That Daily Mail article is excellent!

Cuntysnark · 06/01/2019 06:10

That’s a good article. Thank you badday, another woman with ovaries of steel.

FeckTheMagicDragon · 06/01/2019 06:30

Seems the pub is now rated 5 stars on TripAdvisor. Most of them in Jan 2019 ...

Good report.

"‘Heather said I’d been upsetting people and Mika was crying,’"

He was crying...over someone else's T-shirt? Shock Ffs.

Deliriumoftheendless · 06/01/2019 08:15

Wow! Badday is gorgeous!

Sorry for being highly inappropriate.

Hilarious response from the brewery. It seems the statement about women being a female human is offensive and ideological and therefore protecting their customers is a safeguarding issue.... ha ha ha Grin

Katvonbatshit · 06/01/2019 08:16

badday
Your t-shirt made someone cry.

Go and sit on the naughty step.

^ I'm sure she won't mind if we are in agreeance on that.

I can't help myself after a few pints and will start trapping off in my tshirt at the local too. Thankfully it's solidly working class, so not a groomed beard in sight to spoil my fun. I have already told the staff that the message is considered hate speech and they don't believe me, so I think I am safe to continue with my acts of literal violence for the time being.

from Twitter link above
FiveClouds tap, "However safeguarding our customers and staff against any form of offensive ideology is our top priority"

Safeguarding is a framework supported by legislation to protect children and vulnerable adults & this should always be a priority.

The leaflets by Fairplay for Women that were deemed 'transphobic' identify a number serious risks to Safeguarding & Child Protection frameworks as a consequence of proposed gender self-id.

Pubs, licence holders & supervisors should also have clear priorities:

the prevention of crime and disorder
public safety
prevention of public nuisance
the protection of children from harm

"Taking responsibility
The Licensing Act requires the supervisor - and all personal licence holders - to take responsibility for the sale and supply of alcohol.

This is because of the impact alcohol has on the wider community, on crime and disorder, and antisocial behaviour.

Because of these issues, selling alcohol carries greater responsibility than licensing regulated entertainment and late night sales of food and non-alcoholic drinks."

I don't agree with the ideology behind this t-shirt, but I wouldn't want someone banned for wearing it.

Maybe the bar staff at the Five Clouds pub should adopt it as their new uniform?

Floisme · 06/01/2019 09:03

I am going to choose to find it funny that challenging men about their opinions is now considered offensive.
Agree you look bloody great in that T shirt Bad-day!

Floisme · 06/01/2019 09:04

Sorry my phone inserted a hyphen! Badday

hackmum · 06/01/2019 09:22

What a bizarre world, where a man is driven to tears by a t-shirt and then chooses to share that fact with a national newspaper.

Btw, badday looks fab in that photo - it’s a great ad for the t-shirt.

nauticant · 06/01/2019 09:38

I read the article as having come from badday with little or no input from Mika Johnson.

Forget about white women's tears. If you want to get things done, get those white men's tears flowing.

TimeLady · 06/01/2019 09:41

You look fabulous, badday - a 'disrespectful woman' in her full feisty glory.

Ereshkigal · 06/01/2019 09:51

Absolutely. You have such a proud and unrepentant look in that photo, so different from the normal DM sadface.

R0wantrees · 06/01/2019 09:53

FiveClouds tap, "However safeguarding our customers and staff against any form of offensive ideology is our top priority"

My real-ale drinking male friend has pointed out that for a taphouse, keeping decent beer should be their top priority.

Strange allies we end up with...

But yes, badday you look fabulous, and the weeping snowflake looks like, well, a weeping snowflake.

Ereshkigal · 06/01/2019 10:06

My real-ale drinking male friend has pointed out that for a taphouse, keeping decent beer should be their top priority.

YY. It's such a bizarre statement for a pub to make.

Ereshkigal · 06/01/2019 10:09

And not, seemingly from the deeply offensive ideology that womanhood is merely a costume any man can decide to put on, shoving women out of the way to do it.

teawamutu · 06/01/2019 10:12

I don't think any of the proper old style pubs round my way would even recognise that t shirt as an ideology.

I may try out a student pub when my hoodie arrives.

R0wantrees · 06/01/2019 10:16

from the MoS article:

"The manager of Five Clouds Tom Lewis said Ms Wershbale is not permanently barred but she must ‘have a discussion with staff so she understands the situation’ before she is allowed back in."

Is this the re-education part of the 'safeguarding our customers and staff against any form of offensive ideology' policy?

Datun · 06/01/2019 10:19

And not, seemingly from the deeply offensive ideology that womanhood is merely a costume any man can decide to put on, shoving women out of the way to do it.

Exactly.

Man cries because another man, who's not there and knows nothing about it, might be offended.

Well, that's the official line. Which is pathetic enough.

The unofficial line is a woman had an opinion I disagree with and must therefore be vilified.

Frankly, it doesn't get more offensive, misogynistic, oppressive or hateful.

And this is why I don't want to ban the word cunt.

But out of respect for the current MN debate, I'll just use the term fucking tosser.

If Sanchez Manning reads these threads (and I'm sure she does), thanks for another great article, Sanchez Flowers
