 21/02/2019 11:35

Ahmir is a paid extra obviously

Yes it is obviously staged.

Iused2BanOptimist · 21/02/2019 11:41

WHY do we know this stuff about this young person? This is abusive.

Ditto the Susie G and the infamous clip of her laughing because her son didn't have enough penis to make a vagina.

Who would do that? Laugh at such an appalling outcome and let it be on TV /internet for all the world to see.

Leave aside the surgery etc but if I publicly discussed something intimate regarding my DD's like that I think they would cut me off for ever.

Oldermum156 · 21/02/2019 16:04

I've heard about trans surgery disasters before. Where do you go from there?

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 21/02/2019 17:23

To be fair to Ahmir, it is unlikely he fully understands that Jazz has no sexual function. It is not uncommon for... I was going to say youngsters, but actually, anybody who has not thought critically or researched, to assume that sex would work the same, post op. It is a common misconception that people have actually had a sex change.

Jazz themselves has in a round about way said that they may “discover” some sexuality by having sexual encounters. Ahmir may believe this to be true.

There’s something about Jazz’ almost pathological need to discuss intimate aspects of their life that is disturbing me. I can’t fully recall it but I’m sure I heard a talk by a psychologist who was detailing certain types of personality disorders and an inability to recognize when sharing personal information that can leave you vulnerable, was a significant trait. There was also something about faux intimacy - sharing lots of intimate info, quickly in a relationship can “trick” others into thinking you have a deeper connection than you actually do and that some self editing and circumspection is healthy. Can’t recall it properly though.

So sad to see this story.
This young boy has been abused by his parents. His body mutilated, his fertility taken away.
A life of ill health ahead, short life expectancy.
Sad that "medical professionals" have allowed this. Biological sex change is impossible. The child had anxieties, he was NOT born in wrong body, NO human is.
Any endocrinologist would warn against cross sex hormones on any human.
I am intersex, and have lived as both, having had complex medical issues since age of 9. I would be thankful to have had a healthy body of male or female at his age, - he has been deluded to believe he could follow a fantasy.
I hope he finds a solution, I hope his parents are sued for the damage they have done, and I hope the Media is punished -
In years to come they will wonder what on earth they were doing. He has not got a vagina, he remains a biological male who has be castrated and is full of estrogen. A eunuch -
Surely a warning to society, parents and schools.
BIOLOGICAL SEX CHANGE IS IMPOSSIBLE.
no one is born in wrong body, we all learn to accept our own biology.

please protect vulnerable youngsters from this mad craze.

I know many here are very critical of the parents, but in a way they were let down, too. They were put into a ‚boiling frog‘ situation by what they considered professionals. If your kid struggles that way and professionals tell you ‚let them socially transition, what’s the harm... give them some extra time by pausing puberty, what‘s the harm...‘ I can see why they went along with what made the kid happy at the moment. Could anyone of the professionals have been arsed to give a full picture (stunted genital growth, potentially depriving of orgasms and making SRS super-risky and complex to near impossible, oh and hey, going down that Route doesn‘t mean the kid will escape depression as a teen), who knows how they would have chosen. (Submitting themselves to extra pressure to stay on course by making reality tv of it, betrayed a severe lack of judgement, though, granted. Maybe they hoped to secure state of the art healthcare for Jazz that way, idk).
Anyway, I think the parents were let down, too.

Voice0fReason · 22/02/2019 22:06

Anyway, I think the parents were let down, too.
The parents made the choice to turn their child's life into a television show sharing intimate details of Jazz's life with the world.
Yes, they were let down by the professionals but much of the pressure was of their own making. They never put their child's wellbeing first. They never protected their child.

RockyFlintstone · 22/02/2019 22:24

I do agree that the parents were put into a boiling frog situation, probably including the TV show. I do also think that they have totally failed Jazz, but I think they were probably pushed into it all as well, and then the money starts rolling in, and then they get to a point where there is no going back for anyone.

It's a horrible situation to be honest.

In all of the clips I have seen, poor Jazz's grandad just constantly looks like 'WTF is happening here' but obviously that is just put down to him being an old codger who doesn't understand the modern way. Poor bloke.

