And he did it with the most derogatory angry expression on his face.

No, you really cannot divorce the person from their ideologies and actions in that way.

Yes you can. Quite easily.

isitreallymyfault · 19/12/2018 18:09

He did say it to her. He was looking directkyvat her. It was during PMQs. He didn't say it to himself. There were numerous cameras pointing directly at his face, a press gallery full of press, visitors galllery and a full HoC.

If that is the case why did she not call him out on it at the time, clearly no one heard and it was only picked up when the army of media moguls troll through this stuff to find news worthy stuff. For what it’s worth I thought it looked more like ‘stupid bitch’ 😂😂 but who really cares what he mouthed to himself anyway?

BlancheM · 19/12/2018 18:11

Couldn't care less tbh. I say that as a feminist. Whilst TM is whooping and making a show of herself panto-style like everything is one big joke, the community I live in is making more charitable donations than ever before because it's not pleasant to watch people slowly dying, stripped of all dignity.
'Stupid woman' does not even cover what I think of that woman.

DioVelazquez · 19/12/2018 18:11

To those trying to defend the phrase, how would you feel if a work colleague called you a stupid woman in a meeting of a dozen people? I'd be mightily peed off

It's not the same thing, is it? Because most of us don't work in great halls full of baying juveniles trading jeers and insults.

The argument here is really more about the use of the word woman than the fact he called her stupid. The former, sadly to say, is not newsworthy in the slightest.

DioVelazquez · 19/12/2018 18:12

the LATTER, I mean.

ratchethandler · 19/12/2018 18:12

I agree 1hello2hello. But I think you'll find the 'seat of our legislature' is actually in Brussells, occupied mainly by a rather loutish drunk

DioVelazquez · 19/12/2018 18:12

It really is sickening to watch, isn't it? Politicians are disgusting.

BlancheM · 19/12/2018 18:12

(And yes it looks more like 'stupid people' to me).

JimmyGrimble · 19/12/2018 18:14

What an absolute crock of shit. Tory MPs standing up and saying ‘I saw him say it sir ...’ it’s pathetic and I would expect better from my Year 3 class.

BlancheM · 19/12/2018 18:14

Yes Dio. It's sickening and hard to believe that those are the people running the country, acting like they're in a primary school playground! Utterly ridiculous

ratchethandler · 19/12/2018 18:16

The past few posts have it...I'm certain there is no shitty behaviour from Corbyn that his cult followers will not tolerate.

He could eat live kitten sandwiches on TV, and they'd still make excuses for him.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 18:17

It was bought up at the end of PMQs. He isn't some inexperienced MP. He is leader if the opposition. He knew the cameras were there. He knew what he was doing. Mouthing to yourself in a room full of people full if cameras is a new type of defense. Is that a bit like his line during the summer of I was there but I didn't participate.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 18:17

Yeah because that would have been fucking hilarious, right? Confused

sunshineNdaisies · 19/12/2018 18:18

haven't RTFT but I'm deaf and a lipreader and he clearly says 'woman' and not 'people'. The second syllable is clearly 'man'

Never been a fan of Corbyn.

Fed up with the Tories at the moment but do have sympathy for May, she's inherited a mess and nothing she negotiates will make everyone happy.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/12/2018 18:18

The thing that annoys me most is not the specific use of the word "woman" (which I can't get worked up about as I just do not see women as inferior to men in any way, and particularly not to someone like Corbyn), but the fact that he SO CLEARLY said "woman," not "people" and yet came back and insulted us all, men and women, by blatantly lying about it.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 18:18

TM is whooping and making a show of herself panto-style like everything is one big joke

As do all MPs of whatever persuassion. Including the Labour front bench. That doesn't fit your narrative though does it.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 18:19

I suspect that you are right.

DeepanKrispanEven · 19/12/2018 18:23

I think Corbyn's a total pillock, and one of the things that make most angry about the current pile of shit is that if we had a decent leader of the opposition they could wipe the floor with this useless government - indeed Labour might well have won the last election.

But I just can't get worked up over this storm in a teacup. People who are are playing into the government's hands by allowing it to be a pointless distraction from their utter incompetence.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/12/2018 18:25

she's inherited a mess and nothing she negotiates

She didn’t inherit a mess- she chose to stand. She has failed to conciliate, she keeps saying ‘brexitmeansbrexit’ meaninglessly, she triggered article 50 without any plan, she called an election then barely campaigned for it. She is responsible for windrush and the hostile environment. And that’s not to mention other Tory domestic policies.
She’s stupid or nasty or both.

BlancheM · 19/12/2018 18:27

I'm not invested enough to have a fixed narrative, silly. I was commenting on Teresa May on this occasion, why would I start generalising or going off on a tangent which would be irrelevant to the thread?

Terfing · 19/12/2018 18:27

I do not like Corbyn, but it did look like "people" to me.

However, for me, the worst part of the situation was that he called her "stupid". She's much smarter than he is, and he knows it.

Sadly, TM gets much worse thrown at her.

Greensleeves · 19/12/2018 18:28

Exactly what Deepan said.

FatherBuzzCagney · 19/12/2018 18:32

Boris has said appallingly racist things and no one seems to have been particularly bothered. And when I say no one, I mean the mainstream neoliberal media.

Except, for example, The Guardian and The Mirror and the Independent. And then there's this article on the BBC. But yes, apart from the many times that Johnson has been called out as a racist and islamaphobe in the news, no-one ever mentions it.

FatherBuzzCagney · 19/12/2018 18:33

People who are are playing into the government's hands by allowing it to be a pointless distraction from their utter incompetence

That's exactly why it was such a totally stupid thing for Corbyn to do - he handed the Tories a gift and not surprisingly they grabbed it with both hands.

VickyEadie · 19/12/2018 18:37

That's exactly why it was such a totally stupid thing for Corbyn to do - he handed the Tories a gift and not surprisingly they grabbed it with both hands.

He spent decades on the backbenches muttering, saying and shouting exactly what he wanted.

It's force of habit and he's been caught out. Also, he has no idea how to be a leader.
