Just listening to 5 Live Emma Barnett (just started at 10am) and in the next hour she will be interviewing Aimee Challenor.

Good luck to Emma! There are SO many questions I'd like to ask but I know AC wouldn't be brave enough to answer them.

AC very vague about choosing DC as election agent. Their perception is skewed because he was out on bail, they claim.

Wishes that there had been more oversight from the Green Party.

Emma Barnett is gaining a reputation for being a Rottweiler with Labour interviewees and a pussycat with everyone else.

AC now doing a "I was just so focused on the people of Coventry" and that's why they stood for election in the midst of their father being tried for being a child torturer and rapist.

DC is sent down, AC's mother informs AC, who then phones Green Party to inform them.

Had to turn phone off because being hounded etc. Put out a number of statements. AC steps aside from deputy leader race for the good of the party, which others apparently were surprised by.

It was a devastating time for AC, who just wanted to hide under a pillow.

DC put on strong medication when sent down. AC has cried to him. DC is constantly saying sorry, AC is battling internal conflict, because DC is still their dad, but he did awful things to the victim, took a sledgehammer to every thing AC had built and destroyed ACs mums life.

He's a child rapist and the interviewer is asking if his family are annoyed ???

AC says they did a lot of amazing things. Has agreed with Libdems to not stand for any positions for two years, so AC can heal and get training.

Has transatlantic partner and hints at leaving the country.

AC interrupts for a final word to say 'has learned'. We 'shouldn't forget there was a little girl who was absolutely hurt'.

"Annoyed" is for when your dad told the same joke he told last Xmas that nobody thought was funny then either, not for when dad has kidnapped, tortured, and raped a child.

Despite some token references to the victim, it's very clear that AC believes AC is really hard done by here, and needs to 'heal'.

I heard this interview and my overarching sense was of ‘poor me, I didn’t deserve to be treated like this’ with the requisite faux sad voice.

When the verdict first came in it was possible to view the Challenor family's personal FB pages and a group they'd set up to complain about social services (who had removed AC and siblings and placed them in care). This has all since been made private but screenshots exist and I saw plenty of the original sources myself.

AC was interviewed as a witness at the time of the arrest. FB posts make it clear she knew about it years ago, and knew who the victim was. The mother carried out a bit of a character assassination on the victim and insisted she was a liar. Deeply unpleasant stuff.

If you have a strong stomach you can see much of it on kiwifarms but it's a vile website and actually transphobic (as opposed to GC). The screenshots etc that are listed are all genuine though and very informative if you ignore the commentary given by the posters.

I remember her taking Rory Stewart to task when he invented a Brexit stat off the top of his head. She's pretty good normally.
