I live in said town, I am not a lesbian nor a feminist nor a transgender either, as far as I am concerned live & let live, I do know the pub/bar/brewery though & I find it hard to believe she was chucked out just for that, it just doesn't seem like them at all. That said...I wasn't there so I have no idea.

There are always two sides to every story though and I would like to have a full chapter & verse off both of them before I make a judgement.

BTW - for all those wanting to come here....well....don't plan to send the entire day here...there isn't a lot to do at the busiest of times....

I would like to hear full chapter and verse too because, ever since this story broke, there have been claims that we don’t know the full facts, and yet people seem strangely reluctant to tell us what these facts are, other than that the woman had reportedly been distributing Fair Play for Women leaflets on a previous visit.

News normally travela a lot faster than this on Twitter so I’m curious as to why this alleged full story is taking so long to reach us.

Women have been suspended from Twitter for saying Ian Huntley is male. A woman was denied victim compensation for referring to her assailant as he in court. Women have been forced to share a prison shower with a convicted rapist. Adult Human Female posters have been taken down from billboards across the country.

Why the fuck wouldn't a bar kick a woman out for distributing FPFW leaflets and wearing an AHF T-shirt?

As I recall the claims that we didn’t know all the facts were made either by the bar or by people connected to the bar. (I can now longer see the Twitter feed so I can’t check - has it gone?) If that narrative has turned out to be incorrect then I don’t think it’s good enough for them to quietly let it drop. They should say so publicly.

Name changed for obvious reasons - I'm the woman who was barred from Fiveclouds. The story is basically what's been relayed to twitter and beyond. I was there with my girlfriend and best friend playing a board game, went for a cig where I saw a man who was so distressed by my tshirt (which he couldn't even see because I was wearing a coat) that he co ordinated movements to get me thrown out, because I had the audacity to ask him how he was.

I had been there previously with other fpfw campaigners in the summer wearing tshirts, and left leaflets there with permission. At no point had I been warned about 'transphobia', but had certainly have had some spirited discussions about it. One such discussion involved me being called homophobic, hilariously enough.

Anyway, the press are involved, as are lawyers. I've been advised not to say much about it, but I thought I should clarify what's on twitter is mostly accurate. We were playing board games and I was barred seemingly out of nowhere. After having been served 3 rounds and food. The stories that I was carried out drunk after starting fights are wholly untrue.

And thanks for the glowing testimony on page 4! That definitely brightened my week!

This is really important. It is being claimed on Twitter that you left these without permission. If you had permission then it throws the managements position on its head. They permitted those leaflets. That needs to be made public. That will leave quite a few people scratching heads

Cheers for the solidarity ladies. I was umming and ahhing about posting here lest it backfire somehow, but I'm totally in the clear here so here I am. Yes, I left leaflets there on 2 occasions, and was lied to when I asked what had happened to them the first time. Obviouslyl I had my suspicions about them just disappearing, but just asked if I could leave some more and was allowed. I had another fpfw campaigner with me at the time. The whole thing has been so underhand, right up until the other day I was a frequent regular (is that a thing?) and none of the staff have ever warned me about anything.

It's a funny old thread, TRAs seem to find reading a challenge, otherwise they would have grasped Louise doesn't work there. Still makes them feel special and righteous. Bless them.
