School girls gaslit en masse after encountering 'naked man' in swimming pool shower

www.kesq.com/news/female-water-polo-players-confronted-by-naked-man-at-palm-springs-swim-center/987276858

The girls found a naked man in the women's shower, which they objected to, describing him as a 'predator'.

The police investigated and said that actually, sorry girls, he's not a man, she's a woman, so STFU, basically.

eu.desertsun.com/story/news/2019/01/24/pool-getting-unisex-shower-formal-policy-after-teens-encounter-trans-woman/2670287002/

It does beg the question of what is the appropriate response when a girl finds a naked man in the changing room, as there doesn't seem to be any possible way to distinguish a 'naked man' from a 'transwoman', nor indeed whether it is safe to be around that person's penis (common sense and practice for basically the entire world's population except those gaslit by TRAs says 'no')

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2019!

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2019!
It's back because it's relevant again.

The first link has been archived <a class="break-all" href="https://web.archive.org/web/20190201093616/kesq.com/news/female-water-polo-players-confronted-by-naked-man-at-palm-springs-swim-center/987276858" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here. I think there was originally a video clip attached, but I don't think embedded stuff gets archived by default, so I can't see a way to watch that.

GreenAndPurplePeople · 18/09/2021 07:47

The original link no longer works, due to a website migration. I found this instead:

kesq.com/news/2019/01/30/girls-encounter-naked-man-at-palm-springs-swim-center/

Certainly has similarities with the Wi Spa instance.

OldCrone · 18/09/2021 07:50

This article mentions the Palm Springs incident (and a few other incidents) in which this individual has exposed himself to women and girls.

Lordamighty · 18/09/2021 07:51

@Driftingblue

It’s the NYPost, so grain of salt and all, but they are reporting that the suspect in the WiSpa incident is the same individual from this episode.
I’m just quoting this as it is relevant to the thread being active.
saleorbouy · 18/09/2021 08:00

Thus is the reality that a man who identifies as a woman has no discerning difference to a male identifing as a male when naked.
The identifying part is purely consists of the feminine clothing and accessories society asume make you female, the rest is in the mind.
Essentially Steve is still Steve and not Sandra unless they are dressed up as a woman.
This is the dilema in my mind that the majority of females could now be subjected to a mixed changing environment and rightly feel uncomfortable about this. Should they be subjected to this to accommodate and avoid offending a small minority of trans males?
Personally this does not sit well with me, women should not feel uncomfortable in their designated gender changing facilities. The situation is also wide open for abuse of voyeurs and sexual predators.

Helleofabore · 18/09/2021 08:18

Merager, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs around 200 pounds, says the women are mistaking a large appendage for an erection.

Envy not envy

This person is completely deranged.

EdgeOfACoin · 18/09/2021 08:30

If it is true that the penis-owner from the first incident is the same as the penis-owner from the WiSpa incident, this perfectly illustrates how it is almost impossible to determine whether a penis-owner has a womanly brain or malign intent.

I guess it just sucks for the women and girls who would prefer to change, shower and use a spa away from penis-owners altogether.

FrancescaContini · 18/09/2021 08:33

Fucking outrageous 🤬🤬

timeisnotaline · 18/09/2021 08:44

I have read the thread and I can’t see any connection at all between the wispa incident and the pool showers except for people suddenly started saying Id it’s the same person, is it in the deleted link at top? Or somewhere else?

It's in the ny post link I posted earlier this morning.

This is the one…

"Merager, a registered sex offender in California for two prior convictions of indecent exposure, identifies as a woman, but law enforcement sources said that’s a ruse to get into women’s-only areas."

But surely this never happens. And if it does, how do they know it's a ruse?

Confused
Manderleyagain · 18/09/2021 09:28

Thanks for posting the NYP article.
The press are really leaving this story for Andy Ngo to investigate on his own. The rest of the sis it wasn't happening and risk the integrity of journalism tbh.

From the pov of the girls at the swimming pool, their coach challenged the person so they were backed up at that moment. But then the police took no action against the person because they said they were transgender and were allowed to use the facilities they were most comfortable in.
This shows how the law in califirnia works in practice, and its disgusting. The law is where the problem lies. I assume the only reason the wispa incident resulted in an arrest warrant was because enough witnesses said the person was erect.

rosy71 · 18/09/2021 09:30

In my experience women do not tend to shower naked in communal showers or walk around naked in changing rooms. Anyone doing so would be viewed with suspicion.

TurquoiseBaubles · 18/09/2021 09:32

The last two lines of the NY post story:

“They’re having a tough time tracking me down. That’s good. They’ll find me when I turn myself in,” Merager said. Whenever that happens, Merager expects to be jailed in a women’s facility.

That's great then. Angry

Manderleyagain · 18/09/2021 09:32

Sally hines and other pro gender types on twitter have been defending this person saying the previous charges sound like sex work and cruising criminalised. They never believe the women do they? If Ngo's report is accurate then they are defendjn a serious sexual offender.

Really? In the female only gyms I have been in it was the norm to walk around naked for some, but showers did have curtains.
OldCrone · 18/09/2021 09:40

This individual is legally recognised as female in California, which has self-ID for 'gender'. This is where self-ID leads.

From the NY Post article:

“Even if I was the worst person in the world, you’re allowed to access the facility [of your gender],” Merager says, adding that she is legally female in California. The state’s civil rights law prohibits discrimination based on gender identity and gender expression. However, Merager says the law is insufficient because trans people could be criminalized on accusations of indecent exposure for being nude in changing areas or spas.

Exposing himself to teenage girls is 'sex work' and 'cruising'?

The final chapter to this, which I'm sure is why he was in talks with Senator Wiener, is likely to push for criminalising women and girls who dare to complain about naked men in their spaces.

"At what point can a parent start questioning safeguarding?
Given this is the US, at what point can a parent start suing?
There must be a tipping point or provision within legislation for this?"

Good points, all.
The fact that the man, if it is the same one, has now been charged for indecent exposure (or whatever the equivalent crime is called in the USA) shows that there IS a tipping point.
But in all honesty I don't think it will go far until someone's child is assaulted/ molested physically.

I saw something today from a FB group - a screen grab of a trans woman and a poledancing pole - his "gender euphoria" (ahem) is "x 10000" for being able to be in a class of women doing pole dancing.
Their joy at being in an all-female space is... concerning.

Just to get this straight, do you mean the tw had a erection?

Thelnebriati · 18/09/2021 10:34

But in all honesty I don't think it will go far until someone's child is assaulted/ molested physically.

But that has already happened in the UK.
It hasn't changed anything, which proves the rights and needs of women and girls don't count.
