Sorry but "Creepy"? CREEPY?! What an odd choice of words. I'd say it's more creepy to be desperate to access to womens spaces but that's just me.

Does he not realise that this is about womens safety? These people are so clueless.

I've noticed that many on that side privilege lived experience so highly, they think that they personally havent experienced something, that experience (or knowledge or event) doesn't exist

Yeah it's all projection, something like over 80% of journalists went to Private School, he is probably one of those South Africans that grew up with legions of staff/maids.

It's always white men revelling in their ability to legitimately tell women we're complete fucking bitches. That's basically what they're saying. The trans movement has given their misogyny legitimacy.

That's why this movement has gained so much traction so fast.

littlbrowndog · 21/01/2019 17:12

It really really is orchid
Men however they dress it up

BelleHathor · 21/01/2019 17:13

"What's with South Africa & its creepy, aggressive murder rate ?"

"What's with South Africa & its creepy, aggressive human trafficking ?"
It's an easy game to play, these wokesters are more concerned with virtue signalling, instead of actually tackling the real issues because that would be too much hard work. I will tell him why Britain is full of "transphobes" when he explains why a woman raped in South Africa has a 1 in 4 chance of contracting HIV.

GrinitchSpinach · 21/01/2019 17:20

This can't be emphasized enough.

AspieAndProud · 21/01/2019 17:32

Now I think about it, I've a feeling the guy who was interviewed on RT with Nic Williams (on Friday?) may have said something similar. I don't remember the word 'creepy' but there was certainly an implication that we were unhealthily obsessed with toilets. So there may be a pattern.

It’s like how objecting to genital mutilation becomes ‘an unhealthy obsession with children’s genitals’.

The woke "journalist" isn't above employing a bit of DARVO:

aggressive UK people have gamergated my mentions, so I'll be away for a bit

Ereshkigal · 21/01/2019 17:46

He's trying to say that women and girls wanting space away from men is creepy, the opposite of how it's usually used.

It's a TRA style reversal. I think this guy probably isn't a great fan of women.

Deliriumoftheendless · 21/01/2019 17:50

The one thing I have learned from this whole mess is that there are some people who believe so little in women and girls having boundaries and rights that they can not even entertain the idea that anyone else would believe it.

Must be hate because who gives a shit about women and girls. Not these arseholes. It’s like expecting me to worry about the feelings of the lawn when I cut the grass.

Thesuzle · 21/01/2019 17:52

Op could have left The Guardian” out of the title and i have guessed it !

ScipioAfricanus · 21/01/2019 18:27

I think the ‘creepy’ thing is used to try to suggest we are all net-curtain-twitching, gossipy old biddies looking for a spacious vicarious thrill by discussing the sexuality of others. It’s just as disingenuous and essentially misogynistic as the rest of their arguments. I would also like to know why putting children on hormone blockers to prevent their bodies developing isn’t also a creepy focus on bodies? But their argument is as coherent as a dandelion clock on a windy day.

ScipioAfricanus · 21/01/2019 18:28

For spacious read salacious. Thanks, autocorrect.

merrymouse · 21/01/2019 19:38

Ironically a lot of them claim that the Guardian is a hot bed of transphobia, I think because of the editorial a while ago that acknowledged that it might sometimes be necessary to notice that sex exists.

ChewyLouie · 21/01/2019 21:23

The twitter pic shows his audience - a deserted lecture theatre 😂
What’s with misogynists and their relentless creepy, aggressive bs ?

waterlego · 21/01/2019 22:06

ZuttZeVootEeeVro You have hit the nail on the head re the appropriation of language describing women’s oppression.

Sparkyduchess · 21/01/2019 23:12

He’s responded to my tweet, and is asking me for examples of how a predator has claimed to be trans to gain access to women or kids.

Can anyone point me somewhere with a summary or set of examples? I’m sure I saw something perfect on Twitter yesterday but can’t find it.

I’m trying to be very clear that my issue is not with trans, but with the ease with which it can be used as a shield by a predator.

AspieAndProud · 21/01/2019 23:16

Karen White?

AspieAndProud · 21/01/2019 23:26

Given the amount of publicity surrounding the Karen White case and the sheer bloody obviousness of how it demonstrates exactly what we are concerned about, I’m done accepting that people who want to dismantle safety procedures are just useful idiots.

They are complicit in abuse; they are accomplices.

You can’t reason with somebody who wants to promote harm.

Sparkyduchess · 21/01/2019 23:37

Karen white is exactly who I went to, my response is sitting in my drafts.

I guess I just wanted to give him MORE, but one is enough.

KatherinaMinola · 21/01/2019 23:48

From him, further down that Twitter thread:

"Nothing creepy about the number of men in prison "identifying as women" to gain access to women?" This... isn't a thing. Have you ever spoken,in real life, to a trans woman?

He's an idiot.

Sparkyduchess · 22/01/2019 00:02

Yeah, you’re right. I was hopeful, should have known better.

Or how lesbians objecting to bedding penii are vagina 'fetishists'

Our friend JY?

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 22/01/2019 02:08

Men who don't want women to be able to set their own boundaries and who don't want women and girls to have sex segregated spaces are creepy as fuck.

I noticed someone's response to the Karen white example, was 'thats only one case'. So obviously only one male sex offender isn't enough. Wanting lots of sex offenders in womens spaces is creepy as fuck too.
