Was in the car and heard Jane Garvey say they were going to be discussing this today, with a firefighter who transitioned m to f and the effect on their marriage. Just got home and waiting for the discussion to start.

Coming up now!

Stephanie Jones 'Trans Awareness' training at Gower College Swansea
& book promotion.
-seems likely that the police were at this training session along with other organisations (public sector?)

Someone else making money on the trans gravy train circuit. (Thank you, Paris Lees, for informing us about that)

It's like a pyramid selling scheme.

Datun · 07/01/2019 17:22

Must have an emotional blackmail segment appealing to female socialisation before we even get anywhere near the wife.

It's this. You're not just allowed to centre women first, second and third. You have to seem to be balancing that with talking about men, too. On bloody women's hour.

Your welcome pack includes a £30 wig, pack of BIC twin blades for ladies, and a bumper dose of self entitlement.

TinselAngel · 07/01/2019 17:53

I'd probably better not listen to it it will just annoy me.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/01/2019 18:12

Also, the person reading it out is an ACTOR?

That reminded me of Gerry Adams Grin

Don't forget the nail varnish. There's always the nail varnish.

It seems to have been the day for transition stories from M2F in middle age.
Times article today tells a similar story of a former sportsman rather than former fireman:

Yet another email complaining about centering of men and advertising of book sent. When do women get 10 minutes to talk about our mental health concerns?

AbsintheFriends · 08/01/2019 10:21

Layla "I can see into people's souls" Moran in the studio today, talking about Saudi Arabia's treatment of female detainees. I wonder if she's going to stay around to listen to the trans widow point of view?

hipsterfun · 08/01/2019 10:22

What’s with the misogyny blind spot, Moran? Confused

R0wantrees · 08/01/2019 10:26

Woman's Hour now discussing treatment of women in Saudi Arabia.

Layla MoranMP on and now the abusive behaviour towards Anna Soubry MP discussed and the fact that female MPs targetted.

I wonder if Layla Moran will remain in the studio to hear the next segment given her unequivocable support for TRAs

Apologies, cross post.

R0wantrees · 08/01/2019 10:30

I really hope someone will transcribe 'Michelle's' interview.

Its very powerful

nojellybabies · 08/01/2019 10:36

Is anyone listening to the ex wife talking now?

Melroses · 08/01/2019 10:38

I am listening. Should she have her own thread?

R0wantrees · 08/01/2019 10:40

Should she have her own thread?

Was thinking the same thing.
Title needs to be really clear so others can find it.

AbsintheFriends · 08/01/2019 10:40

I'm listening. Very powerful.

How telling that when talking about this life-changing and traumatic personal experience she feels the need to state that she 'isn't transphobic'. Because all the emotions that she feels as she witnesses her family being destroyed are belittled by the accusation of not being considerate enough to the person who was causing the devastation.

Rowan would you mind (you’re widely followed)?

Wordthe · 08/01/2019 12:20

Adrian mole is deliciously unaware tedious and self-absorbed
😂😂😂
Spot on!
I listened to this monologue and it was just so Adrian mole

Wordthe · 08/01/2019 12:23

A phobia is an irrational fear
It is entirely rational to treat these self absorbed predators with caution and scepticism
