What we did was amazing. We pulled the GUardian, Parliament, the House of Lords, the media, out of a position they were determined to have, we changed the debate, we showed women were a political force, we acted, all over the country we acted. In different ways. We were bound by the GRA review and as soon as that was done it was evident that power relations had recreated within a social movement. Yes some people by reflex did things that they would always have done. Now we get to relearn and renegotiate power relations by saying we dont play the way media tribalists did. Whatever fall outs there have been were always going to hapen but we still did that. Thats why htis board is permanently monitored by nutcases and acually the power we demonstrated is directly at the root of the toxic fallouts and is a mark of success in itself. Political spectrum reforming within this movement is alright, but it probably pays to remember how amazing what we achieved was and letting that guide what we can achieve., We changed the conversation we can keep doing that. Easily. By having the conversation we want and not bowing to social media tribalism that hides all sorts of nasties and existing political orgs. And learning in a way they cant.

I don't have balls. I am not interested in your obsession. In fact, I am not interested in you. What you have done on this thread is show how unpleasant you are.

It doesn't seem to be working though, this thread, along with the first page of this thread is getting bumped each and every time.
People tend to read the first page and skip the rest.

exLtEveDallas · 29/01/2019 14:34

That would make me the definition of a fool

Well if the cap fits...

Jane Fae was disappointed by Sappho:

Can't please everyone. Grin

Bubonicpanic · 29/01/2019 14:35

Sickos? Really. I am a sicko for being shocked by Lisa's nastiness to Karen, Joanie, Posie and the rest?

I am "obsessive and bullying" for reading her own words back to her and then being called a narc and delusional by her? They are all there in the public domain so it's not a delusion. It's the brilliant work you are celebrating. What is fascinating is how much you are defending this obsessive bully.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 29/01/2019 14:35

So is this brilliant work to be proud of and congratulated over or not?

You are a grotesque parody of a human being and not fit to approach any of the women your obscene disgusting vanity has harmed in the last eight years. A cruel, sadistic, hollow shell of a woman.

Dragon3 · 29/01/2019 14:37

Your points are noted Geeewhizz. Still a 'meh' from me. Followed closely by 'I can see why people steer clear of Twitter'.

I hope that MN lets your contributions to this thread stand. They have been quite enlightening. Perhaps not in the way that you intended.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/01/2019 14:37

Jane Fae was disappointed by Sappho

Oh, the layers in that comment.

You'd think Jane would be used to it by now.

PurpleCrowbar · 29/01/2019 14:40

Honestly, it doesn't matter HOW often you lads post bits of 'she said ah but SHE said' you've dredged up from two people having a bit of a barney.

The rest of us don't have to take sides, or even an interest.

Anyway - yes indeed OP. It's all brilliant Smile

littlbrowndog · 29/01/2019 14:40

Haha kittens.
I actually laughed out loud

Politelygiveszerofucks · 29/01/2019 14:44

Lisa made a video in which she identified a woman as supposedly being raped by her husband.

Whoever you believe in yet another personal feud, there can be no justification for that act.

Anyone who says they don’t care that a woman, a mother of young children like Lisa was ‘outed’ either as making false rape accusations towards their husband or as a victim of rape, without a shred of evidence, needs to give back their feminist badge.

Good women don’t do that to one another.

Bubonicpanic · 29/01/2019 14:46

Honestly, it doesn't matter HOW often you lads post bits of 'she said ah but SHE said' you've dredged up from two people having a bit of a barney.

That really is rather shitty minimising of a very nasty attack.

littlbrowndog · 29/01/2019 14:47

I always rember Jane with the guy on the telly who was wanting to self identify his age
Was it a German guy ?
Was almost as good as the nus conference where they all got stuck in the toilets and were tweeting for fags and pizza

'Jane Fae, a Letchworth-based campaigner for LGBT and women’s rights, ' - what? Since when has Fae been a campaigner for women's rights? Giving them away, maybe.

R0wantrees · 29/01/2019 14:52

From the Comet article linked previously
(extract)
"A spokeswoman for ReSisters United said: “The factual definition of woman has become taboo. With this action we send the message that women have the right to speak about our biology without shame, fear or retribution.”

A Herts Women Stand Up spokeswoman added: “Biological sex matters and that feelings of gender should not take precedence when it comes to maintaining and upholding the rights and dignity of women. The group is committed to lobbying for the right to single sex spaces.

“The statue of Sappho is Letchworth is particularly significant because Sappho, an ancient greek poet whose work celebrated love between women, is an icon both of lesbian and gay liberation, and of women’s rights. The trend towards claiming that men can be women undermines the right of lesbian women to self-define and declare sexual boundaries.”

Jane Fae, a Letchworth-based campaigner for LGBT and women’s rights, expressed her disappointment at this campaign.

She said: “While they hide behind the language of feminism, they are anything but. This campaign has been designed, from the outset, to strip the rights of trans and LGBT individuals.

“It’s originator was last week ‘helping police with their enquiries’ in respect of alleged harrassment and is this week in the United States discussing tactics with some of the most extreme anti-feminist, anti-LGBT elements now active in US politics.

“These are the people behind US President Donald Trump’s ban on trans people serving in the military. The same people who have recently been suggesting to Trump that the ban on active service now be extended to women.

“The T-shirts are part of a campaign to create a hostile public environment for trans folk and, as far as I am aware, not a penny of the money raised from their sale will go to a women’s cause. Rather, it will go back to the campaign organiser.

A spokesperson for Herts Women Stand Up responded to Jane’s comments and said: “The campaign is not seeking to ‘strip rights’ of trans and LGBT people, nor to ban trans people from the military. It does it have any connection to Donald Trump nor is it a plan to make fortune out of selling t-shirts.

“The campaign has been coordinated by collective of grassroots feminist groups in the UK and Ireland to protest against erasure of female as a distinct sex class and the need to protect single sex spaces. The t-shirts were donated by the campaign Standing For Women.” (continues)

Interesting to see Jane Fae's credited photograph of a 'banner nearby' Hmm

The interview with Fae and the the transaged Dutchman was glorious, watching Fae wanting to badly to point out how bloody silly the whole thing was and then realizing that if Fae did that then viewers might take the obvious next mental step.

Melroses · 29/01/2019 14:53

Since when has Fae been a campaigner for women's rights? Giving them away, maybe.

It gets a bit surreal at times.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 29/01/2019 14:54

Unless knitting is considered as women's rights.

MsMcWoodle · 29/01/2019 14:56

How many lies did Fae manage to slip into that interview?

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2019 14:56

Unless knitting is considered as women's rights.

One of my grandfathers was a prize winning knitter.

geeewhizz · 29/01/2019 14:56

The minimising and normalising of the most heinous and dangerous attacks on women with absolutely no regard for safeguarding has now been exposed along with stunning levels of hypocrisy. Thank you, women of MN.

ToeToToe · 29/01/2019 14:59

geeewhizz does not like women saying NO to him.

MsMcWoodle · 29/01/2019 15:00

That was funny R0wan. Quite cheered me up.
