They were discussing whether transgender people should have access to the ward of the sex they identify as.

3 of the presenters brought up the valid concerns of the safety of women but it seems Stacey Solomon thinks that its terribly unkind of women to not feel comfortable having penis in their personal space when they're vulnerable in a hospital ward.

We should ignore our own discomfort because a transwomen doesn't feel comfortable on a ward full of men 😑

Generally I like Stacey, but I cannot agree with her disregarding the concerns surrounding putting male bodies in spaces with vulnerable women. Apparently Karen White is a rare example of someone abusing self ID, so we should ignore that it happened because it doesn't happen often.

Women are collateral damage.

but I think men and women (on average) exhibit differences in personality on a bioligical basis, not just socially constructed.

I think penises have something to do with it Grin

Can you name a specific personality difference that's shared by every single woman on the planet and not by any man?

The only thing that every single woman on the planet has in common is their biology. That's it. That's all.

I'm a nurse and when I was training it was apparent that there was an unspoken assumption that women could care for men alone, but not the other way around because women are vulnerable physically and men are more likely to cause harm so had to be chaperoned. The chaperoning also protected the men from false accusations or misunderstandings. People were allowed to be pragmatic back in the day and it was just an accepted practise with no one taking offense.

When I had a c section and was on the ward afterwards the place was full of male visitors who never went home and the one opposite me would often stare so I had to sit behind my curtains. I wouldn't ever consent to being on a mixed ward due to past sexual assault and other problems, so I'll probably die prematurely as I'll refuse to be admitted. I also refuse smear tests and breast screening.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Stacey person. Nice to see women supporting each other.

I understand the safety reasons but at the same time there are women who aren't afraid of assault by an HCP but who would just not feel comfortable being treated by a male dr or nurse. Ime as a nurse there were also men who were embarrassed being treated by women - particularly on the urology ward where I worked when we had to catheterise them etc. I think that men should be offered that same level of care as we would offer to female patients.

Yes, I agree, I was just describing how historically it has been handled and the reasons behind it.

Those who were unhappy about what the women had to say are contacting Ofcom to complain.
If you think that our voices should be heard and don't think women should be silenced take 5 mins to let Ofcom know. Otherwise all feedback will be one-sided.
