Sorry but "Creepy"? CREEPY?! What an odd choice of words. I'd say it's more creepy to be desperate to access to womens spaces but that's just me.

Does he not realise that this is about womens safety? These people are so clueless.

I got a telling off for posting this before but I don't care:

Another example of a man who claims to be trans in order to gain access to children: Stephonknee Wolnisch (not sure how the last name is spelt), who claims to be an eight year-old girl.

As an aside, Stefoknee identified as a 6 year old girl in December 2015. So does Stefonknee now identify as a 9 year old girl, or does Stefonknee identify perpetually as a 6 year old girl?

(And of course why is identifying as a 6-9 year old considered crazy, but not the girl part?)

Bah! That post auto-posted before I could complete it.

KatherinaMinola: If I'm going to use a resource like kiwifarms I want to be fully informed about it, warts and all.

OlennasWimple · 22/01/2019 10:50

MNers are probably also responsible for the repeated DDOS attacks that Kiwi Farms has suffered this week /s

The language allowed on Kiwi Farms is, well, no holds barred. Definitely transphobic, but also racist, misogynistic and homophobic. But fairly equal in their no shits given approach, some of the digging is pretty impressive and they call out creepy pervs like the tampon sniffer - paedophilia being a step to far for pretty much every poster (I can't say all, obviously)

Oh, and they tend to hate feminists too - which is why the occasional "MNers are in cahoots with KF" claims are pretty ridiculous - though I have seen KF links to FWR threads where the subject is of common interest

Definitely not a site to browse on a work computer

53rdWay · 22/01/2019 10:54

Kiwifarms is foul and I will not weep a single tear if it goes away, but I do find it interesting that people are angrier with Mumsnet for allowing links to it than they are with it itself.

Wonder why that could be? Wonder if it’s got anything in common with how Mumsnet gets pilloried by the TRAs for its foul transphobia, but not male-dominated forums which are a lot more hostile to the point of outright bigotry? It’s almoat as if... but no, ‘sex’ is an irrelevant colonialist nonsense, that definitely can’t be the difference...

KatherinaMinola · 22/01/2019 10:54

Thanks all. So like 4chan, basically. Yes, I'm always amazed at who radical feminists are supposedly in cahoots with.

AngryAttackKittens · 22/01/2019 10:55

Wait, I'm confused. The gamer in question is named in the Pink News article, so how exactly did MN doxx him?

AngryAttackKittens · 22/01/2019 10:57

Aside - "recognizing that biological sex exists in colonialist" is the biggest pile of Woke Racism I've ever seen.

People all over the world have always known that humans come in two sexes and you need one of each to make babies. This is not something that anyone anywhere needed European colonizers to point out to them.

nauticant · 22/01/2019 11:02

A good example of your point 53rdWay is www.datalounge.com/. A discussion forum from a gay and lesbian perspective that can be remarkably robust in its criticism of the gender identity ideology, often more so than MN.

But TRAs would much rather go after MN. It seems there's something about MN that means we're far worse.

deepwatersolo · 22/01/2019 11:18

Wait, I'm confused. The gamer in question is named in the Pink News article, so how exactly did MN doxx him?

Well, Angry, to point out the obvious: Words have lost their meanings. Consequently, doxxing (just like woman) can mean anything these days, and it always means what the wokes say it means in any given situation.

BettyDuMonde · 22/01/2019 11:23

What is up with male Guardian journos and their creepy, aggressive misogyny??

Fixed it!

OlennasWimple · 22/01/2019 12:58

Angry - the identity of the gamer is no secret at all - in those circles he seems to be pretty well known (and making a decent living from his YouTube videos). So I am struggling to see the problem, unless it is as simple as he has some skeletons in his closet that MNers dared to mention?

Well, you know us women, we just love cleaning and clearing out dearie, we will find those skeletons!

OlennasWimple · 22/01/2019 12:59

"Creepy" is also a word that LM uses a lot

Like when saying that MN are "creepy" for commenting on the incredibly ill-advised Twitter thread LM started where they were trying to see at what point Twitter decided their breasts were female breasts (therefore may not be shown) not male breast (which are A-OK on Twitter) Hmm

StrangeLookingParasite · 22/01/2019 14:59

Jesus wept, what a fuckstick.

I am a bit short on patience today; I'll probably get deleted.

"Mermaids recommended a doctor who has now been found guilty of running an illegal sex change clinic and prescribing cross-sex hormones to children who the nhs 'refused ' to 'treat' (why did the nhs refuse? did the nhs not think the child was trans?) as young as 12, which is against the law here"

-correction on "as young as 12, which is against the law here" don't know if this is actually against the law but

"According to NHS England guidance, cross-sex hormones can be prescribed from the age of 16, providing the patient has been on hormone-blocking medication for a year."

www.theguardian.com/society/2016/jul/11/transgender-nhs-doctor-prescribing-sex-hormones-children-uk

Another quote from that article:

"He would have to now wait until 16 to get testosterone. This child has always been a boy, never worn a dress, always played with boys. He was so ready... "

"Never worn a dress" - gosh. How can a doctor even say this...

The guardian claimed "said Webberley, whose practice does not breach any current guidelines or laws."

  • yes it did certainly breach guidelines and must have breached some laws, as she was found guilty of running the illegal clinic:

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/gp-guilty-of-running-illegal-sex-change-clinic-65xjzcdqr

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/gp-gave-child-12-sex-change-drug-qtbqqsthz

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-45767360

And Mermaids previously recommended and linked to this doctors clinic on their website.
They also campaign for lowering the ages of treatment.

And this is the case of the child the judge took from their mother's care because she was apparently trying to trans her child, who is now in their father's care and happy as the boy he was born as. The judge is reported to have said the child shouldn't be in contact with Mermaids. Mermaids complained about this article. Apparently the judge didn't make it an official court order to ban them from contact, he simply said it to the mother...? Can anyone clear this up?
