And he did it with the most derogatory angry expression on his face.

I dunno. Considering the last Prime Minister got accused of sticking his dick in a pigs head and the current president of the USA has been accused of having a tiny Mariokart-related mushroom penis...this doesn't feel like that much to get worked up about.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 17:42

I forgot about the pig's head thing. Gross.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 19/12/2018 17:42

A lot of her decisions have been stupid.

I wonder what nonsense that Corbyn has got up to, I'm sure he's not squeaky clean. I think I'll have to vote Green next time.

Labour supporter, not a Corbyn supporter here.

Ailisha · 19/12/2018 17:47

What’s the difference between OP publicly calling Mr Corbyn ‘Magic Grandpa’ and mocking his supporters and Mr Corybyn (allegedly) calling Mrs May a ‘stupid woman’? Seriously – what’s the difference? Is name calling and using derogatory language wrong or not? If it’s so wrong why did you come to a public forum and do it? I suggest, as you’ve been so free with the insults yourself, that this post is opportunistic, hypocritical, manufactured outrage. The many many people worried about feeding their kids couldn’t give a fat rat’s arse. And yeah, whataboutery, I know, but seriously ... come the fuck on - Tories are burning the country to the ground and THIS is what we're talking about?! You accuse Corbynistas of deflection, but what's this whole debate if not deflection?

Notevenmyrealname · 19/12/2018 17:48

He should apologise even if he didn’t intend to offend anyone. Offence is entirely subjective and he should be more aware of what he’s saying as he’s in the public eye.
There are a lot of people on here that seem to be offended at the lack of offence that others have taken though. It depends on the individual. I’m a woman and literally would not for a second assume someone calling me a stupid woman was anything other than an insult against me. I wouldn’t read anything misogynistic into it. I’m not offended by the word cunt either as I don’t associate it with anything misogynistic either but others disagree. It’s a pointless thread to be honest and as it’s a political figure, people are always going to let that influence their judgement. The same as if a friend insults you, you’re more likely to let it go than if someone you don’t like does it.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 17:48

worried might I suggest that you do a little (a lot) of digging in to the Green party before you cast your vote in that direction. They really don't like women (or non-men as we are known by the Greens).

The difference is this happened in the House of commons. Corbyn is meant to be leader of official opposition not an anonymous person a forum.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 17:50

Interesting - I would feel completely the opposite about this.

hackmum · 19/12/2018 17:53

I think the pig story was probably made up.

mellongoose · 19/12/2018 17:53

The difference is that this is the House of Commons and he is the Leader of the Opposition. There are parliamentary standards which he failed to adhere to and he should face the consequences; same as any other parliamentarian would.

I was actually more annoyed with how belligerent Bercow was when challenged.

TheLastNigel · 19/12/2018 17:53

If day the most annoying thing is the absurd denial. If you're going to do it at least be brave about it and admit it.

ratchethandler · 19/12/2018 17:54

More faux outrage from the Corbyn haters.....Yes I'm sure that would be your line if Boris had said the same about some labour female....

ratchethandler · 19/12/2018 17:57

TheLastNigel That's the entire point, for me anyway.. But then Jezza refused to apologise for supporting the Prov IRA, so I doubt he'll fess up to this one now...

May isn't stupid anyway, she's sly and dishonest but not stupid.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 19/12/2018 17:58

Erm Boris has said appallingly racist things and no one seems to have been particularly bothered. And when I say no one, I mean the mainstream neoliberal media.

worriedmumofson · 19/12/2018 17:59

God, don't get me started on them! The challenge is going to be finding somebody to vote for given that it won't be Tory or the Greens and Corbyn is not an attractive prospect now or any time

QuietContraryMary · 19/12/2018 17:59

The pig's head story was completely fake & was the plot of a 'how to slander a politician' Charlie Brooker-type thing years before. Essentially the theory was 'force them to put out a statement saying "I did not fuck that pig" and it makes them look bad, and if they don't deny it they obviously did it'

Anyone who believes it is obviously a bit thick, tbh

DeepanKrispanEven · 19/12/2018 18:00

Also it's great to see (on a feminist board) women clamouring to join in and call Theresa May stupid. Way to miss the fucking point. confused

Why? Claiming that a stupid PM is immune from being called stupid just because she is a woman is in itself hugely patronising and misogynistic.

isitreallymyfault · 19/12/2018 18:01

Surely he can think and say to himself what he likes, he didn’t CALL her anything did he.

brizzledrizzle · 19/12/2018 18:04

Why? Claiming that a stupid PM is immune from being called stupid just because she is a woman is in itself hugely patronising and misogynistic.

It's not TM that is stupid, it's her ideologies and actions. Personally I don't believe in calling anybody stupid, criticise the action not the person. I can't believe I'm defending the woman, I can't stand what she believes in.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 18:05

Surely he can think and say to himself what he likes, he didn’t CALL her anything did he.

He did say it to her. He was looking directkyvat her. It was during PMQs. He didn't say it to himself. There were numerous cameras pointing directly at his face, a press gallery full of press, visitors galllery and a full HoC.

ratchethandler · 19/12/2018 18:05

Erm Boris For all his faults and past misdeeds did not support a terrorist org' that were engaged in murdering, torturing and extorting money from his fellow citizens. And repeatedly lied about doing so.

The accusation stands. If Boris had said this you Corbynistas would be bubbling with outrage.

1hello2hello · 19/12/2018 18:05

To those trying to defend the phrase, how would you feel if a work colleague called you a stupid woman in a meeting of a dozen people? I'd be mightily peed off. If he is dumb enough to say knowing cameras are on him how does he act towards those in his office etc? The House of Commons is place of work as well as seat of our legislature.

DeepanKrispanEven · 19/12/2018 18:06

It's not TM that is stupid, it's her ideologies and actions

No, you really cannot divorce the person from their ideologies and actions in that way.

JimmyGrimble · 19/12/2018 18:08

He clearly said ‘stupid people’ ... you’re all frothing about nowt