HawayMan · 22/02/2019 22:56

I'm as gender critical as they come, but I hope that Jazz never hits peak-trans. I hope they can live their life without ever realizing what was done to them in the name of entertainment. Sad

deepwatersolo · 23/02/2019 20:34

I agree HawayMan. Humans generally do have a bias to consider their choices the right ones in hindsight - and I think it serves our mental health. So I do hope Jazz will always feel, it was the path meant for her. Even though from the outside it looks like Jazz was never given an informed choice, resulting in objective harm to Jazz.

Thingybob · 23/02/2019 21:10

I wish Jazz all the best but according to her Twitter feed things are still not great after her major surgery and she will be having more surgery shortly, so three operations in total. Will she ever get the result that she had hoped for and will the reality of being a 'woman' live up to her expectations? I fear not so think she may eventually be forced to look critically at the choices that were made for her.

AnotherBewilderedQuoll · 24/02/2019 04:37

So now I can't even see why trans activists are all for for putting kids on puberty blockers. I thought the idea was to prevent the child from going through natural puberty, in order to stop them developing the secondary characteristics of their own sex. Basically, to help boys who've been categorised as trans 'girls' look less male than they otherwise would have, and girls to look less female. But the two most prominent trans kids I know of, both male, have still grown up to have typically male height, broad shoulders, boxy torso, masc skull and jaw, and despite filters, makeup and myspace angles, are recognisably male.
Only, both of them then had difficulties with the genital modification surgery, because blocking puberty meant their penises remained undeveloped and the size of an eight year old's, so not enough for a standard penile inversion.
So, after all that, what actually is the point of those puberty blockers?

NotANotMan · 24/02/2019 08:29

Who is the other trans YP?

NotANotMan · 24/02/2019 08:31

I mean, Jazz clearly looks female IMO, you wouldn't know Jazz was male if it wasn't known. Jazz has hips and breasts.

howmanybiscuits · 24/02/2019 08:59

Jazz's face is obviously male.

NotANotMan · 24/02/2019 09:04

Maybe. But plenty of women have strong features and if we didn't know Jazz was male I think Jazz could pass

hipsterfun · 24/02/2019 10:33

It’s interesting to consider ease of passing in context. We’re at a point where natal females have dialled the performance of femininity up to 11 visually (brows and lashes, heavy cosmetics generally, as standard, fashion) and probably behaviourally (‘girl squad’ is more myth than reality, but there seems a lot of buy-in to similar).

Strip all this away and, even for the most ‘successful’ TW, passing would be much trickier.

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 25/02/2019 10:12

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but make up trends are now "full drag" even for daywear. It does make it harder to distinguish what sex people are when everybody looks like Chi Chi Von Thundercunt, although I'm not suggesting this is deliberate... or am I?

I think Jazz looks like their mum. The problem with knowing someone is the opposite sex to the one they are presenting as, is that consciously or not, you will identify the features that are "anomalous". I think Jazz passes well enough that if you didn't know they were a natal male, you wouldn't guess but they are in a very small minority.

RockyFlintstone · 25/02/2019 10:21

I think Jazz 'passes' in that if you didn't know Jazz was trans, you might think that Jazz was a 'strong featured woman'. But watching the clips, it really is obvious to me that Jazz is male, but of course my own bias is creeping in there. But all that that is without Jazz going through puberty. I'm sure facial feminisation surgery is next though.

I'm another who feels that, whilst I really want the whole house of cards to come crashing down ASAP, I actually really hope that Jazz never ends up regretting what has happened to them, because being in that position is pretty much unthinkable, it would be so horrific.

BettyDuMonde · 25/02/2019 10:23

Jazz can never be ‘stealth’ because Jazz’s mum had Jazz’s transition televised.

Thus, any real-or-perceived benefits of passing due to puberty blockers or cross sex hormones have been completely negated.

OvaHere · 25/02/2019 10:27

I read elsewhere that there is a no make up/bare faced trend building. I don't know how true this is because I'm a relative oldie now but it makes sense because no trend lasts forever and these things come in cycles.

Apparently this has some people quite cross because Kardashian type make up is essential to them for any vague notion of passing. Young women ditching all that will make obvious differences all the more stark in many cases.

RockyFlintstone · 25/02/2019 10:30

Well yes, Jazz is famous, so everyone knows Jazz is trans anyway, so the passing thing is irrelevant.

RockyFlintstone · 25/02/2019 10:31

Oh yes, 'glass skin' no make up looks are definitely becoming more trendy.
